La Vela Khao Lak

A heartfelt thank you to Sarah from La Vela for arranging our beautiful beach dinner date. Everything was set up so nicely and the atmosphere was truly perfect. Her kindness, attention to detail, and effort made our evening very special and memorable. We truly appreciate the wonderful service, Sarah. Stayed for 2 weeks at the beginning February, for a special birthday we have visited Thailand many times but first time in Khao Lak. We chose La Vela for its location close to restaurants, shops, the market and on the beach, it was the perfect choice for us. All the staff at La Vela are lovely from the front desk who were so friendly and so helpful , to concierge who helped with bags and getting taxis, to staff at breakfast, lunch and in the bars Amp on reception was particularly helpful and friendly The hotel grounds are very spacious, beautiful gardens, great pools, lots of loungers and very clean. Never felt crowded but was at capacity The beach was wide with lots of loungers under the trees, perfect for swimming, walking and relaxing. Our favourite pool was by the miners bar so peaceful. Our Seaview room was excellent, lots of space, great storage, large fridge freezer, robes, slippers, good hairdryer, brilliant rain shower and fab balcony for watching sunset. Kept super clean by our lovely housekeeper. The breakfast …one of the best …barista coffee, sushi, lots of fruit, pad Thai, dim sum, bao buns plus all the usual eggs , bacon etc and fresh breads and pastries baked on site! Oh and a surprise birthday cake! We had a some tasty lunches at the Kokulo beach club and we really liked the Cotton club for coffee and lunch with the singers …their open sandwiches were lush Kokulo was also brilliant for their seafood buffet and amazing fire show We had a great massage in the spa, there are also so many massage places just outside the hotel as well as on the beaches Taxis are easy to get and all at a set price Close to the hotel are many lovely restaurants and bars We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for next year

had a 5 night stay at the end of a two week break in Thailand so we spent all our time relaxing on the beach! We had a warm welcome and staff were helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is within easy walking distance to many bars and restaurants so we didn't eat at the hotel except for breakfast (very good, lots of choice and great coffee) and a lunchtime drink and snack at the Beach Club (perfectly fine). we also took advantage of happy hour for sundowners on a couple of days. Our room was spacious, clean, well appointed and had plenty of bottled water, fridge space and storage. One of the best holiday showers too in a large bathroom. We had a sea view room and were disappointed that the view of the sea was somewhat obscured by the palm trees and we were in effect overlooking the sun lounger area. Not a deal breaker as we enjoyed the balcony, just disappointed that it wasn't as expansive a sea view as expected. there were never any issues finding sun loungers on the beach and the towel system seems to work well. We don't enjoy sun loungers in water as all the loungers round the pools seemed to be - personal preference, so we spent our days on the beach. Overall we had an enjoyable and very relaxing stay.

We highly recommend you La Vela Khao Lak Hotel, it was one of the greatest hotels we spent our vacation in, the staff tried to fulfill our every wish, they were always nice and helpful. The room was great, we had a room with direct pool access and that was wonderful. Everything was clean. Breakfast was delicious, with big range of food. The hotel is located at the beach and near to many restaurants, stores and message places in the village. The only thing that could be better are evening animations programme although the fire show was really good.

My wife and I booked from January 12th until the 17th. We were so satisfied that we booked 5 more nights. So 10 nights all together. January 12th to 22nd. It's an amazing hotel. With sunbeds in the middle of the incredible pool's. The staff at the front desk was very proffesional and did that little extra. Very nice rooms were eceptional. Vore very nice. The restaurant served a la carte and also barbecue buffé. One of the waitresses at the dinners is amazing. She sees ALL the guests, not only the ones at her tables. Always with a smile on her face. Her name is PANG!!!
