well went with thomas cook flew with easy jet great service there from day one not good 1 we also arrived about 7pm not met at door by anyone walked in did not feel welcome but by time we got booked in was about 930pm 2 no food able had order in 3 got taken to our room and start of nightmare began 4 we had booked 2 bedrooms got 1 large bed we were mum and son adults 5 then if that was not bad enough it still had people in it !!! 6 back to reception we were taken after a hour waiting we were taken to our new room again 1 double bed when i refused the room got told we bring you a mattress to sleep on till morning!! come back at 10am ' 7 went back at 10am got told manager not in till 2pm went nuts as im was tired felt hungry and pissed off YET SECURITY TOLD US SHE WAS THE MANAGER!!!!! 8 the manger kept telling us they not in yet be if waited till 2pm we not gt a change of room because of all people coming in to book 8 back to this room phone thomas cook for third time 9 finally got room at 330pm hole beyond the room 5 flights up 10 we paid for 2 bedrooms got one with bunkbeds and double bed 11 ac if can call it that did not blow air out attall i could blow more wind than it gave 12 the room was not really clean room only got cleaned 9 days after we got there 13 well the room was in a new part i loved to know where but i 14 mostly i had paid for a sea view or pool view what i got was 4 walls couldnt see anything but walls 15 yes we had up towel too twice got left hand towels only 16 i can except no fridge issue u had to hire one but no kettle in that heat to keep bringing up drinks the stair way was dirty spills everywhere 17 food was a let down breakfast was a not good selection i alergic to eggs everything nearly was eggs ie pancakes donuts french rolls i lived on chip roll with salad for 11 days yes had cearel but milk was kept in a container so was warm drinks ques were bad but warm drinks 16 lunch time was normally good you could find odd days good night time forget it the meals were often cold or look warm thats was my issue everything was pasta again alergric the ques were bad often run out of food so you waited for replacement part of problem if thay had staff standing by the amount the forigen customer were taking was discusting thats if you find a table on top of that the only fruit thay had was melon!! ugh cakes were dangous throngs were sticking not much selection only now and ag!!!ain if you got there just as replaced trays but outher wise mid selection THE ENTERMAINMENT GAVE UP WITH THAT NOT ENOUGH SEATS !!! it was still hot plus no bar there so if you got up to get drink i dont drink tea total !!!!!you lost your seat. some reason sun beds were hard to get people were getting up at 5am to put towels on but pools didnt open till 9am we went for a walk at 1oam this familys were taking towels out not enough shades last day thay started putting more out the good thing was the pool lovery clean the snack bar!!! well chips and panni im sorry but thats not a good choice

We arrived at the hotel after 9pm and, as it was an all-inclusive resort, we expected some food to be available for guests arriving late. Unfortunately, there was nothing provided, and we had to pay 30 dinars for three waffles because we were so hungry. We have stayed in several all-inclusive hotels before, and there has always been some form of late-night food available, so this was very disappointing. When we arrived in our room, we found one double bed and two very small single beds. My son is 20 years old, but he was expected to sleep in one of the tiny single beds, with his feet hanging over the end all night. It really wasn’t suitable for an adult and made for a very uncomfortable first night. The following day, instead of relaxing by the pool, I spent most of my time going back and forth to reception trying to get our room changed. I visited reception around six times and was given different times to come back throughout the day. Eventually, after speaking to the manager and explaining the situation, he kindly arranged for us to move to another room, which I really appreciated. The second room was much better. It was larger and had a balcony, unlike the first room. However, the air conditioning wasn’t working, the toilet wasn’t flushing properly and took forever to flush, and there were only two towels provided for four people. I asked reception in the morning for more towels, but by around 4pm they still hadn’t arrived. In the end, I had to find a cleaner myself to get enough towels. There was no lift, no hairdryer in the room, and no towel service for the pool or beach. We were told we couldn’t use the room towels by the pool, which was very inconvenient. Every all-inclusive hotel we have stayed at before has provided pool towels and a hairdryer as standard. Because there was no hairdryer, I had to wash my hair early, sit in the sun waiting for it to dry naturally, and then style it later in the evening. The food was another disappointment. There were not many options available, and the menu was very repetitive. The same dishes were served day after day, with very little variety, which became boring during the week. I would also advise guests not to buy swimming equipment from the hotel shop. The quality was poor, and when we had a problem with an item, the shop refused to take any responsibility or help resolve the issue. On the positive side, the reception staff were always polite and tried their best to help, even though they were extremely busy. The cleaners, entertainment team and restaurant staff all worked hard and were friendly. The beach was beautiful, the sea was lovely, the pool was nice, although it became quite crowded, and the sunshine was amazing. These were definitely the best parts of the holiday. Overall, while the beach, sea, sunshine and hardworking staff made our holiday enjoyable, the hotel itself was disappointing. There were too many issues with the rooms, facilities, food and organisation for a hotel advertised as all-inclusive. With better room standards, improved facilities, more food choices and better organisation, this hotel could offer a much better experience. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not return.

We stayed at this resort from the 20-27th June, and to say i feel let down is an understatement, the hotel itself isn’t that bad, it’s clean, some of the staff are good, animation team is good if you have kids, but my experience wasn’t good if I’m being honest with the overall experience. The room was okay, no tv which was a shame with all the football on but not a deal breaker, beds where comfy, bathroom was a decent size and no complaints with the room or noise, how ever the dining experience was the absolute worst experience in any hotel i have ever stayed at, 99% of this is down to the locals and Algerians on holiday, who are by far the most rude and obnoxious people i have ever come across, pushing infront of queues of people patiently waiting for food or drinks, guests piling food across the tables and leaving 90% of it, had 2/3 nights where we only had a slice or two of pizza and some chips as there was simply no food left, the drinks system is the most pathetic system i have ever seen, we had to get snacks at the shops the last 2/3 nights, that is the first time needing to do that anywhere, the food itself isn’t horrific (if you can get any). There is way to many people for the facilities, the first 4 days we didn’t see a spare sunbed by the pool, the beach was the only thing keeping us sane as it was peaceful and not filled with locals and Algerians, I guess the place is alright if you have kids but we bumped into several British people who all shared the same views, one couple had been to Tunisia 6 times and said this was by far the worst hotel they’ve been to, another couple had to change rooms 3 times within the first 12 hours, the experience was topped off on the final morning when the night prior we had confirmed the transfer time just incase, low and behold nobody arrived so we had to pay for a taxi (which luckily got refunded) but the reception lady couldn’t care less she just said bye, wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t return, if the hotel sorted out the ridiculous number of locals and holiday makers, sorted out the dining experience it would of honestly been a great hotel, but it was by far relaxing, and I need another holiday just to get over this one

We’re currently at the halfway point of our holiday, so I thought I’d leave an honest review based on our experience so far. We arrived at the hotel at 11am on Thursday, completed the check-in paperwork and were told to return at 3pm for our room. We had some lunch while we waited - it was busy, but we managed to get something to eat. Unfortunately, when 3pm arrived, chaos broke out at reception. There was a huge crowd of people all trying to get served with no organised queue. We ended up waiting 1 hour and 50 minutes to receive our room key, despite being told several times that our room would be ready “shortly”. After finally getting the key, we then had to join another crowd to pay the tourist tax. We were shown to Room 642, which involved climbing seven flights of stairs as there are no lifts in the hotel. The room wasn’t what we had booked - it had no balcony, five beds (2 up some stairs), only one chair and a stool, no hairdryer, and the air conditioning barely worked. We returned to reception and were told we’d have to wait until the following morning to change rooms. We were exhausted, so we went to bed early, but being directly opposite the pool slides and entertainment stage meant the music was incredibly loud in the room. The following morning, breakfast was another hectic experience. People were pushing in, and the dining area was very busy. The food was mediocre at best. My little one loved the pancakes, and the bread was lovely, but the rest wasn’t really to our taste. Reception did arrange for us to move rooms, although we didn’t receive the new room until around 3:30pm and after asking 4 times when we could move. It’s much closer to what we originally expected, but there are still issues. There’s still no hairdryer, we haven’t been able to connect to the Wi-Fi, the toilet smells strongly of urine and leaks, and today it stopped flushing for several hours. We also lost water completely for a while, meaning we couldn’t shower or bathe our little one. The air conditioning is slightly better than the first room but still isn’t great. As for the food, there are a few things we’ve enjoyed, particularly the salads, but overall it’s probably the poorest all-inclusive food we’ve experienced. We weren’t expecting luxury from a three-star hotel, but we did expect better. The biggest issue is the constant queues, only to find many of the food trays empty by the time you reach the front. We’re hoping the à la carte restaurant tomorrow will be a better experience. The pool snack bar also has queues almost constantly from opening until closing. The entertainment has been fairly repetitive. One live duo was very good, but everything else has been quite average. Based on recent reviews, we were expecting a lot more. The pools themselves are lovely, and there’s plenty of space to cool off. However, if you want a sunbed with a mattress and a parasol, you’ll need to be up very early, otherwise you simply won’t get one. The drinks have been hit and miss. The vodka tastes quite strange (I’m glad I picked up a bottle at the airport before we travelled), the beer is fine, and the soft drinks are what you’d expect. Cocktails vary depending on who’s making them, so you never quite know what you’ll get. The on-site shop is reasonably priced though. Outside the hotel, there’s very little within walking distance. There are a few bars nearby, but they seemed to be mainly full of people smoking, so they weren’t somewhere we’d want to take a young child. One tip I’d definitely recommend is taking plenty of bottled water back to your room. Bringing a small cool bag is also a good idea, as you can ask for ice from the bar. There’s no fridge or way to keep drinks cool in the room. We haven’t visited the beach yet, but from what we’ve seen, it looks perfectly nice. Our older son enjoys using the gym, and while it was usable, it has definitely seen better days. Some of the equipment is quite dated and could do with being updated or replaced. The hotel has been much busier than we expected. We hadn’t really considered that it would also be popular with local families during their summer holidays, which explains the crowds around the pools, restaurants and entertainment. People selling trips and extras: Be prepared for people approaching you every day to sell excursions, jewellery and other extras. They’re generally polite enough, but it can become a little repetitive if you’re just trying to relax by the pool. On a positive note, most of the staff have been lovely. The restaurant staff, especially the lads clearing and setting the tables, have worked incredibly hard and always looked after us. The only exception has been the gentleman working behind the reception bar, who hasn’t been particularly friendly. Overall, we’re disappointed. We’ve made the best of our holiday and have still managed to enjoy ourselves, but unfortunately it hasn’t lived up to expectations. Sadly, based on this experience, it’s put us off returning to Tunisia in the future.

I am writing this review mid way through my stay at Houda Golf & Beach Resort, Tunisia (June 2026). I will break down into relevant sections, but the main takeaway is that while the infrastructure of the hotel is good, the hotel experience and organisation lead to a chaotic environment, rather than a stress-free wind down that most book their holiday for. Overcrowded, chaotic scenes have led to fights breaking out in the lobby and general unrest. Despite always being open minded and having previously stayed at similar star hotels and booked via budget providers (Love Holidays), I would not recommend visiting this hotel. Rooms: The rooms are basic, but have all the required amenities including air conditioning and a hair dryer and the beds are comfortable. Our block was quiet and the WiFi was strong in the rooms and throughout the hotel. The rooms are showing signs of wear and tear / dating, but I never mind this. It is a base to sleep and to get changed and you have to be realistic of the destination and star rating. Room check in was 3pm, but we were allowed to have access to dining and facilities while we awaited our room. There was a maintenance issue where the shower came off the wall fixing. This was reported before dinner and fixed by the time we returned to the room the same evening - which was appreciated and efficient. Food/dining: Sadly the efficiency of the maintenance team certainly does not transcend to that of the dining room / buffet restaurant. I am a realistic booker and traveller, and have travelled to many 3 star / average hotels, including booking through budget provided such as Love Holidays in this instance. The dining experience is anything but relaxing and is the worst experience I have had in a hotel restaurant. While the food is plentiful and there is something for everyone, there are far too many people at meal times and it can only be described as a plaque of locusts at every meal time. This inevitably leads to a constant lack of cutlery, plates, tables and queuing. There are no self serve drinks dispensers, so you have to join a massive queue each time to be given a tiny thimble sized paper cup full of bottled fizzy drink. Usually meal times on holiday are good to unwind, relax and enjoy. This is not so, and is a downside to the holiday so far. There is a snack bar pool side which does panini, pizza and fries. We decided to utilise this instead of going to the lunchtime service at the buffet. There are cooking stations, but these are largely fish (which I don’t eat) and the queues were always large. The food is extremely repetitive and we visited the hotel shop for snacks on a number of occasions, despite never usually needing to do this when staying all incisive. Pools & beach: The pools are big, clean and well kept. Unfortunately, there is a lack of sun loungers and shade, which meant we always went to the beach, where there has always been somewhere to sit. There are water sports on the beach for an additional fee. Sun loungers and shade are free for hotel users. Entertainment: There is an animation team that look busy doing water polo, archery and other sports, but we didn’t utilise this. The evening entertainment so far has been just music and a mini disco for children. Again, a lack of seats in this area. They have been showing the World Cup games on a projector inside, but the room is very hot with no air conditioning. Overall, we didn’t pay a lot, so didn’t expect a lot. This hotel would probably more suit families better than someone looking for a relaxing holiday, although possibly not given we witnessed 2 fights within the main reception area in the same day... While hotel infrastructure is good, size of rooms, pools, dining room etc, the experience really lets it down and the existing infrastructure isn’t fully utilised. The hotel is not necessarily dirty, but the amount of people there make for untidy and unkept areas particularly in areas that see frequent use such as the restaurant or toilets. Another point to mention is that there seems to be a lot of locals/Algerians here on the weekend on day or weekend passes, which adds to the already chaotic experience. I cannot complain, as this was a cheap all inclusive holiday, but I would likely not encourage people to stay here if you are seeking a relaxing stay, especially if you save up hard all year and this is your only holiday.
