Lago Hotel

What an amazing hotel. Simply stunning... stunning location and stunning experiences that made our family holiday one to remember. The great things is despite so many people staying at the hotel, it never felt overcrowded and there was always somewhere to put your towels down, a table to eat at or a seat in a bar area to drink from. The pools were incredible and we choose the pool to the right of the main walkway. All the pools were warm mainly, but with 42 degrees heat, they were never going to stay cold. The waterslides were brilliant, and despite being nearly 50, I still dabbled in a few of them along with my 13 year old son! I wasn't quite brave enough for the cobra slide though! Check in was fast with no issues and despite our room not being available on arrival due to a faulty air con system, we was given an upgraded swim up room for one night until ours was fixed. We had a land facing duplex room on the 5th floor which was reasonably basic but had everything a family wanted and was cleaned every day by attentive maids. Fresh towels were always put out daily and the fridge restocked. Faultless from the staff. I have read some really strange comments about the food, and trust me, we have a daughter who is an incredibly fussy eater and if she can eat in the buffet restaurant, anyone can. We always found the food beautifully cooked with plenty of choice and flavour. If you get a chance to eat in the Turkish restaurant, I highly recommend it, the food was simply stunning. Entertainment was class! You can see that a lot of hard work goes into the production of these shows and they were always packed out. Shows normally started 930 pm and advice would be to get seated by 845 to have any chance of grabbing a table. Drinks.... These were hit and miss, always tasty but some of the casual staff sometimes didn't know what drinks were what especially how to make certain cocktails but that's not a negative it's simply that with the amount of staff needed to run the hotel, there will be times when they don't all know the 20 odd cocktails on the menu. If I had one criticism, it was the service from the pool where you could scan a QR code and have drinks delivered. We tried this 3 or 4 times and never got the drinks, which was strange as we'd often see the lads on the roller skates giving other people drinks at their loungers. The Beach was lovely and the pier was well maintained. The water is very very choppy though and I'd certainly recommend non-confident swimmers to avoid the water as it gets deep quickly and the current is extremely strong. Lastly, location. If your idea of a holiday is to unwind, relax and enjoy the plethora of amenities at the hotel then you can't go wrong, it will be one of the best hotels you'll ever stay in. If you want the hustle and bustle of a thriving town outside a hotel then forget the Lago as there's not many places to walk to. There is a strip of shops and a couple of restaurants if you walk along the river about a 10 minute walk away. We never usually go back to the same hotel but we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent instalations, very good food and deserts. The pool and slided are fantastic. The beach has many pebles and some rocks in the water, but the pier is great to make it comfortably to the sea.

Pros: * The hotel has a big and nice swimming pool. There are different areas, some quiet and some with music and activities. * There are 16+ areas near the pool and in the restaurant, which is good if you want to relax without children around. * The animation team is great, and there are many activities during the day. * The service is generally good. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Whenever we had a problem or needed something, they were ready to help and tried to find a solution. * The hotel has a nice and friendly atmosphere. You can see that the staff and management are trying to make guests feel comfortable. * There are enough places to relax around the hotel, so it doesn’t feel too crowded, especially because there are different areas for different types of guests. Cons: * The rooms are old and the renovation is not very good. The room is cleaned every day, but the cleaning is very basic. * When we arrived, the room was quite dirty from the previous guests. There was a lot of dirt that was not cleaned properly during our stay. * The rooms are not very well planned. The lighting is poor, and the bathroom is very small, especially because the room is for up to 4 people. * The food was also disappointing. There were not many tasty options, so we ended up eating almost the same food every day. Many dishes were not labeled, so sometimes it was difficult to understand what was in them. Overall: The hotel is not bad. You can see that the management is trying and that the staff really want to help guests. The service is one of the better parts of the hotel. However, the renovation seems to have been done too quickly, and some things already need to be repaired or replaced. The rooms especially need improvement. The hotel is mostly for families with children, so keep this in mind when choosing it.

This at first looks like a stunning hotel, and the location is great, but it is not 5-star. Some staff are great, but some are so rude. We found that if you speak English as your first language and not Russian, this was an issue. The main staff member I had an issue with was Mustafa, who sold the trips for the hotel. This was supplied when **arriving** at the hotel as part of the welcome pack. We asked for trips without boat rides as my wife has a fear of them, and he still sold me one, so he just lied. When I asked him for the money back, he stated he showed us the video of this, again a lie, and then said it was non-refundable. I was lucky that i could take the hit on this but some people may not be. We then realised that this was all rushed because the EasyJet rep was there, and he then rushed off. The EasyJet rep was very rude and asked why we booked with Mustafa. We said the hotel contacted us via the phone in the room, so we thought this was the way to book. He then shook his head and left. Utter joke. No help given, just stormed off because he didn't get a sale. As a family of three from Britain, we had high expectations as this was the first trip with my daughter. She had fun, but no other children spoke English, and she did not want to do any activities in the kids' club because of this. The room was nice, but there were some small issues. There was no soundproofing from the main hall, and the entertainment was so loud that on some nights it continued until 2 a.m.—just "bum, bum, bum." If you put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, the staff still entered the room, and when asked to leave, they were very forceful about cleaning it. The hotel toilets were very clean, and the food was good but a bit repetitive. No member of staff could make cocktails and had to Google them when asked, and my wife said even then they were all disgusting.
