Hotel Ramada Resort Lara

Stayed at this hotel for a cheap week, rooms were good. Food was good. Alcohol was ok, lager was poor. 10 managers for every staff member, more cleaners than servers ( jlhwnce very clean ). My biggest annoyance was, my wife left her purse in room when we flew home. Her driving licence, cards and less than €25 in cash. Hotel never contacted us, we had to contact them. I requested them send it to us, I would pay upfront !! The hotel did everything possible to not get my wife’s purse back to her. Kept saying next time your here, collect it of get a friend to collect. Or there’s cards and money inside, can’t send. So sent labels and asked them to wrap ready for courier I arranged, they did not wrap it, and told the courier money / cards inside so they would not take ( €40 wasted. Couldn’t have done any less to help us, absolute idiots. Happy to take my tips, all over me for that, for this reason would not stay again. ( I asked for managers contact details / they said manager was fully aware ). Customer lost.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Ramada Lara Beach. We travelled as 2 families of 4 (2x 6 year olds, 1x 3 and 1 x 2) When we initially arrived, quite late at night, we were shown to our room which had 1x double, 1x single and a cot for our 3, nearly 4 year old (even though we had not requested a cot). We had booked a ‘superior room’ but it was quite small for a family of 4. We went to guest services, who said they could exchange the cot for a bed but we were concerned on the limited space. They made the exchange and it was cramped but we managed. Our friends who we travelled with had upgraded prior to travelling to a family room. This was much more spacious and 100% recommend for a family of 4. The superior rooms are not adequate enough for 2 x adults 2 x children in beds. This was our only complaint. The hotel was incredibly clean. There was always cleaning staff around the eating areas, pools & the beach! Food was beautiful! We only ate in the al a carte restaurant (purely for ease with the children) but there was always plenty of choice & the food was cooked beautifully! There is a children’s buffet which is only open for the first hour of service (lunch 12-1pm and dinner 6-7pm) which I found strange but there was always the standard stuff on the main buffet for the kids too. Pasta dishes, nuggets, chips, mash, veg etc. From a party of 8 none of us struggled to find something we liked every meal time! In the main hotel there is a small splash pool with smaller slides for the younger children & 4 big slides which were great fun. Our younger children could go on 2 of the slides if sliding with an adult which was fab! The main slides are open 10am-12pm and 2-4pm daily. Down at the beach area (which is about a 10 minute walk) there is another children’s slide/splash pool - great for young children up to about the age of 8/9 I’d say. And a deep swimming pool too. There is another Al a carte style snack/ lunch area & Pizza Hut down at the beach open 11-5pm. A bar by the pool. The beach is quite rough sand but plenty of sun loungers under cover and the bar on the jetty. At the beach complex is where most of the evening entertainment was held - kids mini disco, shows etc. We were disappointed with a couple of the shows and skipped some that we weren’t too bothered about (kids talent show 🙄 unless your child is in it!) We stayed up at the hotel bar a few nights which also had evening entertainment like quizzes, singers, bingo etc. more of a relaxed area. Overall it was a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend to families - but book the larger room!!

We had a great family stay here for 10 days. Our room was a fantastic size. It was spotless and we loved that the free mini bar was topped up every day. I enjoyed that the rooms had ironing facilties because in previous holidays we have been charged extra for our clothes to be ironed. The leisure facilities were top notch. The pools were all great and the indoor pool was ideal for families who wanted a break from the sun. Also, the slides were very good for kids of all ages. The beach was a very short walk from the hotel (there is a shuttle bus too) and it was good to have the option of spending days by the beach. The staff were all amazing. We travelled with our 1 year old baby and the staff made us feel so welcome. The cleaners were always very happy even when cleaning the mess our daughter made at the restaurant! There's only a few of very small things I think the hotel could do better. - Being able to cast or have youtube on the TV in the room for very young kids - Having baby changing facilities that men can use. There was no baby changing facilities in the disabled or mens toilets. - The shop within the hotel is well stocked but very expensive Overall, we had a marvellous family holiday and we would stay here again.

2 nd year staying at the hotel and it’s been lovely again. Food great Staff absolutely unbelievable. Unfortunately last year was better than this year . We came back because kids loved it. Water slides etc however this year My 6 year old boy is only allowed on two slides out of the four unless accompanied by an adult . Slides only open 4 hours of the day 10-12 2-4 Pool closes at 6 pm it’s ridiculous. Life guards ruining the run in the pool non stop blowing whistles . The entertainment team last year was better Bars closing down at beach at 11:30 is also poor. Entertainment all round needs working on .

Another great holiday to the Ramada. 7th time and still counting. Will be back next may. So glad to see the familiar faces of the animation team, which we have come to call our friends. The welcome we get when they see us is unbelievable. Absolutely love these people. Tolga,who is my absolute favourite. Mary,who is my wife's favourite. Zarina and Roniah are also absolutely brilliant. Yuzin (not sure about spelling) also great. Came out in may and met some great people. Returned in July for our honeymoon. Will be returning next may to meet people we met last may. We keep returning to this hotel because of the great bond that we feel with the animation team. They are a total credit to the hotel.
