French Riviera meets Thailand - this is something that came to mind when I saw this hotels beach. We had a very pleasant stay at La Solaya Khao Lak and would definitely consider returning. During our stay it was still soft opening. I also have to mention that La Solaya is privately owned by thai family. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is situated in Bang Niang, where restaurants, shops, cafés and the night market are all within walking distance. At the same time, the hotel has direct beach access, so you get both convenience and a relaxed holiday atmosphere. We stayed in a villa, which I can highly recommend. If your budget allows, the villa is worth it. I hardly ever say anything about hotel beds, but this time it is something to mention. It was amazing and the linens also. I also have to mention that there was a proper freezer in the room. So we got ice cream from 7/11 and enjoyed afternoon chill (warm coffee, ice cream and air condition) in the room. Villa had its own star bucks coffee machine. The hotel restaurant breakfast was outstanding and not overcrowded. Music was peaceful and classy, Frank Sinatra makes good for everyone's morning. Breakfast selection was amazing, there was everything you could ever imagine and everything with good quality. They even have their own bakery and coffee brewery and barista making your morning coffee. Dinner especially the Thai dishes and steaks were very good. Come to dinner at sun set because this is the place to watch it. However, thanks to the location, there are also plenty of great local restaurants nearby if you want variety. One to mention: gold elephant just next to hotel. Service was friendly, relaxed and personal. The hotel is not too large, which makes the overall atmosphere calm and easygoing. The beach in front of the hotel is wide and clean, typical for Khao Lak, and perfect for long walks. It’s not overcrowded, and hotel has its own grass area just 2 steps away from beach. Sun loungers are wide and soft. The sunsets here are especially beautiful. Hotel has a two beautiful swimming pool area, which are nicely designed and never felt too crowded. Other one in front of main building and other one infinity pool just at the beach side. Both have their own bar. La Flora group (La Solaya is part of it) has also its own agency doing trips from La Floras deck which is situated next to La Solaya. I can highly recommend sun set cruise we did one evening. Such a perfect 3 hours trip with catamaran. We also visited La Vita Sana Khao Lak for treatments arranged through the hotel. The 3-day program (including Jet Lag Treatment, Deep Sleep Treatment and massage) was well structured and a great way to recover after a long flight. The transfers were handled smoothly by the hotel. (you can see the review of that in La Vita Sana trip advisor) Things to note: The central location means it is not completely silent (depending on your villa/room location) As a newer hotel, some details are still being refined Overall, La Solaya is a great choice if you are looking for a smaller boutique hotel with a good location, comfortable villas and easy access to both the beach and local life. I am looking forward going there next winter to see what has happened after soft opening.
The resort is newly opened/refurbished hence absolutely spic and span, well maintained and well managed. Situated at Khao lak, about 1.5 hrs away from Phuket airport but right on the beach with full access. It also has large swimming pools (including a beautiful infinity pool) with varying depths and play tools to bar (fun for all ages). Though I would like to comment that the poolside flooring becomes very hot, hence very painful to reach the pool if the weather is hot and you have taken off your footwear. Greenery, lounging chairs, outdoor umbrellas are in adequate quantity. Although hotel is on a busy street with eateries etc but inside is peaceful, at least our room was, hence good sleep quality. The beds were comfortable with good quality linen. Toiletries were adequate in the well appointed toilet. Staff is helpful and courteous but lack of knowledge of English is a little restrictive. Breakfast is lavish and sumptuous with different counters but I wish it was laid down more linearly. The disjointed layout keeps one confused and makes you spend much more time there just searching for the dishes of your choice.
This is a very new hotel. The building reflects Thai charm. The employees that I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Pros: Breakfast spread was excellent with lots of choices and good quality. We especially enjoyed the Japanese station. The breakfast experience was peaceful and enjoyable. It's such a welcoming contrast coming from another so called 5 star hotel in the area which had limited choices and chaotic environment. The beach here is very nice and easily accessible. Ocean is quite gentle so suitable for my young daughter to play there. The hotel followed up with a phone call to my room after I checked in asking if everything is good. I think this is a good gesture. Cons: The only thing not to my liking is that the family villa stated a double bed but it's really two twin beds put together so has a gap in between.
The hotel offers very beautiful, clean and spatious rooms. They are newly renovated. Staff is really attentive and polite. The beach is really nice and clean and there are enough sunbeds. Great food and amazing spa experience. We will definitely come back.
Room is lovely and clean, staff are super helpful and friendly! Breakfast is amazing as well as pools and beach setting. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby with fantastic food. Would definitely recommend!
