Royal Thalassa Monastir

This is the first time I’ve written a review, but felt due to some of the previous reviews, I needed to do one. We stayed as a couple in June for 10 days. The location of the hotel is a little isolated, so if you like a stroll after dinner it wouldn’t be ideal, however taxi’s are frequent enough to visit the near-by towns. The food was always fresh, and a massive variety. You could have something different every day. From quail, to veal and calf liver. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard, plus the pool area, reception and beach was always clean. We had a huge storm one night, and the beach team worked hard to clean up the debris from the sea. The thing I feel that lets this hotel down are the drinks. All the spirits tasted the same, and the cocktail choice was very limited. The staff work so hard with what they have, but small plastic cups and drinks out of bottles is not ideal. They weren’t always chilled and flat on occasion. Surely a soda machine would be so much more economical and environmentally friendly. The barmen, especially Med Ali who worked at the bar on the hill was exceptional. Running around, bringing drinks to the sun loungers etc. The entertainment team work so hard, they were all so friendly. Asking us to take part, and not pushy if we said no. Overall we had a great stay at this hotel. Some management were inappropriate in the way they spoke to their staff, shouting at them in front of guests when they already work so hard. We did not experience and rudeness from anyone. We would return if the drinks situation was improved, and perhaps used proper glasses for the evening drinks. Red wine is not great out of a plastic cup. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Location was perfect Atmosphere was great round the pool, the pool team and the bar staff were good. cocktails there was only four and they were poor quality. Room disappointing - had twins bed - BUT also a third bed in front of the patio doors - which had to be moved in order for us to access the terrace. - see photo 1 The room was clean. However on two occasions we had no towels in our room, the first time, hubby found a housekeeper and she sorted it out, then on the last day again no towels, so after visiting reception and them doing nothing and waiting an hour, we ended up using the sheets on the third bed to dry ourselves. The food was edible, but repetitive, we loved our visit to the al la carte restaurant and our lunch in the beach restaurant. The outside of the building looks a bit tatty. see photo 2, 3 I don't think that having plastic cups to drink out of at the terrace watching the show is acceptable. I understand plastic for the pool area, but we are adults and should be able to use glasses by the bar. The hotel manager sits in that area in the evening with his whole table having glasses to drink from, but the residents are given plastic. When I checked out the receptionist didn't even say thank you for staying, hope you had a great holiday, hopefully see you again. NOTHING - just took the key and said thats fine. So much for have a safe journey home !!!!. Overall, some good memories but the staff on reception are not good and housekeeping let the side down.

I had the best time here at the Royal Thalassa Monastir. We stayed for a week. The whole experience, especially the animation team made it for me and my fiance. ❤️ Momo, snoopy, willey, Bob and Dj Flaak gave us all their time and enthusiasm, never a dull moment with them, they had us laughing constantly. GIVE THEM YOUR TIME IF YOU WANT DAILY FUNNNN!! Thank you to each and every one of you. 🩵🩵 The beach was lots of fun. If you like the thrill and are a bit of an adrenaline junkie then the activities are really good. I recommend the sofa and lay down floats which they attach to a speed boat. You can fit around 2-4 people on it and it goes very fast against the waves. My fingers were aching afterwards trying to hold on😝 You can also do a speed boat ride yourself either solo or with one other person. I feel like the prices were very good for what you get out of the experience. They also have a card machine so you don’t have to pay cash if you do not have it. There is a buffet restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food especially at lunch and dinner was really nice 👌🏻 However, there were a few issues with the hotel room I.e plumbing issues and our door wasn’t working at some points. Overall the hotel was a great experience!! Would definitely recommend. I wish I had more pictures of the animation team to show. But you’ll see for yourselves 💗

The hotel is very good, the food is good, the cleanliness is good, the activities are good, especially Tony's; Tony is the best entertainer.
