Fantastic week at the Side Star Elegance. Staff very friendly go above and beyond . Food very good and varied. Excellent Turkish and Italian A LA carte. Entertainment good. Spotless hotel, staff constantly cleaning. Room with pool view excellent. Lovely beachfront promenade position. Would definitely recommend.

Great family holiday. Hotel spotless, food great, drinks great, staff from cleaners to bar staff friendly and cheerful. Lovely pool area, plenty of sun loungers, pool a wee bit on the cold side but OK when you survive the initial brrrrrr. Special praise to the pool snack bar excellent choice and quality. Couldn't fault the hotel one bit. If you've booked to come to this hotel, you won't be disappointed. ENJOY.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and one of the highlights was the exceptional cleanliness of our room. Everything was spotless every single day, which made our stay so much more comfortable and relaxing. A very special thank you to Saliha Vural, who took such great care of our room. Her attention to detail was outstanding, but what truly made a difference was her kindness and thoughtfulness. She went above and beyond her duties, always greeting us with a warm smile and making sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to come across someone who puts so much heart into their work, and we are truly grateful. She is a real asset to the hotel, and we hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Thank you again for a lovely stay—we would definitely come back!

Clean hotel, great food selection, and an excellent animation team who really made an effort with the kids. Those are the positives. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the service and overall atmosphere. On our first evening, just an hour after arriving, a waiter repeatedly interrupted me mid-meal asking if I “needed change.” As first-time visitors to Turkey, we didn’t understand at the time, but quickly realised this was a direct attempt to push for a tip. The same waiter then continued to approach us on subsequent nights, even seeking us out across the restaurant. This wasn’t a one-off. The tipping culture here is relentless. You are made to feel like you need to tip before receiving any service, despite already paying for all-inclusive. Service often depended on whether you tipped or not. It went beyond the restaurant too – cleaners would wait in stairwells asking for tips, which felt uncomfortable and inappropriate. The worst moment came at the bar, where using Google Translate we understood senior bar staff openly commenting in German to German guests that “the English don’t tip,” clearly directed at us before we had even been served. This set the tone – an unwelcoming environment where some staff (and guests) assume you won’t understand and speak about you accordingly. The hotel is also heavily geared towards older German guests. While not everyone, the overall atmosphere felt more like a retirement setting than a family-friendly resort. In summary: a clean hotel with good food and great entertainment, but let down badly by rude service, constant pressure for tips, and an uncomfortable atmosphere. We wouldn’t return.
