We arrived very late but it was lovely that a cold plate and fruit had been set aside for late arrivals. Our room, which I think was standard across the hotel, was large, with tea/coffee provided. Lovely bathroom with big shower. The robes were lovely and fluffy but we did notice that during our weeks stay the towels provided weren’t the best quality. When we opened the curtains on our first morning, we were gutted to find the tiniest corner balcony with no view and no light. Having chatted at breakfast, we decided to speak to Reception and were offered a change of room - so pleased we did this as it really made the difference to our holiday. Thank you Toni on Reception for your help with this - greatly appreciated. The hotel itself is immaculate - we were initially worried about the size, being bigger than we would usually choose, but it really didn’t feel like that. Staff were fabulous throughout. The food was amazing at breakfast and dinner with lots of lovely options - not always fully labelled on the salad sides. We did have an issue at the Krystal restaurant where staff checking in said we didn’t have a reservation and we were asked to step aside - the lady came across as quite abrupt and we felt really uncomfortable. I eventually found a screenshot of my booking and we were allowed in but it left a sour taste. Oasis restaurant was great - we had paella which was amazing but the rib eye looked equally as good! The pool area was good - we always used the main pool and beds were always available. I do think some gentle music would provide a better ambience. I agree with other reviewers that too many people put towels down and didn’t go to their beds until after lunch. Also, there were guests close to us continually vaping - this isn’t okay! Having the dunes on the doorstep was great - we went for a walk every morning before breakfast which was perfect. We also got the number 32 bus to Mogán which is definitely worth doing - it’s such a beautiful place - so many lovely cafes and bars and we enjoyed tapas overlooking the harbour.
Overall an amazing holiday. Initial issue with our room but rectified in a timely manner. Breakfast and evening buffet excellent. Location is a little far out for bars entertainment beaches and restaurants but ideal for the Dunes.. Speciality Restaraunts both excellent.
I’ll start with the good as it was mostly all good. • immaculately clean throughout • food is very good compared to other hotels - still prefer going out but could happily eat there every day • there is no longer a charge to use the safe • all staff are lovely and all seem happy to be working there • prices reasonable for drinks and bar snacks (€18 for a litre of good sangria) • pool is great for cooling off, 1.1m max depth may be an issue for some Slightly negative aspects • we were specifically asked if it was out let honeymoon multiple times (it was). This led to slight disappointment when nothing was done to make the stay extra special. • men must wear trousers in all dining areas whilst some women turn up in swim wear. Very sexist policy. Overall a lovely place to stay if you want chilled out vibes
I wouldn’t normally rate excellent in every category, but it was deserving for this hotel. Notably, all the staff were very engaging which created a really pleasant atmosphere. The food quality and choice was excellent too. Overall a really well run hotel which we would be happy to recommend and return to for a similar relaxing break in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at Riu Palace Maspalomas in terms of service. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel is absolutely impeccable. The food is also very good. However, our sleep quality wasn't the best. Instead of a proper double bed, the room had two small beds pushed together, which wasn't very comfortable. Also, if you like to sleep in past 8:00 AM, it can be quite difficult, as the cleaning staff makes a lot of noise in the corridors early in the morning. Overall, a great hotel with amazing service, but room comfort and morning noise could definitely be improved.
