Here at the moment and enjoying the hotel, check in was easy and pain free apart from our rooms weren’t ready due to an early arrival, no issues , went for lunch then we were shown to our bungalow 701 a ground floor garden view room. A huge room with 2 terraces. The room is looking rather tiered but all was good.with everything you need, Food in the main restaurant has a good choice, hot and tasty. For all 3 meals. They have 3 al a cartes , Tunisian, Italian and fish. It’s a totally different way of booking via the main restaurant having to tell them your food choice there and then. Sami,the restaurant manager is definitely a hands on guy with any issues or questions you have he will, and does sort them out there and then. We had a few teething issues with the room but it was rectified straight away. All members of staff are a credit to themselves and the hotel, nothing is too much trouble. The beach /pool areas are very clean with plenty of sunbeds available anytime of the day Would I come back again, well my wife is with her friend at the end of August, so that’s a yes

Details - Attending - Couple Dates - 02/06/2026 - 12/06/2026 (10 nights) Accommodation - Bungalow Room Board - All Inclusive Positives - Clean room everyday by (Imam) Extremely friendly waitering staff (Specifically Isaam) Some energetic entertainment staff (Yash & Fabio) Food hygiene - Good Beach - Lovely Negatives - No 'welcome pack' upon arrival Food options repetitive with only chef special at dinner changing Lack of sun loungers / seating near pool areas Staff across hotel push for reviews constantly All-inclusive does not include large selection of drinks 2 x excursion sales people pestering across hotel daily Sales people walking up and down beachfront Evening entertainment is only 45 minutes with only 30 mins of music afterwards Improvement Suggestions - Provide guests with welcome pack / map / dining times and activities list Setup excursion station near bottom of hotel for sales reps to remain so people can approach if they are interested rather than being pestered 3/4 times a day by the same rep. Include more cocktails and drink selections to the 'all-inclusive'. Provide soft drinks machines at bars side to allow drinks to be obtained without waiting in queues for a drink. Personal Experiences - During a evening entertainment show I had a member of the entertainment team who sat next to me and requested a 'favour' to provide a review on this site as they hadn't hit their '3 reviews threshold' and they wouldn't leave my side until I had done the review and the experience was rather uncomfortable. During the archery activities the entertainer was not paying attention, sat on their phone and smoked and seemed annoyed to be there making the experience less enjoyable. Overall Views - I think based on the experiences I encountered above I would suggest to anybody reading this review to take caution when booking this hotel. If you can get past the fact that the food options do not change, entertainment team pushing for reviews and for the purchase of a bingo ticket (20TD Each ticket - if you win it's a massage worth 80TD), the constant harassment of non-hotel staff pushing for excursions. Alongside not all drinks being included in the all-inclusive and finally a lack of seating/loungers near the pool then this hotel is decent for the amount paid for a hotel in Tunisia. I will say that the food service was always excellent and staff are extremely friendly in the bar and waiter side of things and the beach was lovely with plenty of shade and sun loungers provided. Be wary of individuals walking on the beach with camels/donkeys and horses as you can get 'tricked' into a ride and then forced to pay them. Overall I would say that this hotel resort has a lot of positive points and is well maintained, but I do personally feel that there is some major improvement points to be reviewed to up this hotel to become even better.

We are awaiting our transfere to the airport for our flight home after a lovely relaxing week. The Steingenber Marhaba Thalasso is an impressive complex that is vast and consists of a hotel, suites and bungalows. We stayed in C204 , it was spacious, light and airy. Beds where extremely comfortable, shower was powerful. It was also spotlessly clean with special thanks to our Housekeeper Samiha who looked after us daily this last week. Our room has been cleaned daily, beds changed and clean towels. We have come in every day to fresh flowers, and towel arrangements which has made it very special. Samiha is a lovely lady with the biggest smile that greets you every morning. She is polite, professional and extremely hard working and an absolute gem. The food has been varied and plentiful and chefs and restaurant staff work exceedingly hard. Special thanks to Wajdi who has taken care of us this week. He has made sure we have had a table as soon as we have entered the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He was friendly and polite and again greeted us with a huge smile,nothing was too much trouble Hotel bar staff Ahmed and Muhammed have been attentive and always made sure our glasses were full. Pool bar waiters have waited on us. The Stigenberger is in need of some tlc in places and could do with an update. Entertainment was poor archery and bingo where on offer during the day, there was a soloist that played 2 evenings before 7pm then left. There was a live band on Saturday 13th June which where good and varied. SUNBEDS AND PARASOLS please be aware you will struggle to get a sunbed past 9.00am YOU MUST SET YOUR ALARM EARLY ( anytime after 5am) and take your towels down to get the beds you want. Sami is the most helpful young man and will always try and sort you a bed/mattress and parasol. Overall we have had a lovely relaxing week with with wall to wall sunshine and high temperatures and met some lovely people and exceptional staff.

I’ll start with the good points: Staff are really friendly and helpful. Our housekeeper Samiha was great - always cheerful Food is lovely - can’t fault it. However not really much selection for children if travelling with family. Overall nice clean hotel. We stayed in a bungalow which was huge and bed was quite comfy. The two onsite restaurants were nice too. On to the not-so-good bits (not bad..just not so good): Drink selection is incredibly poor for a 5* - they have the basics like gin/whiskey/vodka etc and soft drinks. Very few cocktails which are just pre-made juices really. Wine is ok but again..just basic cheap stuff. Entertainment is minimal and repetitive - animation team are lovely but not that much going on through the day. Not even that much music around the pool. Onsite shop is dire - it’s tiny and doesn’t really have much in. (For example..I forgot to bring hairspray and spare hair ties - they didn’t even have hairspray) Flies - oh good god..the bloody flies. Absolutely can’t be helped but jeeezus..they could get excessive. Overall it is a nice hotel - but certainly not 5*. Personally I’d say 3.5-4* at very most. For me - what makes a 5* is the added extras that make it worth being rated as 5*. The onsite amenities, wider drinks range with staff that know how to make a decent/proper cocktail with quality spirits. Even the ‘games room’ only has air hockey and a pool table - both of which have to be paid for. I hope you like the song Bad Boys too - because it is played on repeat through the lobby. All day. Everyday. 🤣 Overall..we enjoyed our stay but would just say it was average. Didn’t love it or hate it but wouldn’t return. Outside the hotel: Old medina..we left after 20 minutes. Every single shop we walked past - they don’t leave you alone AT ALL. We couldn’t even look inside a shop because we felt we’d never get out! We went to New Medina which wasn’t as bad. You could at least be left alone to wander. Lovely walk along to the marina in Yasmine
