Crystal Family Resort & Spa

Stayed at Crystal Family Resort for 7 nights and overall I would describe it as a very mixed experience. There are definitely positives, but unfortunately the negatives stopped this feeling anywhere near a true 5* hotel. The positives first — the food was always hot, fresh and plentiful with a really good variety every day. The afternoon snack bar was exceptional, with freshly made food to order. The waffles and gözleme were a highlight and definitely worth trying. The pool areas and hotel grounds were spotless at all times and we never struggled to find sunbeds, which was a big plus. That said, this is very much a family-focused resort and the number of children was overwhelming at times, particularly around the kids’ pool areas which were constantly extremely busy and noisy. We expected children when booking a family resort, but the lack of supervision from some parents made parts of the holiday quite stressful. The hotel itself is also in desperate need of refurbishment. The décor feels very dated and the room doors are incredibly noisy — they slam shut automatically, which woke us up several times during the night. The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. As a same-sex couple, we have travelled to Turkey multiple times and have always found people welcoming, respectful and made to feel safe. Sadly, that was not our experience here. Upon check-in, a receptionist became visibly annoyed that we had been allocated a double room (which is exactly what we had booked), swore about it and threw the key card onto the floor, telling us to come back the next day for twin beds. We obviously didn’t. Nothing about the hotel or facilities was explained to us either, which is not what you expect from a supposed 5* resort. The bar staff were often rude and seemed to prioritise large groups and guests tipping heavily. We were also constantly approached by spa staff trying to sell treatments, both around the pool and whenever we exchanged towels, which became frustrating very quickly. Late checkout was another issue. We asked twice and received conflicting information and completely different prices each time. We were quoted €20 per hour, meaning 6 extra hours would have cost €120, which felt excessive compared to other 5* Turkish resorts we’ve stayed at. Thankfully there are shower/changing facilities in the spa and luggage storage at reception. To make matters worse, on our return transfer we confirmed with reception that we were boarding the correct coach, only to overhear a homophobic comment as we got on. Completely unacceptable and not something we have ever experienced elsewhere in Turkey. Overall, while there are some genuinely good aspects to this hotel, particularly the food and cleanliness, the service and overall atmosphere fell far below what we would expect from a 5* resort. I very happy with this hotel so far all staff are very friendly specialy Dilek and all a la carte waitresses. Rooms are cleaned every day and nice

Stayed here for 7 days, situated in Belik and hour commute outside Antalya. The resort and accomodation was clean, well maintained and all the staff were super friendly. Buffet was really good, always something we were happy to eat so didn’t feel the need to go to any à la cart or Sushi bar. We did love the coffee shop for cakes and ice cream. Freshly prepared pizza available by poolside and bar didn’t disappoint with branded spirits. I appreciate it was May and the resort was not full but there was lots of sunbeds available on the beach or around the pool. The pool was really cold but there was a heated indoor pool available accessible by poolside which we used for a quick dip throughout the day. This was a great resort highly recommended and will defiantly return when in Belik.
