Moracea by Khao Lak Resort

A fantastic tropical garden resort which flows out onto the beach. The beach was fantastic, flat calm blue water and soft sand. Plenty of deck chairs which were shaded by a variety of palm, coconut and other trees, depending on time of day. Four pools and a four little bars which were never too busy. Though we were in shoulder season. Our room was fantastic check the photos. A large well served breakfast buffet restaurant which flowed over to the beach. The daily meals were very good and reasonably priced. We had breakfast included. Approximately 20 minutes walk to town. Though there is the usual restaurant, laundry, massage located on the beach 150 meters to the south, which was very good too. The resort was so nice I only went to town once. Everything I needed was in the hotel or as mentioned a short walk to the locals beach restaurant / massage 150 meters down the beach. The resort is slightly hilly but you can order a buggy to pick you up if you wish. We were fine. The beach and main restaurant pool and bar areas are all flat. Scooters for hire. Taxi to night markets is around 200bt. 1500bt to airport. The staff were all fantastic. My regular spots were, happy hour from 2 till 4 with barman, Phop at the Butterfly bar. Happy hour from 4 till 6 with Note, Fit, Max, Nam fon and Mind at the Bambu Bar. Happy hour 6 till 7 at Zilk bar with I think Phop? Plus each day we had health and fitness classes with Mang who was part of the recreation team. He was fantastic and kept us tuned up ready for each day, doing a variety of classes including, yoga, stretch, pool aerobics. Plus others. I really enjoyed our stay and thought it was really good value too. Highly recommend

We stayed here with our 4 children for 12 nights nights april 2026. We picked moracea for our wedding venue despite never previously staying in even seeing the hotel in person. How lucky we were...... What an amazing hotel and setting. But what amazing staff! We couldnt remember each and everyones name, but there was mimi, tex, pro, arm and nat...yet each and every person we spoke to was so nice. Especially the beach bar staff and breakfast restaurant staff. From our point of view we had 30 guests all staying at the hotel under different bookings....in all of the different room types. Not one complaint from any of them. All thought the rooms were great! Each of the rooms were different and unique. But none of them were anything other than great. I'd seen a few reviews on various hotel sites that didnt compliment some of the staff too well. How wrong they are! We can only assume its most likely a case of the typical arrogant tourist(s) expecting the world to revolve around them when they cant even offer a please or thank you to the staff. We did notice some guests (the minority thankfully!) being a little blunt and rude with their manners (or lack of!). Not a single member of staff in this hotel was anything other than amazingly nice to us. We smile, say thank you....even try to learn some of the most basic of phrases and you are genuinely met with some of the nicest people on the planet in thailand....it doesnt take much. All of the food was excellent, but we didnt eat in the hotel as much as some people do as we prefer to go out. Our wedding buffet / food was absolutley exceptional!!! Breakfast is again excellent, and whilst again some reviews may comment on the same or similar things being served, we didnt find any issues at all with simply selecting different things each morning from the wide range of fruits, pastries, breads, rices and noodles on offer. They have staff relentlessly cooking your eggs to amy preference and to order....im not sure what else you can possibly hope to get from breakfast! The pools are lovely. This hotel, along with its sister hotel in phuket are similar in the fact there is plenty of quieter pools to chose from as well as a bigger "main" pool. All are fantastic. Do though search out which pool bar is having the happy hour on drinks....it does make a difference to the cost of 2 for 1 drinks!...and the bar changes depending on the time of day. Lastly and most importantly for us was our wedding ceremony - arranged and guiding us through was mimi, our wedding co- ordinator and manager for this occasion. Not only did she help us through the process with emails prior to us arriving, she was there on the day with help and assistance that was so massively appreciated. She was amazing, and deserves a special mention. To anyone planning a wedding at moracea, we can assure you mimi will look after you! The wedding and event was stunning and our whole party / family couldn't stop talking about it. We felt very lucky to get married at such an amazing location and the service, food, cake, photographer, videographer, flowers and everything else was truly exceptional!. Our only complaint is that we enjoyed it so much it went too quickly!. Again, all we can say is thank you to the staff here that made our holiday and wedding so amazing.

The stay was wonderful, the grounds and rooms were clean, and the hotel prices were reasonable. We suggest booking a bungalow directly at the beach. The staff was incredibly attentive and efficient, and the food was superb. Everyone greeted us warmly every morning. It felt like home. (Shout out to Ram! 🙏☀️)

Beautiful resort right on the beach. If you have mobility issues, it would be worth booking a bungalow near the beachfront, as this is on the flat and close to both the restaurant and Coco’s bar. The resort is terraced and has steep steps and hills. A Tuc Tuc costs 200 baht each way for 2 people. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and the staff are extremely helpful and will cater for specific dietary requests, if required. The dinner menu at Coco’s was good quality and reasonably priced. Shout out to the Chef, the Restaurant Manager, Tex, and waiter, Nat, who went out of their way to give us the best experience when we booked a celebratory meal on the beach for our 25th wedding anniversary…the service, food, and location were outstanding. Thank you fro an amazing stay on our first visit to Thailand.

Just spent 3 weeks at this lovely hotel and it is absolutely stunning. Perfect in every way. We stayed here last year for 2 weeks and decided to come back. So glad we did. Food, staff, beach, rooms everything is absolutely amazing. Bedding is changed very regularly as are towels etc so it’s spotlessly clean all the time. Breakfast has something for everyone and is always fresh. No need to worry about getting a sun bed.. there’s plenty! Relaxing and quiet with low key evening music. You can walk into KhaoLak where there are plenty of restaurants and shops, takes about 5 minutes. Bang Yang market is a short taxi trip… plenty of taxis waiting when you want to get back. Resort is hilly but hotel has a free shuttle service if you need it Good mix of nationalities which creates a nice cosmopolitan atmosphere I can’t recommend this holiday enough
