The entertainment was top tire! We had a lot of fun during the day and also on night time. Also the location of the hotel is really nice with a beautiful beach and a large swimming pool. Really recomand it ❤️

We are staying here now its no way a 5 star more like 2 the restaurant is dirty, air conditioning is poor in the rooms and non existent in the restaurant or general areas. staff look down trodden and tried. The managers are rude to the staff. The food is very poor. The only good thing about this hotel is the pool and the weather. I cant stress enough how poor the standards off cleanliness is in the food area's there is only 1 bar open and service is terrible and tge drinks are even worse

We have just returned from what can only be described as a fabulous holiday at the Royal Thalassa. We honestly weren’t sure what to expect, we booked last minute with Hays travel and chose not to read the reviews due to this, but the hotel completely exceeded our expectations and we had a far better time than we could ever have imagined. The review is lengthy but I hope it will help. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how friendly, welcoming and accommodating the staff were. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and the genuine warmth of the staff really made our holiday. 🍽️ Food We were really impressed with the food. There was plenty of choice in the buffet restaurant, with something for everyone and lots of different options available. We enjoyed the food throughout our stay and never felt that we were short of choice. We also had a choice of eating in the other 2 restaurants for one night each during our stay. Obviously, when you stay somewhere abroad, the food is going to be different from what you might have at home and that’s part of the experience! We actually think one of the best pieces of advice we could give anyone staying here is to go with an open mind and embrace the local culture. If you arrive expecting everything to be exactly as it is back home, you may find things different to this review but if you embrace Tunisia, the food, the people, the culture and the way things are done, you will have a fabulous holiday. 🏊‍♀️ Pool & hotel The hotel itself was beautiful and exceptionally clean. The pool area was lovely, and the pool was both beautiful and very well maintained. One thing we particularly appreciated was that sunbed reservations didn’t seem to be a major issue during our stay. We never really struggled to find somewhere to sit, which made such a difference and meant we could actually relax rather than feeling that we had to get up at ridiculous o’clock to claim a sunbed! The whole hotel was kept incredibly clean and tidy, and you could see the staff constantly working to maintain the standards. 🛏️ Our room We stayed in room 230, which had a sea view and a pool view, and we were genuinely impressed by the size of the room. It was much bigger than we expected with a big wrap around balcony which was a real bonus. Having that extra outdoor space was lovely, and the view made it even better. Our room was cleaned beautifully every single day. Our cleaner consistently did a fabulous job, and we came back to a spotless room throughout our stay. 🌴 The staff The staff really are one of the biggest assets of this hotel. A special mention has to go to the indoor bar team, particularly the lovely barman who was a Liverpool fan! Unfortunately, I can’t remember his name. He was incredibly friendly, accommodating and always happy to have a chat. It was little interactions like this that made us feel so welcome and made the holiday feel personal rather than simply being another hotel stay. A huge shout out also to Wassem from the animation team. He was such a lovely guy, friendly, happy and chatty. In fact, the whole animation team were genuinely lovely. They were enthusiastic and friendly without ever making you feel really pressured to participate, which we really appreciated. I also want to mention Soulaima and Ayaya (I really hope I have her name right) who were two of the hosts in the restaurant. They were both absolutely lovely, so friendly and helpful, and always seemed genuinely pleased to see us. They would help us find a table and made us feel really welcomed whenever we went into the restaurant. Youssef, one of the waiters, also deserves a special mention. He was on hand to make sure we had everything we needed and was incredibly attentive. The rest of the restaurant staff were equally friendly and hardworking, and we really appreciated how much effort they put into making sure guests were looked after. The reception team were also helpful whenever we needed anything, and the easyJet representative was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful when we needed assistance. ❤️ Overall We genuinely had the most fabulous time at the Royal Thalassa. If I had to find one little thing to be picky about, it would probably be the air conditioning. We did find that we would have liked it to be a little cooler at times, especially as it was incredibly hot when we arrived. Having said that, we arrived during a heatwave, and looking back, perhaps not having the room absolutely freezing helped us acclimatise to the temperatures outside a little better! So honestly, it really wasn’t a big issue for us and certainly didn’t take away from what was otherwise a fantastic stay. Could we find little things that aren’t exactly the same as a UK hotel? Of course but we were in Tunisia! and that’s exactly the point. We would absolutely encourage anyone considering this hotel to go with the right attitude, embrace the local culture, enjoy the differences, talk to the staff, try the food and make the most of the experience. The friendliness of the Tunisian people, combined with the beautiful hotel, fantastic staff, lovely food, gorgeous pool and overall cleanliness, made this a holiday we will remember for a very long time and we would happily return to the Royal Thalassa.
