La Vela Khao Lak

Not a 5 star hotel!! Poorly maintained and run down. Big dissapointment… Notluxurios at all

Our 8th return trip to La Vela and again an amazing holiday. The hotel is on the beach front and walking distance to so many excellent restaurants and also the Bang Niang Markets. We stayed in the Ocean view rooms on the 3rd floor and had spectacular views. The rooms are very large with a big bathtub outside on the balcony. Toiletries are provided and replenished daily, linen change daily as are towels . Lots of space to store clothes and suitcases. Breakfast is one of the best we have had with a very comprehensive selection to choose from. Cotton club provides a fabulous high tea as well as pastries, lunches and icecream. Dinner at the Kokulo Club is one of the best in Khao with a seafood buffet offered 3 times a week with a fire show twice a week. There are 3 pools to choose from, one on the beach ,an adults only pool with a bar and swim up rooms and a general pool with swim up rooms. The massage service is excellent and definitely should not be missed. The gym is well equipped with a great wellness centre. The staff are like our friends and will go out of there way to ensure your stay is fabulous. We have had exceptional service from Nok who is senior bell hop over the years and is always willing to help in any way. Our front desk staff were amazing from Nina ,Amp, Jhane, Benz who booked tours and appointments for us, Senior management ,Bob, the resort manager,Aya ...public relations and Alex who went to so much effort to buy us red apples...truly exceptional staff. And Sarah and Pang..down at Kokulu Club and no longer staff but friends.

Beautiful hotel and had a fabulous 10 nights here. Room 3131 we had was stunning. Food was great. Staff went above and beyond especially Alexander, Customer Relations Manager and Pang. Would definitely return. 🕶️

We have been coming to La Vela Khao Lak for four years now, and every single time it feels less like arriving at a hotel and more like coming home. From the very first moment, the welcome is warm, personal and full of heart. The drinks, the smiles, the little jokes, the stories from previous holidays, it all makes such a difference. What makes La Vela so special is that the team truly remembers you. Not only your name, but also your family, your preferences and the small details that make you feel valued. During the entire stay, at any time of the day, you feel genuinely cared for. The team is always kind, attentive and incredibly warm. This is not standard service. This is real hospitality. Our two sons absolutely love La Vela. They feel at home there and are known by so many of the wonderful people working at the resort. For us as parents, that is priceless. The rooms are beautiful, the service is outstanding, the food is fantastic, and the breakfast is on another level. Honestly, we have never seen a breakfast buffet like this before. Our kids love it, and so do we. It is simply amazing. While writing this review, I can feel my excitement growing again, because we will be back this year. We cannot wait to see everyone again. A very special thank you to dear JP. We truly hope he will be back this year at his base, La Vela. Also a heartfelt thank you to JP’s mentor, the wonderful Sarah Mae, and to the entire reservations, events and room service team. You are all such great people. Warm, professional, helpful, patient and kind at any time. Even in busy moments or with very demanding guests, Sarah Mae and her team always keep a smile on their faces. We had the beach front private dinner for our 25 th anniversary. CJ was our private waiter and we were so pleased he was. His attention to detail was amazing. He couldn’t do enough for us. He made a very special day one to remember forever. Thank you CJ and wish you the best in your career. Whoever is lucky enough to employ you will have a very good worker.
