Hotel LIVVO Valle Taurito

We’ve just arrived home from a weeks stay here with our friends and children. WOW it’s an eye opener for sure. if you like rubbish food, people arguing (nearly fighting) and swearing by the pool infront of your children and absolutely awful entertainment then it’s the place for you! We had people( locals) offering us and children drugs on multiple occasions which we reported to the hotel but I’m sure they are actually in on it. Everywhere is totally unsafe, the wooden planks by the children’s entertainment are so uneven and wobbly our son fell and cut his leg on it, again reported but nothing done. Everywhere is very very dated and dirty. Only good thing was the rooms were a good size and pleasant. I won’t even get started on the water park, the salt water is so strong the kids couldn’t even play in it and the life guards are so whistle happy it’ll give you a headache even being in there for 5 minutes. There’s a reason this hotel is on the lower end of the budget scale it’s absolutely rank and I would avoid like the plague.

Absolutely shocking holiday!!! Booked for 12 days here with my three children through jet 2, paid over £3000 for us to be violently ill with food poisoning for two days from the undercooked food, the vile saltwater in the waterpark next door made two of my children vomit, the snack bar serves cold hotdogs or burgers day in day out and they’re disgusting, the entertainment is a waste of time, it’s the same thing week in week out and it’s shared with 3 other hotels! The scam of the amusement arcade is a farce too! Forcing you to spend even more money for the kids to get a few minutes of a go kart or trampoline, the room was okay but the sofa beds are old and incredibly uncomfortable, the bathroom was filthy even after cleaners had been in, the staff were rude and would not listen to my concerns, tried to change accommodation with jet 2 only for them to ask me to pay another £300! I raised issues on day 4 and it wasn’t until day 8 they offered to swap hotels. And by that time it was just unjustified to spend that money, had to spend a fortune on eating out every night as the food was again the same everyday and terrible, there’s nothing to do in taurito itself with it just being a tiny resort, so again having to fork out more money to visit nearby towns, the locals do not want tourists here at all! English people are treated so much different to locals, with the locals also being incredibly racist to people of colour, also the all inclusive for drinks is very minimal only offering one beer and 3 cocktails. It also only lasts until 11pm m All in all for anyone wanting to book this “4star” please bear in mind that it is more 2star at best! We cannot wait to go home!!!

Location was nice with good views and the people we met were the highlight of this holiday, Hotel is a bit outdated and run down for what is meant to be 4 stars, rooms are a good size but the beds are incredibly uncomfortable, Pool area is decent for what it is but there is minimal activities happening during the day, maybe an hour at a push per day. Night time entertainment is rubbish and the area is outside,shared with 2 other hotels so getting a seat on the outdated rickety picnic benches is a job in itself, only attempt a game of pool if you like off balance tables that ALL run to one side, The waterpark being salt water is just as you can imagine and the slides (the ones that are open) aren't in great condition so an hour at the waterpark is enough, just to say you've been. Food is the biggest let down of our holiday especially within the hotel, all options were low quality crap, even continental options for breakfast weren't the greatest, for it being all inclusive we ate out every day down at the beach front in the Grill Taurito which was great value for money and very friendly staff, also got stung for €100 to go and see Dolphins for 30 seconds on a 2 hour rollercoaster in the Atlantic, the amount of people that were feeling sick on the boat was unbelievable, complete waste of money, weather was brilliant.... Won't be back

We recently stayed at Playa Valle Taurito in Gran Canaria, and sadly, this was the worst holiday experience we’ve ever had. From the outset, we were excited to take our children; the hotel looked grand in photos, the buffet seemed beautiful, and the waterpark looked amazing. However, the reality was far from that dream. Our first major issue was with the waterpark. It uses saltwater, not chlorine, which we found off-putting. Worse still, it wasn’t exclusive—access was shared with four other hotels, and on weekends, it was full of the general public, making it overcrowded. The hotel itself had no slides—just a basic pool, and it was so deep that our children couldn’t safely use it without floaties. The food was a complete disaster. We tried to rely on the snack bar after realizing the buffet was horrid, but it was the same dry hotdog and bread every single day. The salads were the only variety, and on rare occasions, we might get a Madeira cake. No chips, no burgers—just repetitive, bland food. One chef even outright refused to season the eggs when we asked—no salt, no adjustments. The only positive was unlimited Pepsi and 7-Up, which, honestly, is hardly a redeeming feature given how awful the food was. Considering we paid over £2,000, we were beyond disappointed. This was a severely budget holiday masquerading as a resort. I would never return, and frankly, this experience has put me off Gran Canaria for a long time. If I could get a refund, I would in a heartbeat.

This holiday just really didn't work for us at all. I was on my own with 2 children and found it to be a real struggle. For me, this was the wrong hotel for many reasons, and I am sure for families with older children it would be sufficient, but I would not recommend this place with young children. The great appeal was the waterpark but even during the school holidays there's barely anyone using it and after our first visit it was clear to see why. Its a saltwater pool which was so uncomfortable to be in and the children jumped straight back out, so that basically killed off any enjoyment we were going to get from the facilities. The main hotel pool is small and not really child friendly, its too deep for them to enjoy and not really a sociable space for them to make friends. The hotel itself was unloved and tired. Was clean enough but needs a revamp. As a family of 3, we had the sofa bed set up for us as the third bed. It was so old and out of shape that it did not make for a comfortable sleep. Unfortunately, id love to be able to at least say that all the staff were lovely and make up for the facilities, but my experience did not allow for me to say that. After my son fell ill and we had to isolate in our room, I received no help or assistance to help with this. Which meant, leaving 2 children in the room whilst I had to collect food from the restaurant and walk up 4 flights of stairs carrying said food. I also felt like up to that point at any food or drink outlet you were met with annoyance rather than a friendly service. There's a small selection of shops but other than that you are very isolated from the rest of the island and if you want to venture out, taxis are incredibly expensive. I thought the entertainment in the evening was pretty poor standard but you take it with a pinch of salt, however the seating area size for the 2 hotels is far too small so most have to stand and the bar is far too small for the amount of people needing to be served, so you are waiting for quite some time.
