Lago Hotel

We were in Lago hotel in October/November '25. This was our second time in this hotel and we were once again very satisfied. Many thanks to Gülsah, who once again helped make our holiday enjoyable. If we compare the same hotel in 2023 and 2025, then perhaps the only thing that had gotten a little worse was the food selection. There were fewer delicacies, but the selection was still very large and to be honest, we didn't manage to try half of it even in two weeks, let alone be able to eat three+ times a day. Many thanks also to the girls at the coffee bar - your Turkish coffee was the star of our days. And thanks to the young men at the pool bar, some of whom could also make a real strawberry margarita! Many thanks also to the cleaning ladies who kept our room spotlessly clean. A pleasant surprise was the Maldivian pool, which this time was made an 18+ area. In summary - we will definitely come again. A couple from the two different Nordic countries

The housekeeping service was excellent. The lady who cleaned our room was very kind and always made sure everything was spotless. The room was kept perfectly clean throughout our stay — we really appreciated her hard work and friendly attitude.

We stayed as a family of 5 for 1 week at the Lago Hotel. Pros- - Water park is great for kids. Timings are limited to before lunch and then after lunch. Our 3 children had a great time. - Patisserie and coffee stands are great. Available until 11pm and serve a great selection including milkshakes for the kids. - Gym is well equipped and a good size. - The snack bar outside served great snacks food for lunchtime and it was replenished well. Also right next to the beach and children's play area. - The beach is nice. Good sun loungers and you can order drinks to your lounger. - The pool is great. One side is warmer than the other and we never had problems with getting sun loungers. - the onsite shops are great. We forgot some bits and you can just buy it there. Cons- - The food is not great. Or perhaps it's that it caters to the majority or guests tastes, which are Russian. We really didn't enjoy the food other than the snack bar outside. - the main restaurant in general is like a school canteen. We were never served drinks at dinner, unlike a majority of the other guests from other countries. I'm not saying there was favouritism but we certainly noticed that we didn't receive the same level of attention as other guests from elsewhere. We actually got to the point that we dreaded breakfast and dinner so avoided going. Really not the purpose of a holiday. - If you like white wine or rosé then find an alternative drink. They don't chill the wine, it's just warm and there is only 1 type which is very poor. - if you get a swim up room then it's absolutely freezing. We only used it once as it was so cold it was not pleasant. Don't waste your money as the main pool is better. - beds are quite uncomfortable and the bedding is limited. Just a small sheet and 1 pillow. Would we return again? Probably not. The bad out wayed the good. The place itself is lovely but the poor food really impacted our holiday. The hotel really can't control the other guests behaviour but we did find the culture of the other guests rude and unpleasant. Such a shame is we did hope for so much more from our holiday.

I had a wonderful stay at Lago Hotel! The staff were very helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed every meal. Everything about my stay was great — I really liked everything and would definitely come back again!

We recently spent seven nights at the Lego Hotel in Side as a family of four with two teenagers. While the location and outside grounds of the hotel were truly fantastic, unfortunately, the overall experience inside the hotel was disappointing and did not live up to its 5-star rating or the glowing reviews we had read beforehand. The positives first: the exterior of the hotel is very impressive, the grounds are well kept, and the location is excellent. The entertainment team also worked very hard, and a few acts stood out as enjoyable. However, the interior of the hotel and the atmosphere felt dated and did not match the quality promised by its branding. In the rooms, basic details were missing — for example, no duvet covers and no coffee machine, which I found surprising for a supposed five-star hotel. The biggest let-down was the food. Compared with other hotels we have stayed in, such as the Lara Collection (where the food was outstanding), the standard here was far below expectations. Dishes were often cold, variety was limited, and it was difficult to find something we genuinely enjoyed. The late-night bistro in particular felt more like a school canteen with very poor options. While the hotel seems to focus heavily on traditional Turkish food, the quality and lack of international alternatives was disappointing. Entertainment, although enthusiastic, was almost entirely in Turkish or Russian, making it difficult for English-speaking families to feel included. The same issue applied to the music around the pool — almost entirely foreign artists. After requesting, we did manage to hear a little English music, but this should be more naturally integrated for international guests. Finally, one thing that really impacted our stay was the overall atmosphere among the guests. The hotel attracts many visitors from Eastern Europe, and unfortunately, we found the general behaviour to be unfriendly. People often pushed past, ignored queues, and rarely smiled — and we heard the same complaints from other non-Eastern European families staying at the hotel. Overall, while the grounds and location are impressive, the inside experience, food quality, and lack of inclusivity make this hotel very hard to recommend for English-speaking families expecting an international standard. Sadly, we left feeling disappointed rather than refreshed.
