Mukarnas Spa Resort

Just returned after a 10 night stay and have very mixed thoughts. I'll start with the positive, Food - breakfast , lunch and dinner amazing! Never got bored, so much variety, different themes every night. And our waiter at dinner was brilliant, could not be more helpful. Drinks - no complaints, 24 hour all inclusive pool bar which was impressive! Service - really good and the staff were very hard working and appreciated the occasional tip which was very much deserved! Entertainment and Animation Team - incredible!! By far the best part of our stay, they were our heroes for the stay with looking after and keeping our children safe and entertained and also us as parents entertained with activities from 10am through to 11.30pm and never looking anything other than happy to be there and be with us. Every day and evening there something was going on all day, and these guys are the absolute heart of this resort! Thank you!! Especially Umut who was my Sons best mate 😁 Bad points You know some places take you a day or two to settle in... This took me a full week to get used to it..... Other guests - rudeness and the amount of other guests. Too many things to list but kids were left to run riot, jumping over, in-between and a compete disregard of personal space was something that happened every day. Adults were rude, never said thanks, never smiled, hardly even acknowledged you was there and a complete disregard of others that inevitably meant the children were the same. At meal times, the amount of food some of these people pulled out of the buffet onto plates was incredible and inevitably wasted. They pushed into queues, walked at you when navigating and could barely even look at you... Greedy, rude, completely self absorbed people were everywhere which ruined the stay more than anything else. Main pool - not big enough for the amount of guests, I NEVER felt relaxed.. similar to above in terms of rudeness and lack of awareness of others around them with splashing, bombing sitting on your sunbeds etc (while you was on them!) but the main pool is just not well layed out for that many guests, which leads me onto the next point Sunbeds - we never had an issue getting one as you allowed to get to from 7am which is policed well.. however there is a huge issue with towels going down at 7 and then people not coming back to them until 10-11am...and there is far too many of them, jam packed around the pool, stacked 6 rows deep in some areas and hardly any room for access to the pool for guests meaning you have people pushing past you while you're on the sunbeds trying to get access to the pool. Not a relaxing day by the pool by any means. Room - beach/pool view room, very small for family of 4 and was never a place I enjoyed being. Air con was good but cleaning was meh, had no soap for 3 days until I took the dispenser apart to visibly show it was empty. Location - nothing really nearby other than some markets which were good but a 15-20 min walk away. Beach - covered in pebbles, almost unusable as a place to get away from the chaos with small children Restaurants - needs Al la carte options included as part of the all inclusive, not been to one before that does not offer this without a surcharge and its only one restaurant. The main buffet restaurant inside feels like an Airport Lounge! Not a nice place to eat so I would encourage sitting outside for dinner and breakfast where you can comfortably sit without the heat being too strong and feel like you're in a fancier place than inside. Now most of this on regards to guests behaviour and attitude the hotel cannot control which I get, but the hotel should be more aware that when you have busy periods such as July there needs to be considerations with meal times not being just 2 hours for dinner, possibly having another adults only pool or even a kids pool that's deeper than the 34cm one there already for babies which would lighten the load on the main pool and sunbeds required for the amount of guests. Would I return, probably not, it didn't feel like a relaxing family getaway, it felt chaotic, anxiety ridden and full of people I would actively avoid if I had the choice. If we did return it would only be for the kids as the animation team was the best we have ever experienced at any resort and truly made our stay so much easier to forget about the bad stuff and concentrate on the kids experience.

Mukarnas is a very clean and well resources hotel and spa. The food was generally good The Baklava dessert and the freshly made Turkish food in the afternoons were lovely..great pool.and good pool bar. What would have made this an excellent stay was if mukarnas front line management and concierge service worked on their interpersonal skills and actually cared for their visitors. We arrived as a family of four at 3am and were met by a very cold and stern faced concierge. There's a lady who is particularly disinterested in devoting any time to any queries and was really short and sarcastic. Otherwise Mukarnas was good. The cleaning, spa and pool waiters and staff are lovely.

We had a really enjoyable holiday with my family at Mukarnas. It is an excellent family hotel, and I’d like to share our experience in detail below. Main Restaurant – 8/10 The food was delicious throughout our stay. The themed dinner nights (Turkish, Mexican, and others) were especially interesting, and my family really enjoyed them. The only negative point was the service speed. However, I don’t think this is the staff’s fault. The problem is simply that there aren’t enough employees. They were running everywhere and working extremely hard, and you could clearly see how exhausted they were. I hope the management will consider increasing the number of staff. Mini Club – 9/10 A special thanks to Bety and Imana. They are very kind and hardworking. My daughter even started calling them her sisters. 😊 They made her holiday unforgettable. Pool – 10/10 The pool is large enough, and you can always find a place to swim. I also really appreciated the sunbed policy. Guests are not allowed to reserve sunbeds with towels before 7:00 a.m., which is a great rule and makes everything much fairer. Bars (Pool, Beach, etc.) – 7/10 The bars were good overall. The staff were friendly, and the cocktails were nice. Nothing particularly outstanding, but we were satisfied. Snack Bar – 10/10 One of our favorite places! The snacks were delicious, the atmosphere was amazing, and my family really enjoyed having lunch there every day. The meat was especially tasty. Ice Cream Bar – 4/10 Unfortunately, there wasn’t much variety. There was only one type of ice cream available each day, which is disappointing for such a large hotel. Also, one of the employees always had a poker face. 😄 Morning activities: 10/10 This was my favorite part of the holiday! The animation team was amazing, especially the morning activities. They were fun, energetic, and entertaining. Evening shows: 6/10 I wasn’t a big fan of some of the evening shows (such as the fire show). Interestingly, when the evening entertainment was performed by the animation team themselves, it was much more enjoyable and fun. Beach – 8/10 The biggest disadvantage is the rocky beach. However, the beach itself is well designed, with comfortable sunbeds and a very nice pier, so we still enjoyed spending time there. Room – 10/10 The room was spacious enough, with a cozy balcony that we loved. Everything looked modern and new, and the bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping – 10/10 The housekeeping team was incredibly hardworking and kind. We were very satisfied with their service throughout our stay. Final note :) We truly loved Mukarnas. Our 8-day holiday was amazing and unforgettable. The friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere made us feel welcome from the first day. It was also great to see guests from so many different countries and cultures, which made the hotel feel even more lively and international. The only downside is the distance from Antalya Airport—it takes almost two hours to reach the hotel. But honestly, after spending a few days at Mukarnas, you completely forget about that long transfer. Thank you to the entire Mukarnas family for giving us such a wonderful holiday. I have stayed in less expensive 5-star hotels in Turkey that offered a much better overall experience. This was the first time I felt I was spending far too much of my holiday simply trying to get a beer. The waiting times were extremely long, with queues almost everywhere, which was both disappointing and frustrating. The beach is also not very child-friendly. It has medium-sized stones and constant waves, so children cannot safely play in the water without direct parental supervision. As a result, the pools were always overcrowded and not very enjoyable to use. On the positive side, the hotel has very good facilities, and the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. With better organization and shorter waiting times, the overall guest experience could be significantly improved. Overall not recommended.

Location: Lovely location and we spent 60 euro each way on private hire taxi booked in advance with Aircon. About 1.5 hours from airport. Stoney beach so bring beach shoes if you don't want to walk on stones. Beautiful. Buzzing atmosphere in July. Quite a lot of hustle and bustle in the resteraunt and by the poolside. We watched 2 sunbed wars happening over the week. Not the hotels fault - just some tourists being rude to each other. Beach is chill and more space to chill. Pool is packed in July. I've been before in May and June and much more enjoyable for me then :) Rooms are stunning and housekeepers are fantastic 10/10. Aircon is beautiful. Beds are comfy. We booked as a couple and had a king-size bed, a single and a pull down bed in the room when we arrived and I wondered if that's because it's so busy and there wasn't time to take the other bed out ? It was taken out the next day. Great value for money. Thank you Mukarnus. Noise level is fine. Louder poolside. More chill beach. Noise quietens after 11pm. Obviously in July it is school holidays so we heard lots of children screaming in the evenings ( not a problem for us but if it would bother you book when it isn't school holidays). Service was fine in July. Cleaners 10/10. Emir who hosts BBQ 10/10. Main restraunt - Breakfast 7/10 for staff being attentive. Lunch 7/10 for staff being attentive. Dinner 4/10 for staff being attentive. The staff general effort though 10/10 as they were so busy. I shouldn't have sat my whole meal without being greeted or asked if I required water over dinner. Food in resteraunt 10/10. The children who were working as waiters and cleaners 10/10 - service with a smile and they were more and more confident everyday. I think we will return again - it will be my fourth time. However I would prioritise my visit in April, May and June time as this suits my preference for busyness ☺️ A side note - it is wonderful hospitality overall. I can only imagine all the effort that goes into creating the unique experiences that are provided.
