I've stayed at other Katathani resorts, all of which I've enjoyed my time there very much. The Waters is no exception. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and the bell boys are wonderful. When booking I requested a room close to the restaurant and reception. Unfortunately this was not possible. We ended up with a room way down the back of the resort. When ever we needed a buggy to take us to reception, the restaurant for meals we only had to request one. A return journey back to our room was not problem either. Breakfast is included. We had a half board deal where lunch or dinner was also included. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The aircon seemed to be permanently set to 20c and refused to stay at a higher temperature when changed. A large bathroom/toilet with a large shower. No door on the toilet alcove was a bit distressing for my wife. Breakfast was very good, a wide range of choice to suit all dietary requirements. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the restricted selections offered by the lunch and dinner half board menus. The Italian restaurant Amici is wonderful, this is also where breakfast is served, but not lunch. Lunch is available at the Bubble Bar just behind reception and is sunk into one of the many pools. Word of warning, do not sit under the light coloured roof area, it is extremely hot when the sun is over head. There are only two fans when there needs to be a few more. I have one complaint concerning the staff of the Bubble Bar. There seems to be nobody running it. No manager, the staff are all very young and would rather chat amongst themselves, play their modern music at an unacceptable volume and thus making conversation difficult. Service is also very slow as you can imagine. Would I come and stay here again? Most definitely. Outside the resort there are a multitude of small shops, restaurants, minimarts and massage shops within easy walking distance. The resort is set in beautiful and well kept gardens.
We had a lovely week at the Waters resort. The front desk staff were so good, my husband had a recent hip issue so they kindly upgraded us to pool access rooms. It was perfect for him. The rooms were cleaned very well every day and of course we got the obligatory cold water. The shower was great! If needed there was transport in golf buggies to and from your room. There is also a lounge available to play pool or watch television. We did the Luxury Escapes package so we got lunch or dinner free each day as well as breakfast. The breakfast was very good lots of variety. We had a couple of dinners in the Amici restaurant which were lovely, along with a couple of lunches at the Bubble Bar with our free cocktail each day. We got free massages at the spa, they were done outside but very good. Beach was a five minute walk away and we swam every day. There are lots of restaurants around as well. We would definitely go back!
This is our ninth stay at The Waters, Khao Lak and we love it here. One of our favourite things is being able to step straight out of our room into the pool. The staff are beautiful, always happy, smiling, welcoming which makes our stay enjoyable. Hotel is centrally located walking distance to restaurants, shops and Bang Niang Market. We highly recommend The Waters.
Very nice Resort close to the beach, shops and the market. Very clean and great staff, lower pool access room was excellent. Dinner meals were great, breakfast didn't change much though the week and was nothing to write home about. Would recommend staying here.
My family and I recently came back from a family holiday in Thailand, staying at the highly recommended, The Waters Khao lak by Katathani hotel. We arrived after a total of 14 hours travel, and we were tired after the commute. We reached early, around 09:30am, and thought we would have to wait for our check-in time to open, but the front desk staff were very understanding and got a room ready almost straightaway - for which we were extremely grateful! The staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. As in the name "waters," the hotel is surrounded by very well maintained swimming pools. As well the very large main swimming pool, each block has its own swimming pool with each room having its own access to the pool. The room we stayed in was of a very generous size, and was equipped with guest slippers, umbrellas, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, beach/sun lounger towels, and dressing gowns for each guest. The hotel has numerous activities which guests can participate in during the day. As well as a 24 hour gym, pool table, and a games room. The breakfast had a very large verity, which was made up of local, Western, and Continental breakfast. The location was great, as all the main shops and restaurants were a stone throw away (5 minutes walk). The Bang Niang night market was less than 10 minutes walk away. This is open every Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The beautiful, Bang Niang beach was less than a 10 minute stroll. What makes this hotel stand out is its wonderful staff, who were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They attended to all our needs. I would highly recommend this hotel!
