Hotel Tour Khalef

Our arrival at the hotel almost filled us with trepidation as the rooms weren’t ready, the reception area seemed chaotic and we were directed to the restaurant to entertain ourselves while we waited. After half an hour or so we finally had a room and our initial apprehensions were quickly diminished as the room was lovely, well-equipped, spotlessly clean with a fully stocked fridge, a safe and very nice toiletries. The slippers were a nice touch but we found the absence of a robe (particularly for a 5star hotel) disappointing. The balcony was a good size and great for drying clothes etc. The beds were super comfortable, spacious and didn’t creak and squeak. There were extra pillows, duvets and blankets if needed. The TV was set up for signing into your Netflix, Disney or YouTube accounts so that was handy as the channels , especially English, were very limited. It would have been good to have the sports channels available as the World Cup was just starting and the downstairs area was busy, with one tv placed in an awkward position for group viewing. The hotel itself is huge, but it doesn’t take long to navigate once you’ve had a wander. The foyer and lobby are very well maintained and the toilets are always clean and tidy. There are bars dotted around the place and little self-service coffee machines , which do a mean hot chocolate! There are no self-service machines for beers, wine and juices as we’ve experienced in other hotels but it was easy enough to nip to a bar for any drinks we needed. The pool areas were reasonably busy, a mix of ages, cultures and nationalities, but there was never any hassle that we noticed. There was an abundance of sunbeds and you could take them to a spot on the grass if you wanted a quieter place to chill. The pool towels are available from the lovely lady at the barn and you can change them every day. The beach is a two minute walk from the hotel and we loved it. Again, never an issue getting a sunbed, staff were on hand to assist. You could get waiter service or go to the bar as necessary. Please be advised that the beach got MUCH busier at weekends and the restaurant there becomes a place for locals and the hotel guests can’t use it. There are 3 restaurants, but we never used the speciality Italian or seafood, we found the food in the main restaurant absolutely amazing. It was always super fresh and plentiful, with a wide variety of choice. We loved every meal. A big shout out to Fatem and Abdelhamid for being the best servers, always getting our table and remembering our drinks and preferences. The hospitality and friendliness of all staff, from the room cleaners to the bartenders and management was fab. The hotel also has a tennis court, pickleball courts, spa, gym and indoor pool. All of this is free, with courts needing booked but we never had an issue. There’s also French boules, table tennis and volleyball. You can also book Padel which is in the resort, but this is an independent club and costs about £25 for 90mins. Treat yourself to a spa service, we had the lovely Jamila who gave us the Hammam treatment, I’ve never felt so smooth and clean! Prices are reasonable. We never saw the evening entertainment as we ventured out and about, which was really good. Sousse is buzzing at night and we walked end to end taking in the sights and sounds. Transport is ten a penny and there are several ways to get from A-B if you don’t fancy walking, including the Dolly Train, horse and carriage, crazy fast danger buses (Louage) and taxis. The Médina and old town are amazing, the souks are a hive of activity and bustling with locals selling their wares. Haggle but don’t be disrespectful, be assertive without being arrogant. You won’t get too much hassle. Cats! If you’re a lover, take an extra suitcase because you’re going to want to bring them all home. They do love a little treat of ham or chicken. If you don’t like them, just ignore them and they ignore you. Sousse is a beautiful place, steeped in history and culture, lots of lovely architecture and interesting buildings, take time to look at the detail. Sadly, littering in the area is an issue and it is quite dirty. The locals take no care of the beach and we collected loads of bottles and rubbish that they left behind. This is a shame as the beach is so lovely. Also, EVERYONE smokes - this is ok in general in open spaces - but prevented us going into some places as it was just unbearably smoky and not pleasant at all. For a lovely experience you should visit the nearby Bellini rooftop bar and have a cocktail or two! I would recommend , if you’re looking for a fun activity, visiting Jungle Parc, a treetop climbing experience in the nearby El Kzar Hotel, you’ll spend a good hour laughing, swinging and falling about for about £6. We highly recommend the Jaz Tour Khalef Hotel, the location is good and amenities are excellent. We had a lovely time and thank the staff for a warm welcome. Merci!

Really good hotel with very friendly staff. Plenty of sunbeds around both salt and chlorine pools which were both amazing. Wide selection of drinks and food choices. My partner is vegetarian and struggled for the first couple of days however once we spoke with hotel staff about this, it was amended and the choice became much better, I would advise mentioning any dietary needs as soon as you arrive. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping is brilliant. Special mention to Hazem at the Pool Bar and Abdelhamid in the resteraunt, both of them treated us amazingly throughout our stay and are an asset to the hotel. Our experience was made so much better by their attentiveness. This is some of the best service we have received whilst on holiday. The towel lady (sorry I didn’t catch her name) at the lifeguard hut is amazing too!

We were a group of 3 ladies from Romania having a holiday of 7 days în yout hotel. We want to express our satisfaction for excelent accomodation,restaurants and staff. Najiba supervisor was very kind and profesional with us even there were some small complaints. She managed all very good. We will recomand the place and want to come back again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would happily return in the future. From the moment we arrived, all of the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made our holiday even more enjoyable. A special thank you goes to Aya from Guest Relations, who went above and beyond to ensure my mum and I had a fantastic stay. She was always kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our holiday special. Aya even organised a beautiful birthday surprise in my mum's room, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made her day unforgettable. We are so grateful for everything she did for us. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice and variety at every meal. The pool bar deserves a special mention as it offered the best service, fantastic staff, and a great selection of drinks. Everything felt premium quality, and the drinks were excellent. The entertainment and animation team were also brilliant. They were friendly, energetic, and created a fun atmosphere throughout the day. What we particularly appreciated was that they were never pushy if you didn't want to join in with activities, but always made everyone feel welcome. Thank you to Aya and the entire hotel team for making our stay so memorable. We had a fantastic time and look forward to returning in the future.
