It was definitely not up to the 5-star standard we are used to elsewhere. The room had a strong musty smell throughout our entire stay. The towels were just carelessly tossed in the bathroom, making us question at first glance whether they were even clean. I would expect the scent of cleanliness, at least after the daily housekeeping. While the beds were made, the floor looked unswept. On top of that, our top sheets were taken away twice during cleaning, forcing us to repeatedly ask for them at reception—after that, we declined housekeeping altogether. Twice during our stay, there was a foul smell outside as well, suggesting an issue with the sewage system. The hotel garden is beautiful with plenty of palm trees, and the pools were nice. However, the highly praised beach was a huge disappointment—it was narrow and littered with washed-up seaweed that was never cleared away. The swimming area was confined by nets and buoys, and jet skis were constantly revving nearby while staff blew whistles over our heads to promote the parasailing attraction, so there was absolutely no peace and quiet. Furthermore, the water seemed to contain chopped-up pieces of jellyfish caused by the jet skis, which caused an unpleasant stinging sensation; once, I got a severe sting on my neck. The food was fine. The travel agency’s description claimed the hotel was "suitable for demanding clientele," but in our opinion, not a chance. They also frequently approach guests with tablets in hand, begging for excellent reviews.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. I truly enjoyed my experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay. I look forward to visiting again!

I went to El Mansour for a 2 week holiday with my daughter a week ago and it was an absolute amazing experience. I read the reviews before hand & this is why I choose it. I was a bit sceptical at first because the reviews were so good but if you read between the lines you can normally get a feel for a place. When stepping foot through the door I was instantly made to feel welcome. The porter organise my booking whilst he offer me food in the restaurant at 11:30 pm. After finishing the meal the room was ready & he carried my luggage up. What a great start to my holiday. First class service and all done with a smile. This standard customer service was excellent throughout the whole of my stay from Hassem, & Niam serving drinks around the pool to everyone working at reception, to all the ladies in the spa & the restaurant. All the entertainment crew, so friendly & always happy to see you - first class!! And house keeping with a throughly cleaned room & their excellent towel art. Everyone had a smile on their face & nothing was too much trouble. The spa ladies were excellent & I had some amazing treatments that were great value for money. If you like a spa day it’s highly recommended. The restaurant had a very good choice of food every day with grilled meats, fish & seafood. Plus, an excellent choice of Tunisian cuisine, & desserts. The ice parlour was a welcome choice in the afternoon in the hot sun with quality ice creams. The hotel is spotless! Whatever time of the day you are around there’s someone cleaning, maintaining the beautiful gardens or the beach. I have to say that because of the staff’s friendly attitude it rubs off on everyone in the hotel. My experience with other guest was very friendly & warm. Well done to the management for instilling this ethos as it’s what makes for such a memorable experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. First class service without & massive price tag. Well done to all at El Mansour you excelled!’
