Iberostar Selection Diar El Andalous

We had a wonderful holiday at Iberostar Diar El Andalous. Although the hotel is rated 5 stars, I believe it would benefit from a refurbishment, as there are a few areas that need improvement. However, these minor drawbacks were more than compensated for by the overall experience. The food was absolutely exceptional, and I would like to congratulate the head chef and the entire kitchen team for their outstanding work. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the entertainment team did a fantastic job throughout our stay. When we return to Tunisia, we will definitely stay here again. Why change when everything was so enjoyable? 😀

I took my family (11 People - 6 Adults and 5 children) to this hotel for 5 nights and it was simply brilliant! Location - Its like a 30 minute taxi ride from Enifdha Airport which costed £70 for a mini bus which was pre booked by myself via a private company as the hotel don't offer this. On the way back to the airport, I booked 3 local taxis which cost £51. In regards to the hotel location, perfectly situated for a sun drenched, pool and beach holiday. The beach is literally a minute walk from the pool and main restaurant. You can get to main Sousse easily by taxi for shopping, old town etc but we didn't nee to do any of this. Rooms - we has 3 rooms in total, 2 x family rooms and 1 interconnected room (which is basically 2 rooms together accessed via a main door - perfect for larger families, which is why we needed it. Rooms were very clean and had everything that was needed. Bathrooms were very clean with a good powerful shower. The cleaners were brilliant and helped with a genuine smile on their faces and always seemed to be along the corridor constantly, so easy to find and ask for help.. Clean towels on request, topped up coffee pods, beds made early, mopped etc. A particular mention to Syeda, Olva, Bakhta (from team 5 I think) who were simply amazing with me and my kids every day. No request was too much for them and they truly made this stay so much better, the hotel should be proud of them! Hotel facilities - To be honest, I didn't really use many of the facilities available, as with kids, the pool, beach and ice cream bar got really heavily used! The buffet restaurants had a good mix of food each day, all fresh and cooked well and so so much variety and yet even still, chefs were happy to accommodate requests - I constantly asked for everything with some extra chilli in it. The snack bar got used throughout the day to top up on snacks, fruit, pizza and all things kids love and was located so close to the pool, the kids just helped themselves. All of the team here were great with the kids as well. The atmosphere at the hotel was very relaxed and overall, which is really nice to see. I didn't see any issues with staff or customers, creating a good vibe throughout my stay. A special thank you to Aladdin (yes that's really his name) who booked us two great trips - 1 was the Quad Biking and 2nd was the boat trip. All done with such ease and efficiency and the family enjoyed both trips. He is your top to man for these trips. Overall, this is the perfect resort for a family holiday, great location, great facilities, very clean, staff were amazing, felt really secure and safe with young children and we all really enjoyed our 5 nights stay. I would happily go back again.

I am writing this review to describe the check-in experience at this “5 star hotel” in reality a 3 star at most, with our host, a mister called I think from what I understood Mundir, given the fact that staff do not wear any badges and the identity is difficult to confirm. A first red flag of this hotel chain. We arrived at aproximately 00am. The check-in process was due to hold approximately 10 minutes give or take. We booked a full sea view room for a duration of two weeks. We insisted we were tired and wanted to go to the room and see the room first, but the check in person insisted to go to eat. The menu is attached in the photo, probably left overs from today’s breakfast. Beware the still water is not bottled, it’s most probably faucet water in a refillable mug. If you expected at least bottled water, bad luck. When we got up and insisted again to go to the room, we received a room in the furthest possible hallway and the sea view… is for you to decide photos attached. I went downstairs insisting I paid for two weeks and wanted to change the room with a better one but the front desk attendant insisted it is only possible in the morning, a classic trick to make you lose interest in the room change and get what they want you to get. The hallways and the room smell like the ones in a house not opened for 20 years and there is no ac on the hallways. It is hot even in the evening, I cannot imagine in the daytime, so old folks or the ones with heart problems beware. The minibar was not even turned on, the door doesn’t close. And if the hotel was so full as they implied, i doubt the room would have smelled like that. The room ac even on high level has a very low fan speed. I’ll let you decide for yourself if you want to come here, and think twice about it, given the fact that they treat you as such when you stay for so many days. At least do not pay for a sea view cause it’s a rip off. It’s really a shame that management doesn’t see this things. Maybe we’ll have better luck next time😪

We have travelled as a family to many hotels over the years, both in the UK and abroad, and this has to be one of our favourites. The main reason for that is the wonderful staff. I have never experienced such polite, friendly, helpful and hardworking staff, from the housekeeping team to the waiters and entertainment staff. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. This hotel truly understands the meaning of hospitality. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and both the pools and surrounding areas are beautifully maintained. There is a choice of two pools – one is a little quieter than the other – but both are conveniently located close to the bar. There are plenty of pool games throughout the day, and we were even treated to a fantastic water ballet show, complete with a very catchy dance that the entertainment team performs several times a day. The snack bar offers a great selection of food for anyone who doesn’t want to visit the main restaurant at lunchtime. The restaurant itself is clean and well organised, with plenty of food available. While some dishes can be a little repetitive, there is still an excellent variety, with something to suit even the fussiest of eaters. The evening entertainment is varied and caters for all ages, from the kids’ disco to live singers and themed party nights. Overall, we had a fantastic family holiday and would happily return. A huge thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.
