Read this review before booking this hotel! First and foremost, this hotel is definitely not a 5-star property. Having stayed in luxury hotels around the world, I struggle to understand how this property is marketed or reviewed as a genuine 5-star resort. In my opinion, it offers a standard much closer to a 3-star hotel. The Hotel & Facilities The hotel’s facilities, décor and overall design are extremely outdated. Many of the fixtures and fittings are chipped, broken, poorly repainted, damaged or simply worn out. The entire property feels neglected and in desperate need of refurbishment. As someone who enjoys taking photos while travelling, we genuinely struggled to find a single area that was aesthetically pleasing. The only attractive spot was a small sandy seating area by the beach, but even that was spoiled by stacks of sunbeds, outdated buildings and cafés surrounding it. Even the seafront views are interrupted by numerous piers. It honestly feels as though no thought has been given to creating attractive spaces for guests to enjoy or photograph. Everywhere you look there are piles of equipment, sunbeds or maintenance items cluttering the background. Customer Service This was by far the biggest disappointment. Before arriving, we emailed the hotel explaining that we were travelling to celebrate our 4-year-old daughter’s birthday. We even offered to pay extra for a special room surprise, something we’ve arranged at hotels around the world without any issues. The hotel replied confirming everything had been arranged. When we arrived, there was absolutely nothing prepared. The staff apologised and said they would arrange something the following day, but that completely ruined the surprise and the magic of her actual birthday. The following day, their “birthday surprise” consisted of a box of macarons and a bottle of champagne, despite us making it very clear that this was for a four-year-old child. It showed a complete lack of attention and care. We even suggested something simple such as balloons, candles or a birthday cake, especially considering the buffet already serves desserts, but were bluntly told, “That’s our birthday setup.” It was honestly one of the poorest birthday experiences we’ve ever had at any hotel. Unfortunately, this careless attitude continued throughout our stay. Staff members were frequently arguing amongst themselves, often in front of guests. Customer service should be at the heart of any hotel, especially one claiming to be five-star, but that was completely missing here. À La Carte Restaurants The à la carte restaurants were another major disappointment. The Greek restaurant didn’t even serve grilled fish, and one of the main courses was chocolate orange chicken, which felt completely out of place on a Greek menu. The menus were uninspired and, in our opinion, significantly worse than the buffet, despite à la carte restaurants normally being a step above the main dining options. The décor was equally uninspiring, the views were poor, and the layout of the hotel feels cramped and poorly designed. It genuinely seems as though very little thought was given to the architecture or guest experience when planning the different spaces throughout the resort. Food Quality Having visited Turkey several times over the years, we felt the overall food quality wasn’t as good as we remembered, and unfortunately this hotel was no exception. Although many of the dishes looked appealing, the quality of the ingredients, particularly the meat and produce, felt below the standard we would expect from a genuine 5-star resort. Presentation often took priority over flavour. While there was plenty of variety, much of the food lacked quality and taste, which was disappointing considering the price we paid and the hotel’s advertised five-star status. The Positives To be fair, not everything was negative. The water park is excellent and better than average. There are plenty of swimming pools, making it a great choice for families with young children. The Kids Club was fantastic, and our daughter absolutely loved it. A special thank you to Melisa, who was caring, attentive and wonderful with our daughter. The gentleman at the shisha area was also friendly and welcoming. Management Unfortunately, our experience with management only added to our frustration. We had booked and paid for a sea view room, yet much of our view was obstructed by construction work. When we raised our concerns, we were told this room was actually a “complimentary upgrade” and were offered what was effectively a downgrade as compensation. Rather than listening and trying to resolve our concerns, the front office managers, including Mehmet, seemed more interested in arguing than finding solutions. Overall This hotel falls well short of the standards expected of a genuine 5-star resort. Between the outdated facilities, poor customer service, disappointing food, uninspiring restaurants and lack of attention to detail, we left feeling that this holiday was poor value for money. If you’re simply looking for a hotel with a good water park, plenty of pools and an excellent Kids Club, you may enjoy your stay. However, if you value luxury, exceptional customer service, quality food, beautiful surroundings and attention to detail, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
We had an overall pleasant stay at Delphin Imperial. The hotel is beautiful, the facilities are excellent, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our vacation. For an ultra all-inclusive resort, the price-quality ratio is fair. There is always something to eat or drink, and you never have to walk far to find a restaurant, snack bar, café, or bar. The resort is, however, very large and busy. If you are looking for a quieter, more exclusive or boutique-style luxury experience, this may not be the best choice. We felt that for a little extra money, there are probably more refined all-inclusive resorts available. Unfortunately, the à la carte restaurants were a huge disappointment and did not live up to the standards you would expect from a five-star hotel. We tried several of them, including the Italian, Spanish, and Japanese restaurants. While the atmosphere and music reflected the theme of each restaurant, the food certainly did not. None of the menus tasted authentic to the cuisine they were supposed to represent. The Italian restaurant was by far the biggest letdown. We didn’t even eat a single slice of the pizza. It was completely covered in cheese, the dough was undercooked, and the crust was nearly five centimeters thick. It simply wasn’t enjoyable. We also noticed that several other guests left most of their meals untouched that evening. In the end, we decided to leave and have dinner at the main buffet instead. That was especially disappointing because the main buffet actually offered better food than the specialty restaurants. We expected the à la carte restaurants to be one of the highlights of our stay, but they turned out to be the weakest part of the entire resort. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday thanks to the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the convenience of the all-inclusive concept. However, the à la carte restaurants seriously need improvement. For a five-star hotel, they are well below the standard we expected and, in our opinion, are the biggest weakness of an otherwise enjoyable resort.
