Hotel Side Star Resort

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and one of the highlights was the exceptional cleanliness of our room. Everything was spotless every single day, which made our stay so much more comfortable and relaxing. A very special thank you to Saliha Vural, who took such great care of our room. Her attention to detail was outstanding, but what truly made a difference was her kindness and thoughtfulness. She went above and beyond her duties, always greeting us with a warm smile and making sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to come across someone who puts so much heart into their work, and we are truly grateful. She is a real asset to the hotel, and we hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Thank you again for a lovely stay—we would definitely come back!

Clean hotel, great food selection, and an excellent animation team who really made an effort with the kids. Those are the positives. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the service and overall atmosphere. On our first evening, just an hour after arriving, a waiter repeatedly interrupted me mid-meal asking if I “needed change.” As first-time visitors to Turkey, we didn’t understand at the time, but quickly realised this was a direct attempt to push for a tip. The same waiter then continued to approach us on subsequent nights, even seeking us out across the restaurant. This wasn’t a one-off. The tipping culture here is relentless. You are made to feel like you need to tip before receiving any service, despite already paying for all-inclusive. Service often depended on whether you tipped or not. It went beyond the restaurant too – cleaners would wait in stairwells asking for tips, which felt uncomfortable and inappropriate. The worst moment came at the bar, where using Google Translate we understood senior bar staff openly commenting in German to German guests that “the English don’t tip,” clearly directed at us before we had even been served. This set the tone – an unwelcoming environment where some staff (and guests) assume you won’t understand and speak about you accordingly. The hotel is also heavily geared towards older German guests. While not everyone, the overall atmosphere felt more like a retirement setting than a family-friendly resort. In summary: a clean hotel with good food and great entertainment, but let down badly by rude service, constant pressure for tips, and an uncomfortable atmosphere. We wouldn’t return.

Great service, good drinks you have everything you want.

We had a fantastic holiday here with friends and our teenage boys. We’ve visited many Turkey hotels on Side and Belek and this definitely was up there with the others! The entertainment staff were absolutely brilliant and included our boys in all activities. The walk to the beach and beach bar was something we all looked forward to mid afternoon for some sundowners. The food at the pool bar is exceptional and the best selection we’ve had staying in a Turkish resort. Can’t fault it. Also, the themed restaurants were amazing, we’ve visited everyone during our stay. Our family rooms had sufficient storage, was clean and a great size. This hotel was cheaper than others we’ve stayed in but it didn’t compromise on the quality we’ve been used to. Overall we can’t fault this hotel it was superb value for money. Highly recommend

We were delighted with this hotel back in September, which is why we returned for 10 days this April. Unfortunately, it was a massive mistake. The beach was supposed to be sandy and beautiful, but in reality, it was covered in stones. My husband cut his foot because we weren't prepared for such conditions. This is a clear sign of management's negligence, as the neighboring hotel managed to clear their beach in a single day. The food was another major letdown. Despite the "All Inclusive Plus" 24h promise, the Night Bistro was a joke—no meat, no fries, just cold leftovers. For a 5-star hotel, this is shameful. The main restaurant was monotonous, and the lack of fresh fruit (during peak season!) was a scandal. For 10 days, we were stuck with just oranges, apples, and pears. Positives and Detailed Observations: Staff: The waitstaff in the main restaurant were very friendly and welcoming. À la carte restaurants: The service here was outstanding—my family and I felt truly taken care of. While the food is good, it’s a pity the menu hasn’t changed in 6 months, and they swapped sake for rakija to cut costs. Cleanliness: For 6 days a week, an older lady cleaned our room very thoroughly, and we are grateful for her work. However, on Sundays, the room is cleaned by different staff, and the decline in quality is shocking. The room remained dirty (toilets, mirrors, floors); it was clear they were rushing and didn't care about their work. Desserts: Although the variety was limited, the cheesecakes were delicious. Unfortunately, Guest Relations ignored our request to replace a leaking kettle for our entire stay. We felt disappointed and cheated. We will not be returning to Side Star Resort and cannot recommend it. Our first task upon returning to England was going to the supermarket to buy the fresh fruit we missed so much.
