We had a wonderful stay at Eden Yasmine Hotel, and I wanted to leave a detailed review because I found other guests reviews really helpful when planning our trip. Staff & Check-In The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. We found everyone to be friendly, kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. We had been travelling throughout the night and arrived earlier than the normal check-in time. The staff noticed that we had my mum with us and kindly arranged an early room for us, which we really appreciated after such a long journey. Before travelling, I had also emailed the hotel after booking through a third-party website. It did take a few days initially for them to pick up our booking and respond, but once they had done so, communication was very quick. They were happy to answer any further questions, so I wouldn’t worry if you don’t receive an immediate response. I had requested a room either on the ground floor or close to a lift, and, if possible, something suitable for my mum. We were given a room right next to the lift, which made things much easier for us. The Room Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely balcony, and it was cleaned very well every day. The air conditioning was excellent. We stayed in mid-August, during the peak of summer, and had absolutely no problems keeping the room cool. In fact, there were times when we actually turned the AC off because the room was already cool enough. I know some reviews mention problems with the air conditioning, so I wanted to mention that this was not our experience at all. The bathrooms are perhaps one area where expectations may vary. The shower has an open-floor design, with water running onto the bathroom floor and a large squeegee provided to clear it afterwards. This didn’t bother us personally, but if this isn’t something you’d be comfortable with, I’d recommend contacting the resort before travelling and asking about the different room options available. Although this is a four-star hotel, I can understand why some guests may feel that certain fixtures, particularly in the bathrooms, could benefit from some updating. For us, this didn’t affect our stay or our enjoyment of the hotel. All-Inclusive & Pools The all-inclusive option was brilliant for us. We didn’t have to worry about where we were going to get breakfast, lunch or dinner, and there were also snacks and drinks available from the bar throughout the day. Also a good range of options and there were new additions daily. The pools are open from around 9am to 6pm. We found the mornings much quieter and never had any difficulty finding sun loungers after breakfast. The pool does become busier in the afternoon, but that’s also when more of the fun activities take place, so it’s worth experiencing both. Location The location was another big positive for us. The hotel is only around five minutes’ walk from the Medina and is also within walking distance of Carthageland and the Aqua Park. It’s also a very manageable sized resort. If you’re travelling with elderly family members or anyone who finds a lot of walking difficult, I would definitely consider this. Shopping Tips If you don’t enjoy haggling or being approached constantly while shopping, I’d definitely recommend visiting Joy Supermarket which is around a 10 minute walk from the hotel. They have fixed prices, accept cards and sell a huge range of souvenirs and other items. We actually found some things there were cheaper than the prices we were initially offered in the Medina. That said, if you want the traditional souk experience, definitely visit the Medina too. One tip is to look around the fixed-price shops first and make a note of prices for things you’re interested in. You can then use those prices as a guide when negotiating in the souks. Currency The hotel was also happy to exchange currency for us. If you have Tunisian dinars left over at the end of your trip, it’s worth asking the hotel whether they can change them back for you. This is useful because Tunisian currency cannot normally be taken out of the country. Alternatively, you can use any remaining money as tips for staff. A Few Other Tips The hotel can arrange taxis for you, and if you find a driver you like, it’s worth asking for their number. We found that once you have a driver you trust, they can be really useful throughout your holiday and can also recommend places to visit. One thing to be aware of is that taxis may not always want to take very short journeys. If you have young children or elderly family members and need to travel a short distance in the heat, it’s worth asking the driver if they can accommodate you and agreeing a reasonable price. We had a great time and would definitely want to visit again.

Awful! There are so many wrong things here. It’s supposed to be a 4star, but it barely reaches 2. 1. Ants all over the room. I will continue having nightmares of ants crawling all over me. 2. A/C only in the room and lobby. Sometimes in the lobby bar. The restaurant was awfully hot every meal we had (we booked all inclusive) 3. Really bad breakfast 4. Poor cleaning all over and bad smell. Toilets in the public areas were awful. 5. No minibar. There was a fridge in the room, but you’d expect at least some water. It was empty. 6. Toilet tank in our room kept running out of water. 7. Besides the animators all the servers were borderline rude. I somehow understand them since they were the same faces every day, all day. They definitely looked overworked. 8. The hotel was once beautiful but it’s so poorly maintained that it lost most of its value. 9. And there’s the sea: 10 min walk from the hotel under scorching sun, jellyfish stings, not free 3days/week. 10. The nursing home on the ground floor actually shocked me. I had been a carer for an elderly parent and I could feel the smell all through the elevator and the hallways. 10. PROS: the pool was clean, the animators were great and the food variety for lunch & dinner was good.

We've been waiting for the check-in since 10 a.m. The receptionists didn't want to check in on purpose, although the room was already ready. At 2 o'clock in the afternoon we were also not checked in and kept saying to wait. We were kept at the reception for a very long time, although other people were settled without problems 10 minutes after their arrival

The hotel doesn't have its own private beach. I think they rent access from someone else, but I'm not sure. It's about a 10-minute walk to the beach. However, on Saturdays and Sundays, you will NOT be allowed in because the beach is reserved for other guests. Did you come here for the sea? Well, too bad—you'll spend two out of your six vacation days swimming in the hotel pool instead. There is also a nightclub on the hotel grounds. Every single night, the music is extremely loud until 3:00 a.m. This was a huge shock for our family. You can usually swim in the sea before noon. After lunch, however, you'll constantly feel something stinging you in the water. We stayed well away from the jellyfish, but it didn't help. Swimming turns into torture. You get stung all over your body, but you just have to put up with it. Even taking a shower afterward doesn't completely get rid of the sensation. It feels as if you're walking through stinging nettles all the time. And finally, you'll always be eating with flies in the dining room. Enjoy your vacation. As for me, I'll never come back to this country.
