Royal Thalassa Monastir

We first stayed at Royal Thalassa Monastir in July 2025 and loved it so much that as soon as we got home, we booked another 10-night stay for June 2026. We’ve enjoyed it that much that we’ve already booked to return again next month, and we honestly can’t wait! What really makes this hotel so special is the animation team. A huge thank you to Momo, Snoopy and Panda, who work so hard every day to keep everyone entertained. They’re always smiling, laughing, getting everyone involved in activities and making sure guests have an amazing time. They really made our holiday unforgettable. During our stay, we also took a day trip into Sousse and visited the mall, which was a great way to explore the local area. The hotel itself is always clean and very well maintained. The housekeeping team does a fantastic job, and our room was spotless every day. The restaurant and bar staff are also brilliant—they work incredibly hard, are always friendly, and make sure your drinks are never empty. Royal Thalassa Monastir has become one of our favourite holiday destinations, and the fact that we’re returning for a third time says it all. We can’t wait to be back in just a couple of weeks!

Well what can I say about this hotel. We have just got back from a 10 day holiday here and this is not a 5 star hotel it's more like 3 star. The bar staff and the animation team, lifeguard were great and will do anything for you. The reception staff are rude. Food is not great we were there for 10 days and it was the same for for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not labeled very well either. Room was ok but would of been nice to have clean sheets everyday and more than a bin in the toilet. You have to pay a deposit for the pool towels but you do get this back. There is no shop in hotel or ATM. You have to walk to the airport for ATM which is about 15 min walk and you have to cross a main road which is dangerous. There is a shop 3 hotels down. Spa is beautiful but very expensive. There is nothing to do in the evening, the entertainment is non existent and is not very good. There is a very good singer called Mark Harris and he was great but unfortunately wasn't there long. Alcohol is horrible, beer is ok Don't book excursions from the easy jet rep absolutely not worth the money they want. If you want to book excursions book from a man who walks around the pool call alibarbrb he's lovely. The pool is lovely but very deep and it's not clearly label saying the depth. Beach is lovely apart from beach bar close at 6 and the flooring needs to be replaced as very old and is uneven and there is no access to beach bar if you are in wheelchair. There are toilets ones by pool and ones in lobby but they are not always clean. If you want to go to any shops for souvenirs you have to travel to sousse which is around 30 mins in taxi and it's lovely but you have to be aware they will want you to come to there shops and will hassel you just be firm and say no thank you.

My first experience at this hotel was very disappointing. I stayed here with my father on the night of June 15. We were sitting by the swimming pool when it started to rain, so we moved to the reception bar. There, a staff member named Saver, who has a beard and always wears black, charged us 140 TND for four Piña Coladas. Later, he charged us another 140 TND for four more cocktails, making a total of 280 TND for eight cocktails. On both occasions, we asked for a receipt, but he refused to provide one. Later, when my girlfriend and her mother arrived, the same staff member told them that he was the owner's son and charged them 180 TND for a bottle of champagne, even though the champagne was supposed to be complimentary. Throughout our stay, we felt that we were treated unfairly and unprofessionally. Based on our experience, I do not believe this hotel deserves its five-star rating. I sincerely hope the management takes this complaint seriously, investigates this incident thoroughly, and takes the necessary action to ensure that all guests are treated fairly, honestly, and professionally.

Last night here with my son. It has been a fantastic experience, we don't want to leave. The hotel staff are so accomodating. I was concerned about food variety before coming as my 14 year old can be very fussy but there was always a wide variety of foods to choose from, he loved it. The Ali carte restaurant mona was fantastic you can book in once in your stay if over 6 days included in all inclusive packages. Also can book into the beach bar la violle once over your stay. Book in early for this though, we left it till the last 2 days and was very lucky the staff were able to accommodate us on such short notice. The animation team were hilarious, snoopy and momo were funny and keep the place alive. Met a lovely server in the buffet restaurant called Nader, he took the time to chat and was such a lovely man. Tip your bar staff on first couple of days for the best service. Only downside was the lack of air conditioning, however we took our own plug in fan after reading previous reviews and was absolutely fine throughout our stay. We paid extra £130 per person to do the Sahara 2 day visit, stopping at the Roman amphitheater, stopping at the Berber caves, camel ride and quad bike ride in the desert. Stayed the Sahara sous over night, woke early to watch the sunrise. 4x4 ride over the dunes in the desert to the remainder of the star wars set and stopped at a market on the way back to our hotel. Fab holiday, would definitely come back.

Beautiful hotel an pool , very clean an private beach . Bed's very comfy, cleaner in daily. Air conditioning was great in our room !! All staff worked hard an so helpful an friendly . Met owner while he on hol , great man spoke good English. Food was nice , some days/ nights better then others but always something to eat .( always same where ever u go all inclusive) Just wish we knew to take English money to change at hotel , as they dont take cards. Not hotels fault !! Great place rep helped us sort out camel ride an quad biking , taxi picked us up an back to hotel after . Would definitely return an recommend too
