HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria

Family holiday with toddlers aged 1 and 2 and grandparents. The resort is great for the swimming and rooms - absolutely brilliant the bungalows. One of the things I most look forward to on holidays is the food - by my standards, it is very average (I want to say below average). For the kids, it is great - good variety. Staff are lovely. There is no service with any meal for drinks which we are used to at other resorts. DO not go here if you are not a family because when we were there, it was just families with children under 5. I don't think I saw anyone without. The hotel grounds are well looked after, very clean - same for the dining areas. Cleaning in the rooms was a joke. We didn't hear any noise at night. Location is great. Local beach is okay.

Pros: We visited at the start of June and the weather was hot with a little breeze which was perfect with my two children who are 2 and 4. Transfer not too long and quick check in. Rooms are clean and modern. Shop on the edge of the resort. Food is basic but reasonable. Didn’t have to fight for sunbeds although we spent our time at the children’s pool. Lovely weather with a slight breeze, bring a jacket as evenings do get a little cold. On check out you can use the spa showers to shower and get changed. Can also still use the all inclusive faculties on the day you check out. Cons: Refreshments aren’t provided in the room through out a stay, just one bottle of water on arrival and with a lunch bag with sandwich’s but the sandwiches don’t accommodate for non pork eaters. For one beach towel you have to pay a deposit of 15 euros cash, it does get refunded at the end of the holiday but in my opinion for a family this is a bit steep. We went to the shop down the road and brought two of our own for €9 euros. You have to pay 3 euros a day if you want to use the safe. Charging for two things that they know people will need is unfair on a ALL inclusive holiday. Some items aren’t included in all inclusive such as slushies. Overall I’d recommend this hotel for families with young children.

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. The wristband that included your room key was a great idea. We asked for rooms close together and they did a great job of accommodating this. The pools and Splash Zone were fantastic for our 4 & 2 year old grandchildren. The main kids pool was heated. Sun beds were plentiful and there were always beds available whatever time we got to the pools. Although the hotel seemed only about 50-60% occupied during the weekdays we were there. Food in the main restaurant was good, with many choices and different every day. We were always welcomed at every meal time as we entered the restaurant. We also found the staff in the restaurant to be friendly and very hard working. The mini disco was at 8:15pm most evenings and was loved by the kids. This was then followed by a different entertainment show. The hotel is in a good location for exploring the town or visiting the beach. Overall we had a great week and would recommend this hotel to children of any ages.

Second time staying here, changed my next holiday to here after staying here the first time as I love it so much!!!! Particularly love the set up of the bungalows with the terrace to sunbathe on, as I was solo, it meant I could just relax in the sun in the comfort of my own place. Every single member of staff are lovely, always smiling, always chatty and the bar staff helped me improve my basic Spanish lol, always nice to attempt to speak even a little of the lingo when abroad and they appreciate it!!! Anyone who moans about the food must be very picky and have quite a sad life lol there is absolutely loads to choose from and I particularly loved the fish with the local ham and cheese etc I don’t want to go abroad to eat bacon and chips for a week, heard someone complain that the “bacon was not out” I just don’t get it when you have such a wonderful selection of local food which is far nicer than British food!!! Hotel grounds are spotless and kept clean with staff always on the go working hard to maintain it. Close proximity to the Yumbo centre and the hotel puts on a free shuttle bus down to the beach. Weather was amazing early June with barely a cloud the whole week. Nothing in this place is ever a bother to anyone who works in this hotel, such lovely people with lovely attitudes. I’ve booked AGAIN for January with my mum this time to share my fabulous experiences here….. I’ve travelled a lot to various Countries over the years and now I feel this is the place I’ll go to as I wind down on sightseeing and just want a relaxing week in a place I know know and love. Everything about it holds a wee special place in my heart and I can’t wait to go back already lol.

We recently stayed for 7 nights at HD Parque Cristóbal Gran Canaria in a 1-bedroom Premier bungalow as a family of four and had a fantastic holiday. The highlight of our stay was definitely the entertainment team and the splash zone for the kids. They were brilliant with the children throughout the day, keeping them engaged with plenty of activities, and the evening entertainment was also excellent. Their enthusiasm and energy really helped make the holiday special for our kids. The splash zone was were we spent most of our time there as our kids loved it. 3 slides for small kids. 1 slide for bigger kids. Also a large enough pool. We stayed on a self-catering basis, so I can’t comment on the food offered by the resort. However, having the Hiperdino supermarket onsite was extremely convenient. Prices were very reasonable, and we found it perfect for picking up breakfast and lunch items, as well as snacks and essentials throughout the week. The resort itself was very clean, well-maintained, and family-friendly. The only downside for us was that drinks purchased around the resort were a little on the expensive side. That said, drinks at the onsite Hiperdino were much more reasonably priced. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend HD Parque Cristóbal Gran Canaria to families looking for a relaxing and child-friendly holiday in Gran Canaria. We will be back next year.
