Houda Golf Beach & Aquapark

Arrived from a previous hotel after a move checked in only to take tourist tax no bands given key card given no help or nothing ....after pulling our cases up 4 flights of stairs the room was OK no tv no fridge no kettle by the way I paid an extra lot of money to be moved..... same night I walked in the restaurant to be told I could only have 3 chicken nuggets and couldn't leave with my plate ... we booked the al a carte to be served a warm prawn on wilted brown lettuce dusted in chilli flakes then arrived a small piece of lasagne which was cold then a bowl of chicken soup swimming with grease which was horrible and then some cold spaghetti and some slimy chicken (presentation was good ) then after chasing round i booked the snack bar which a pizza came not good and a steak after reminding them we had ordered it came an hour later which was like rubber and chips that wasn't cooked and cold rice .... the restaurant opens at 12.30 but 12 o clock people are lining up round the place a panini takes over an hour to get as they only cook 6 at a time if you go to the bar you have wait for some time as they only make 1 type of cocktail of the day so you have to wait so if you want beer good luck .....the hotel has so much potential with the golf links and the aqua park but the food is terrible and unless u tip you have to queue up

It’s not what I was expecting right at the start, The reception lobby looks like a Vegetable market, Staff rude not helping at all, Rooms are outdated and could do with an upgrade, Noises everywhere and not relaxing at all. Never again.

When we arrived at the hotel reception staff were very rude and to check in we had to take a screen shot of our booking reference and email the reception which I have never experienced this farce. Waited a couple of hours for our room which we had paid £80 extra for. I was in shock with how dirty and dated it was (no safe, no fridge, no tv) we went back down to reception the make a complaint to then be taken into the back managers office with all staff in the same room and was offered an upgrade with a free safe and fridge. When we arrived to our room upgrade I was still in shock and started crying as the only thing about the upgrade was a second bedroom which we did not need and we were there as a couple. Still no fridge, safe was in the wardrobe with no key. Went back to reception to see about our free safe and fridge, they changed their tune and requested money for a key for the safe and denied the fridge. So we got nothing, maids only made our beds, emptied bins and left towels and one toilet roll, no floors brushed and polished, place was disguisting! I was kept awake my first two nights with the cleaners cupboard door banging next door to us, bed was solid hard. We had no maid service last two days so one towel between us for showers, food was out of this world disguisting! Only catered for locals, had to stand in direct sun for pizza, chips and panini’s for 40mins to an hour, salt in dish and everyone’s hands went in it to salt chips. Plates, cutlery and full restaurant dirty, rude locals pushing in to get food, it was crazy, taking large plates of food and not eating and leaving nothing for anyone else went down one morning at 9am for breakfast and no food left. I am not a fussy eater but the food was 🤢 in our room our curtain pole was that rusty that is disintegrated and fell down and one side, tables in reception and windows dirty, walking from reception to restaurant were rubbish lying on ground and smelling of cat pee. Beach dirty with rubbish a cigarette ends, sea dirty green with lots of jelly fish, seaweed and rubbish. We woke up at 5:30am every morning to put our towels out as you had no other choice, when we did on one day we went down and some rude person had moved our towels onto one sunbed and taken our other sunbed which we had reserved, we ended up eating out and paying for taxis which we didn’t want to do as it was all inclusive we had chosen. We had spoken to a lot of British families and couples which said the same as we did and that it was a holiday from hell. We would never return. Very dirty hotel, rude locals, rude reception staff, disguisting food. I could go on and on even more than I have but please AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!!!! I have never had to write a bad review on a holiday but I felt everyone needs to be aware. Also harassed by people trying to sell excursions and jewellery around 20 times her day and then when you go the the beach to relax it’s the same with harassing to buy beach towels constant. Not the relaxing holiday we were hoping for. I had requested to be relocated to another hotel when I called love holidays at 5am the day after we had arrived, gave photo evidence of our hotel and didn’t hear anything back until the day before our departure. I have emailed today again and still no response. Also there are no lifts just lots of stairs and it wasn’t fun with us being on the top floor having to climb them multiple times with a bad knee

Location-excellent. Atmosphere-good. Reception and the entire surrounding clean and well managed. Rooms-very poor-ie-poor internet, one bar or nothing, lime scale on the taps, bathroom wall, my room tap was faulty-running at a speed of a snail. No televisions, no kettles, shampoo and towels was an issue for us. Receptionist-poor not coordinated can leave you standing (in front of them as your turn) and attend to someone who comes in and speaks (Arabian,French,Tunisian). Request are forgotten to log in. Example needed a change of room, promised 10am the following day. No trail of handover for about 3 different attempts. Finally had a change of room at 5pm. Mere shower gel/towel request can go for over 5hours to receive the item. With the aid of the customer service, delays were still eminent but politeness was improved. Get ready to haggle for prices and every favour believes deserves to be dipped.

Location is OK but a bit far to travel in the courtesy bus. Too many hotel stops in the heat . a no no. The hotel is dated but once we got checked in and got our room, we were fairly happy. The air con worked, but a towel was needed to catch the drips onto the floor otherwise that was an accident waiting to happen. The water went off a few times, always when we wanted to flush the loo ? . Beds clean and not too hard. Pool area nice but the towel brigade were out early. Pleanty beds but hard to sit on. The pool guards were kind enough to get spare lounge mattresses for us without being asked. Pool bar fine. Snacks of pizza, panninis and chips were good. Yes you queued but its a huge hotel. Lunch was chaos. Queues from the start. We found it funny. Waiters are nice and even helped us find tables which was a bonus . If you are nice to the staff, they will be nice to you. The food forms lunch and evening meal is fair, so if you are a fussy eater, don't go to this hotel. We were fine with it and made the best of our holiday. Animation team brilliant. Pool guards are on the ball watching what's going on and telling folk off. Great work. All in all, we had a great time but you get what you pay for. Remember it's a foreign country.!!!
