Montana Pine Resort Hotel & Spa

We am coming to the end of another 2 weeks here at Montana Pine and thought I would share my thoughts, good and bad. If you are coming here for the first time, I can see how the magic of this place would get under your skin. The location, the views, the pools and facilities never fail to impress. However as a returning customer it is worrying and sad to see the decline in services and standards. Some of the staff are excellent but unfortunately, the few who are not drag the others down. A few of our experiences including: Not having any pool towels when we returned to the hotel at 2pm and been told on numerous occasions by reception “It’s not my problem!” When we did eventually get towels the following day, been given a ticket and told they could only be changed after 3 days. Watching a waiter hack back flem and spit on the ground in the pool bar eating area. Absolutely disgusting. After complaining we can only hope he is reprimanded properly but as he is still walking around as though nothing has happened it doesn’t look that way. One of the waiters a small girl called ERVA (who had only been here 2 weeks) is a massive asset to this business as she took control and managed the incident even though the management did not attend. I hope they recognise her contribution and progresses within the business, to a position more suited to her abilities. The food is very repetitive and although some of the dishes were very nice it can often leave you feeling you have been fed rather than enjoyed a meal. We used to look forward to an evening meal on the terrace but now the magic has been tainted. There is no longer water on the table and mid way through our stay they changed the table drink service to getting your own drinks from the bar, whilst your food goes cold. If you were not in for a meal by 8pm a lot of the food was gone and not replenished even though the restaurant opening hours were till 9pm. On more than one occasion we were asked to leave at 9:10 by the waiter saying “clean time”. The sunset area is open but there is no longer a bar, which is a shame. White night and Turkish night (where you eat around the pool) no longer happen. House keeping seems to have been contracted out and the friendly feel has gone. There is no longer body lotions in the room and twice our shower gel was not fully replenished and ran out. For those who are saying I should not be expressing my opinion here but speaking to the management let me assure you I have (including a conversation with the owner). He took notes and will hopefully address our concerns. Unfortunately he is struggling with a failing Turkish economy and trying to attract guest and recruit staff is proving difficult for him. I fully appreciate this however, it does not excuse bad customer service and makes loyal returning customers look at other options instead. Unfortunately I feel the place is no longer a 4 star hotel but a 3 at best and I do hope they can turn this around and return it to the place I fell in love with many years ago.

Amazing hotel in a fab location! Up in the hills so it is very quiet and peaceful with incredible views. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help - we had an issue where our aircon wasn’t working & dripped water when turned on, and they fixed it very promptly. There was a lot of wildlife too (boar, tortoise, lizards) and cats!! I went with my mum (so 2 adults), and I would say that there wasn’t a lot on offer for children & it was geared towards adults so if you have children be mindful of this. It was perfect for us though being 2 adults! I’ll try to address things one by one: Food: very nice and flavourful, lots of options. I see people complaining but honestly if you can’t find something to eat then you must be Very fussy! At lunch/dinner they always had at least 1 fish and 1 meat option (usually chicken, turkey, beef), a couple of potatoes (chips and one other), pizza, rice, pasta. Plenty of dessert options and fruit also. For breakfast they had beans, eggs, pastries, bagels, pancakes, fruit. They also have the gozleme (pancake) station and these are AMAZING!!! essentially a uk style pancake/crepe but more doughy and the lemon and sugar are cooked into it rather than put on top. Drinks were also good, can’t complain! Cocktails were weak but you get that in all all inclusives so to be expected. Rooms: we stayed in a standard room, they had plenty of space for 2 people and a big bathroom too! You get aircon, tv, 2 mirrors, a cupboard & bedside table, safe, wardrobe space with approximately 8 hangers, minifridge and daily bottles of water too. We also got a complimentary towel for the pool which was a nice touch! Bathrooms only had showers, and water pressure is limited but was fine. They also offer a standard 2-in-1 body wash/shampoo. Hotel amenities: There are 3 pools, we only stayed at the 2 main ones (not Dolphin). The biggest pool was freezing but when it’s so hot it is a welcome cool down. The pool that drips into the main one was slightly warmer and also a lot shallower so better for me as I couldn’t touch the floor in the big pool! The bar & snack bar at the main pool was good and had lots of choice. The hotel offers a minibus service to the beach free of charge, however it will only operate at 9, 9:30, 10 & 4, 4:30, 5 so if you go or leave outside of those times you need a taxi, but that cost us about £5. Entertainment: Evening entertainment was good, we had a fire dancing act, latin dancing, karaoke, and a band. There were others but we didn’t see those. In the day they did offer some activities but we didn’t take part, the schedule is listed near the restaurant. They also appeared to have mini golf and tennis courts but again we didn’t use these. The sunset bar is not actually open either - you can go up there but there is no bar, but there are some tables and chairs. Also the gate is locked at 7pm! Nearby: The Lycian Way is right at the hotel which was amazing, just leave the hotel and follow the road to the left. Eventually you will see a steep downhill, at this point go left onto the trail which has concrete blocks in front to stop vehicles but allows pedestrian access, this is the start of the trail. Do bring proper gear & shoes as it’s not a walk!!! Also the hotel is only a 5-ish minute drive from the beach which is great too. Overall it was a great hotel and I would absolutely return in future!

Our 2nd time here. Just as great as it was last year, just how we remembered it. Room we had was the room I requested as had it last year, food for an all inclusive is lovely, never busy when you go to get food, no queuing, always tables whatever time you go, friendly and efficient staff, everything very clean wherever you go, good entertainment, lovely pools to cool off in. Set in amazing grounds, already looking for next year

We went as a family of five adults this June and had three rooms. The hotel was spotlessly clean through out and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room were large with a wardrobe area and safe as you enter the room. The shower in the bathroom was large and we got fresh towels and shower mat daily. We had a table and two chairs on the balcony, a fridge in the room with a new bottle of water daily. The hotel grounds were fantastic with a variety of trees and plants and there were spectacular views over the valley and surrounding area. There are three good size pools in the hotel and we had no issue getting sun beds every day. The pool by reception offers the most shade if you don’t like all day in the sun. The entertainment was good with singers a couple of nights, dancers, belly dancers and a quiz on other night. The entertainment programme runs over two weeks. You entertainment was in the stages by the pool and it was easy to avoid by going to the main bar if you prefer. The food was good with a good selection to choose from and even with a fussy there was always something for him to eat. The staff were very attentive in the restaurant. We choose to eat in the Al a carte one night for an extra cost of £8 per person and it was amazing with a great selection on the menu. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was chilled out, relaxed and quiet which suited us. You didn’t get harassed to join in activities but they were there if you wanted them and these included aqua gym, darts or tennis. The bar staff were amazing and worked so hard to serve everyone. We had great fun working on getting through the cocktails. There is a shuttle bus to town every morning at 9, 9.30 or 10 which will take you to the beach front and this return at 4, 4.30 and 5 or a taxi to the hotel is under £5. This was a fantastic hotel set in a beautiful location and we will look to return soon.

We visited here in 2023 it was fab the food wasn't great but the surroundings,service and pool area,room etc were lovely. We returned home today and are still stunned by how awful it was. The food...shockingly bad, limited choices, cheap cuts of meat /fish over cooked and at times undercooked,shocking food hygiene using the same tongs on raw and then cooked meat, no probing of food and therefore serving it raw I returned mine twice and gave up. Obsessive clearing of tables before you had even finished your food ! Flies all over desserts which were not stored on chilled surfaces,monotonous salads basic and again covered in flies,choice of meats were either chicken,turkey or liver🤮 oh and raw beef kofta repeatedly most nights. Turkish night a grand affair used to be weekly now fortnightly so it's pot luck depending on what week your there. Horrible karaoke and quiz nights replacing quality entertainment obviously to cut costs, seriously reduced animation staff the young guy tried his best the older guy was a grump. Ice cream only served 2 hours a day 😢 Tired rooms our bathroom wasn't cleaned for 6 days had to ask them to do it. Old thin stained towels our room 1501 was tiny no storage or decent hanging space, broken head board, thin itcy cover for the bed. Our aircon was dodgy didn't do much and was super loud and then conked out. Don't bother booking the a la carte equally bad as the main restaurant if worse. The reception team have no business being in hospitality they have no intention of making this a wonderful time for you and a particular shout out to the Day manager who was continously miserable and rude. I have made a formal complaint to jet 2 and suggest the owners rescue what was a beautiful unique hotel and bring it back to its former glory. Spoke to so many people that have been going for years who also said they wouldn't be returning. P.s please replace the parasols at the Dolphin pool and the main pool they are filthy and rusty and please don't make guests use pool towels consecutively for 3 days it's gross.
