Hotel Rosa Beach Thalasso & Spa

It was a good experience,I liked the atmosphere ,the games especially waterpolo and pétanque and the food especially the pizza , the rooms are good ,spacy and comfortable.

Besides having to wait for one hour at the reception before receiving our room, we even gave a tip hoping to get a better room. When we finally entered it, it was a complete disaster: cockroaches everywhere, dirt, dust, stained mattress and bed sheets, and in the bathroom there were ants and cockroaches of all sizes. That same night we changed rooms four times, and each one was worse than the previous one. The air conditioning didn't work in any of them. They sent the housekeeping staff to clean the room, but when we came back and stayed there for just five minutes, cockroaches started coming out again. It was simply impossible to stay there. They promised that the next day we would receive a better room. We refused because we were traveling with a small child. Since it was already 4:00 a.m., we reluctantly agreed to stay in a room without air conditioning until morning. We slept on our own towels because the room was unbelievably filthy. The next morning, we took our luggage to the lobby and requested to be moved to another hotel. We had to pay an extra €400 to transfer to a different hotel, and we left. P.S. The restaurant was full of flies and ants.

First to know - there is a tourist fee of 12 dinars/person/night that You pay when You check in (better to have dinars then eur or dollars because they ask for more eur or usd).. Reception personal tried to make more money on us from beginning/arriving, there is a lady at the reception that is not customer oriented but on interest. We booked sea view room and we have received pool view and after discussing with the manager next day, we received a better room but still not what we paid for. There are ants in the rooms, cleanliness is poor, towels and shampoo You have to ask from the person's that make the cleaning because they forget to suply them. The rooms are with old furniture and the safe in the room is extra charge if You want to.use it. Internal hallways have a dirty carpet. In the restaurant always you have to stay 10-20 minutes (or more sometimes) to receive food cooked on the spot, sometimes the plates are missing ( too many tourists and not enough plates probably), morning juice taste like "dishwasher soap", the tables are not very clean all the time, the waiters are taking care more of the people who "pay" them. Poor quality food (sometimes You can find something good to eat). Not too many drinks/cocktails types (Gin tonic with sprite from the dispenser when schweppes is missing - really, this is a solution for them?). Personal pretty bored, not too happy with the tourists, except animation team (very good). Outside and around the hotel You can find a lot of trees and it is well maintained. The swimming pool has salty filtered water from the sea, this was something surprinsingly good. There is no pool or beach towels in the room, You have to pay neat the pool a 10 eur fee (But You can't find them always there), refundable, for each towel if You want any. There is no bar on the beach - actually there is a bar but it is extra paid if You want to order something and it is mainly for outside people (tunisians) that are comming there and also on the beach where they have a reserved place on the beach and the tourists can't stay there. The beach is pretty narrow, but the sand is white and very fine both on the beach and in the water. The water is pretty dirty near the water entrance because of the plants/grass from the sea but it is cleaned from time to time and after aprox 1-2 meters, the water was clean and warm. Be carefull with the small jellyfish (you can see them like "rings" in the water not biggher then 8-10 cm) - they have small tentacles and if they touch You, it hurts a bit, the pain lasts for a few hours sometimes - the hurt is dispersing if You use salt water, hot sand on the area and not scratching (sometimes vinegar or coca cola can help to get rid faster of the stiching/itching, no normal water from bottles, this doesn't help). Water is pretty small for a few meters, very good for small children. There are nautical sports on the beach, You can negotiate. Only 1 shop in the hotel reception and nothing around the hotel. Change eur or usd to dinars because the prices are better like this. They ask You for eur/usd if You use this currencies. Exchange rate in aug 2026 aprox 1 eur for 3.37 dinars - established by the state, the difference is pretty small (but hotels take advantage and give less dinars). Keep the receipt received from bank or place where You make the exchange because You will.need it if you want to change back dinars to eur/usd. You can find VIP taxi on internet that can take You for aprox 15-20 dinars/persons (4-6 eur) to visit Monastir or other close cities or areas - You can discuss on WhatsApp with them.

What claims to be a respectable 4-star resort is, in reality, a huge disappointment and nowhere near the standards it advertises. The rooms are dirty, and the cleaning is done very superficially. The bathroom is in terrible condition: the fixtures are old and damaged, and the shower is covered in limescale, giving the impression that it has not been properly cleaned for a very long time. You can already tell what to expect as soon as you walk through the hotel’s hallways. The carpets are filthy and look as though they haven’t been properly cleaned in ages. The bed linen is worn out and stained, giving the impression that it is not changed properly between guests. Even after leaving a tip for housekeeping, nothing improved. The bedding was simply straightened on the bed, without giving the impression that it had been replaced. Had I known this was the level of service, I would have brought my own bed linen from home and changed it myself. Even the pillows appeared to have simply been turned over, leaving the impression that they had not been replaced either. There is a constant unpleasant smell throughout the hotel, and whenever that smell fades, it is replaced by a strong sewage odor. Unfortunately, the sewage smell can also be noticed inside the rooms and around the so-called pool bar. The sun loungers by the pool are extremely dirty and look as if they haven’t been cleaned for years. The pool bar is advertised as one of the resort’s attractions, yet the selection of drinks is very limited, with only a handful of options available. The hotel also boasts a “snack bar,” but the selection is almost non-existent: a few pastries and, from time to time, a low-quality sandwich. It would be better not to advertise a snack bar at all than to offer something so disappointing. The beach is in a deplorable condition. Algae are left to accumulate along the shoreline without anyone making even the slightest effort to remove them. Rubbish seems to be part of the landscape, with garbage bags, old tires, and other waste scattered around. On the right-hand side, as you walk onto the beach, there is a drainage outlet flowing into the sea, where even more trash has accumulated, including tires, garbage bags, and various other debris. It creates a truly unpleasant and neglected impression. The tables on the outdoor terrace are so dirty and covered in built-up grime that they look as though they haven’t been properly cleaned in a very long time. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. The cleanliness, maintenance, and overall service are far below what anyone should expect from a resort that advertises itself as a 4-star property. The only thing that seems worthy of four stars is the price. I certainly will not return, and I cannot recommend this resort to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and enjoyable holiday.
