TUI MAGIC LIFE Africana

Arrived pm on 19th July. Staff from Hotel met us and immediately sorted luggage to one side while wrist bands were put on then led the way to an evening meal followed by check in. All very well run. The room initially was not quite what we expected and was on the small side especially the wardrobe which was not really adequate for 3. TV wiring was not coupled and a bedside light inop. One or 2 other minor issues. Nevertheless less we reported this and the following morning was allocated another room without fuss. I must also point out that maintenance staff were immediately dispatched to sort things so cannot fault that service. Throughout the holiday of 2 weeks we found the activities included were fantastic and our grandson age 14 had a great time with the Teen club led by the excellent Fraya whose energy and commitment was fantastic, so much so we forgot he was with us as he spent so much time bonding with other teens of differing nationalities. The ladies from Customer Services, Doua, Mariam and Ayet always had a very happy smiling welcome and communicated excellently with everyone and was always very approachable and offered assistance if any was ever needed. A very happy trio indeed and should be very proud of themselves for their professionalism throughout. Of course their supervisor too as he assisted in our room change. On the Waiter side, all very good and unlike some other countries we had been to these never appeared to be ‘tip led’ and showed professionalism even when under pressure. A special mention to Wajdi, a waiter who went above and beyond and always met us. Thank You. The bar staff were brilliant and how on earth they remembered what you drink and having it ready even when walking down to the bar. We need staff like this in England 😂. Cleaners were brilliant of course the lady who did ours room 815. Overall, a fantastic experience, a real good holiday despite the heatwave and now the hard bit begins……..Unpacking, Washing and ironing. 😭😂😂

This is our second visit to this hotel. As soon as we arrived staff remembered us from the year before, from restaurant waiters to chefs, to bar staff and the entertainers. We felt so at home once again. We had a lovely clean room, which was cleaned daily . The restaurant we have only stuck to the buffet as there’s not enough on the menu to suit everyone in our party in the à la cartes but not to worry we always enjoyed our meals. The staff in the restaurant all work so hard, we were kept a table each day, we tipped which they really appreciate and we didn’t see enough of it from other guests. Our waiter remembered us and our drinks order from last year! The chefs cooking were so lovely including the top chef and they like it if you engage with them. I found some guests rather rude, what’s to stop you saying how are you or even a thank you. The staff in the snack bar and the wee toastie man at the beach bar are really friendly and hardworking. The staff in Wunderbar are nice but you get different service depending on who it is, one day got a chocolate milkshake for my son, next day told they don’t do that?! The pools are great something suitable for every need. Have to say a special mention to the lifeguards, always vigilant, I heard a young girl coughing I turned (as a mums intuition makes me)to look and the lifeguard was past me over and at her within seconds making sure she was ok and not choking on water which she was and no family supervision. The kids club was great for my 9yr old they were a lovely bunch and very conscientious about the kids safety when doing watersports. Lovely friendly group making you feel better about your kid being there. The watersports included are great and easy to use, we used them daily. Hubby enjoyed the archery as did my kids. Freyah, the teen rep, was lovely, friendly and fun, she put my son at ease who is on the spectrum, nothing forced just totally chilled but encouraging too. She’s a real good new asset to the team. The entertainment team were fabulous! Swazi, tazz, Jasmine, Damian, Lorenzo, WASHINGTON AND LIVIA!! You guys put on great shows, hard work in that heat, high energy! long hours, many dress changes creating a fun environment and making our family feel special every night. The daytime team too we loved dancing in the pool each day with activities. There was definitely Magic in the air! Loved the foam party was really fun. Sorry we missed the night version. I also have to point out our night time waiter at Captains bar - bald waiter (I’m so sorry) whose name I never got 2yrs in a row! He looked after us every night we barely got up for a drink and our last night he kept a table for us with table cloth and flowers and our drinks ready he really touched our heart. We have already booked for next yr and can’t wait! Only improvements and I’m being real picky here. A bar up at the amphitheater open where the entertainment is, even if it was the bar in the nightclub just whilst the entertainment is on up there. I think they could do karaoke a couple times EVERY WEEK, sorry LIVIA lol xxx I felt after the show even for 45 mins because just the music after is a bit repetitive. A lot of sunloungers are broken (were still useable but aesthetically need replacing). Overall had an amazing time

We just came back from this hotel with a family of 7. 4 adults and 3 children. We arrived around 10pm and did not have the most friendly welcome. They placed us in 2 rooms at complete opposite sides of the resort! We asked why they would split up a family as was told that was all they had and that they were fully booked. However they did rectify this the next day and moved us somewhat closer. There was hardly anything to eat apart from the scraps left over from dinner, so had to make do with that. The buffet food is very bland, very much of the same and to be honest the A La Carte restaurants were very much the same as what you would find at the buffet. Drinks/cocktails were ok, nothing to write home about. The pools were very dirty! You could see cloudy slime, especially in the slides/children’s pools. It didn’t look like there were any type of filtration systems apart from someone throwing in cups of chlorine most mornings. Never saw them cleaned at all! The rooms were kept very clean and we had a wonderful lady that cleaned our room each day. AC in the rooms was fabulous however the rest of the hotel was a sweat parlour! No AC or even fans in the general areas so made it really hard to enjoy being anywhere apart from our room! Most of the waiters were very friendly ( a few not so much) but on the whole they were great. Good holiday but would definitely not come back. There’s definitely better out there for the price we paid!

We have thoroughly enjoyed a ten-day trip to the TUI MAGIC LIFE Africana, where we have been met with professionalism, friendliness, quality, and hospitality. There is a wide selection of rooms for families and couples available, but as a family of three, we stayed in a standard room with a sofa bed. It has been a spacious and comfortable room, a clean bathroom stocked with towels, a rainfall shower, and a shower head which has a gorgeous mist setting, multiple storage spaces like drawers and wardrobes, coffee/tea, and a stocked minibar with 1-litre bottles of Fanta, Coca-Cola, and mineral water. Functional and cool air conditioning and a hot shower were brilliant as well. The Magico buffet has been continually excellent, with astounding and delicious food where we were never disappointed for choice, especially with the fresh grilled foods made in front of you, fresh tasty salad, and a wide range of beautiful pastries made in-house. They occasionally do theme nights, especially the Tunisian night on a Tuesday, where you are served beautiful local food, which is a must-try. A-la-carte options were available with three specialty restaurants, but we were more than happy with the wide selection of food in the buffet. Wunderbar, the main bar, has been a wonderful (no pun intended) place to hang out and relax and enjoy drinks, where we have been especially taken care of by our barman, Saber, who has served us professionally and been wonderfully friendly. Every evening there is a delightful serenade from the resident piano player who takes his time to play every single day, and it has been truly beautiful and set the tone for our evening. All of the staff have been hardworking, incredibly friendly, and helpful, stopping to say ‘Good morning’ to you and ensuring you have a wonderful stay. We would love to give a special thank you to the guest service team with Hedi, Ayet, and Mariam, who have been continually enthusiastic and friendly every day during our stay. There is always an activity happening by the hour where you can do sports, games, and exercise; and you can enjoy a wide range of paid and free water sports on the hotel’s beach - which has been clean and gorgeous to go in the evening. Be aware of jellyfish being in the swimming area of the beach and being washed up, but obviously this is a natural phenomenon and is out of the hotel’s control. There is a selection of nice and cool pools which are lovely in the summer months. The activity pool is the main hub which has a cooling waterfall; the pool itself is 2m deep which is good for swimming. It can be cloudy from a high amount of chlorine as multiple people do use this pool however. Hence why we stayed in the serene 16+ relax pool which has been quiet and shady with its olive trees and featuring a wonderful whirlpool bath. Entertainment in the evening has been enjoyable and enthusiastic, with hard-working dancers and entertainers; especially the engaging, talented, and wonderful special act singer Swazi who has been truly fantastic. We would definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for an escape to a gorgeous hotel with hardworking staff and to the beautiful country of Tunisia itself and we have really enjoyed our trip.
