Spice Hotel & SPA

A weeks stay from end of April into may. Some areas not open early in stay such as the pier and the snack bar behind sherbet bar. (It did open after a few days). Overall the place is great. Service in the Casablanca bar was excellent as was service throughout the hotel. Customer relations were great when some items got lost in our group. Great choice of food in the main restaurant. Only criticism is the food in the main restaurant is not hot. Just warm. Maybe have some plates that are warm to help this. We went al acarte Italian one night. The service again was great. The steaks were average at best. Other dishes were good. Snack bar food is very good and prepared as you wait. Was very quiet during our stay as hotel season just seems to be starting. Please get some single donuts for the elephant slide! The nightclub could definitely do with upgrading. Overall a great place with very helpful staff.

Very nice hotel albeit not a lot open until 1st may including aircon. Customer relations Nigora very friendly and helpful and always checking every thing ok . Ramhi very good in bar

Lovely stay. Food and cocktails were very good. Air conditioning wasn’t on as out of summer season however we were offered an alternative room which we declined as view from room was good and we managed by keeping windows/patio doors open. Hotel clean.

The hotel has nice facilities and a pleasant atmosphere, but unfortunately the overall service, comfort, and maintenance standards did not match what you would expect from a hotel of this level. The main issue seems to be a lack of proper supervision and management. Many staff members did not actively engage with guests, and even during restaurant service it was common to see employees on their phones while guests were being ignored. This was especially noticeable in the spa and pool area. On several occasions there were multiple staff members behind reception, yet if we did not say good morning first, they would not even acknowledge us. One day there was even a staff member sitting by the spa entrance focused on his phone rather than paying attention to guests. The spa communication was also disappointing. My wife asked a simple question about the hammam, and the response was, “Where are you from? You should know what it is for,” which felt rude and very unprofessional. We also only discovered through other guests that there were discounts available on massages, yet no information was provided in the room or at the spa. In other areas, staff often did not know basic information. Even something as simple as where to collect towels for the pool became unnecessarily difficult. Breakfast was another repeated issue. The coffee machine never provided properly hot milk, and despite asking staff every day to warm it, nothing was ever done. At the main lobby bar, I ordered a coffee and the staff member was not able to prepare a cappuccino. The room comfort could also be improved. The toilet paper was very thin and low quality, while the towels and bathrobes lacked the soft, fluffy feel expected from a hotel in this category. Replacing them with newer, more comfortable linens would improve the guest experience significantly. The general upkeep in some leisure areas also needs attention, with visible ceiling damage and worn recreational equipment. The gym space itself is actually good and has potential, but the equipment selection feels outdated and somewhat random, which takes away from the overall premium wellness experience. Overall, the hotel has potential, but it would clearly benefit from stronger supervision, better hospitality training, improved maintenance, and more attention to guest comfort details.

No air conditioning in any part of hotel. We got told it doesn’t go on until the summer!
