We came to the Hotel Aziza Thalasso Golf for a week and had an amazing time. When we first arrived we were shipped straight off to the restaurant to get something to eat before checking in. After that, we then checked in, which involved paying the tourist tax, changed our money into Tunisian Dinar, and got our pool towels - we had to leave a small (less than £10 - 40 Dinar towel deposit) - which we got back at the end of the holiday. Our luggage was taken to our room and we were pleased with the size and feel of the room - mattresses were pretty firm - which I like and we had a safe (no charge for this which is a bonus) hairdryer in the room (which isn’t the best). The bath is perfectly good and the water gets hot fast and fills and empties fast. The room’s outside seating area is okay - the chairs could do with cushions, and there is no lighting outside - which would make it more comfortable for sitting outside late at night. A couple of plug sockets added near the bed would be handy, but this is a minor issue. Tea and coffee facilities were included in the room, along with a fridge. The TV was very small by today’s standard, and we didn’t watch anything on it when we were in the room - again a minor issue. The internet was fantastic for staying in touch with family back in the UK and we could get it in pretty much most areas of the hotel - certainly the best of anywhere we have stayed. The food was great, we never had an issue and ate very very well all week - often going up for seconds. There is a wide variety of food available for breakfast, lunch and tea - there was plenty of pastries, puddings, pasta, and meat selections available every day. There is also an outside seating area and as it was warm when we were there we ate outside for our lunch. The waiter service is very good and throughout our stay we were treated very well and always welcomed when we walked in and guided to our table and topped up with whatever drink we wanted, (water/juice/wine). The staff are all a big selling point for the hotel - everyone greeted us with a smile and a ‘hello’ - from the people tending the gardens, to the cleaners who kept our rooms clean and tidy. The pool bar staff were great and kept us topped up with drinks. Entertainment - on an evening this was good, from piano players, to quizzes, karaoke, and professional singers all was good. During the day the activities guy came round and got us involved in whatever activities we wanted to do - my wife did aqua aerobics, which she enjoyed in the indoor pool. There was also other activities such as boules, darts, table tennis, cooking classes, wine tasting, however we were there to relax, so did not do these - and there was no pressure to do them. Around the pool there are plenty of sunbeds available, with umbrellas if you need a bit of shade, generally there are plenty of beds available and did not have to rush down and worry we would have to scramble for a sunbed. The cushions on them tend to slip - so look for ones that have a string attached to hold them in place otherwise it will slide a bit. If you like to work out there is a gym, and although some of the machines are a bit older, they do the job and there is plenty of equipment there to get a good workout in. As some other reviews point out - be aware that one you step out of the hotel, there are strangers who will come up to you saying they are the chef at the hotel - we had three people say this same line on the 45 minute (flat and easy) walk into Hammamet. In Hammamet itself, it is nice and has a Medina which is great for picking up the usual souvenirs - be prepared to haggle - we managed to get our price down around 40% for our gifts to bring home - some of the sellers are quite pushy, but this is nothing unusual if you have been to other countries such as Turkey. The hotel is clean and being adults only and offering great food it is great value for money and we have already decided we will be back as we had a fantastic time.

Amazing resort & Excellent staff. Upon arrival you are greeted with a warm friendly environment. The staff in reception are great and make you feel at home. Every member of staff from the cleaners to the waiters greet you with a smile and they simply can’t do enough for you. The food is excellent with a wide variety and not overly repetitive with new dishes each day. There is something for people who wish to try new things but also enough options for picky eaters. Brilliant pool area with ample loungers. No need to get up first thing to reserve a lounger. The rooms are very spacious with a lovely sea view. They are kept very clean and have everything you need. The balcony is quite spacious and also well equipped. The service in the restaurant is impeccable the waiters simply cannot do enough for you. Special shoutout to Mohammed who looks after the outside area at Breakfast/Lunch

There’s a lot to like about this hotel. It’s an oasis of calm after a day wandering through the Medina. It’s spotlessly clean. There’s plenty of choice at the buffet, although there is an inexplicable shortage of spoons! The Reception and bar staff are very helpful. The location on the seafront has wonderful views. The pool area is attractive. It’s a good hotel, but a few tweaks would make it perfect. The rooms are looking a little dated now, our beds (two singles pushed together to make a double) were hard and we could feel the mattress springs. The towels are a bit threadbare. There are no plug sockets near the bed, and only two in the room. The paint is peeling on the balcony. However there is a free safe in the room, plus tea making facilities and the WiFi was fast and rock solid during our stay. Service was good, but Tunisia is a tipping culture, and the guests prepared to tip restaurant staff frequently received noticeably better service. The evening entertainment was rather poor and a bit repetitive apart from the pianist who was of a much higher standard. Location wise, it’s a 45 minute walk to the centre of Hammamet. There are taxis waiting outside the hotel and a taxi ride to Hammamet is about 10 dinars (approx £2.50). If the taxi meter is ‘broken’ as it more than likely will be, you can negotiate a price with the driver before you set off. Beware of a common scam operating in Tunisia where a stranger on the street claims to recognise you from the hotel as he ‘works’ there as an “omelette chef” or similar. He hasn’t recognised you at all, he’s recognised your hotel wrist band. His aim is to befriend you and then take you to his ‘relative’s’ shop and overcharge you for goods. However, we did enjoy our stay at the Aziza and value for moneywise it was excellent. Some guests return year after year, so they must be doing something right.
