Overall this is an average hotel/resort and not in my opinion worthy of its four stars. The room seemed very basic and lacking in any charm or appeal. Whilst it did have the obligatory mosquito net above the bed it looked like it would fall down at any moment and seemed unstable. The tv had no signal but to be fair we didn’t bother reporting it to reception. The bed was reasonably comfortable with clean bedding but was very noisy. This was also the case with other guests we spoke to. We had a loose and potentially dangerous light fitting in the room. There were tea and coffee making facilities but milk was often missing. Our room developed a foul smell relating to the drainage towards the end of our stay. The pools were ok but some flags and pool steps were loose and in need of maintenance. The grounds were constantly being maintained and cleaned which was good to see. The bars were ok and had a reasonable choice even for the basic all inclusive option although the fresh fruit juices were watered down almost beyond recognition, this was the same in the restaurants. One of the restaurants was closed for a refit so there were only two to choose from, an Indian which required a reservation and the general buffet. Food in both was satisfactory but nothing special. The variation wasn’t great as it moved between Asian, Oriental or International which was again biased to Oriental. I think the quality of the meat could be improved as there was a lot of fat or gristle in the dishes. Soups were nice and the desserts were ok. Despite it being all inclusive the restaurant was only open at certain times and the snacks were non existent. The spa and excursion staff constantly hassling you. There was a good games area although they need to get a new set of balls for the pool table. Also there is NOTHING to see outside of the resort. The ‘village’ is four stalls selling typical souvenirs which are ok but there is nothing else at all. We had hoped for so much more from this break after an amazing safari.
We spend 10 days at the resort and was for sure a memorable expetience. A special mention and thank you to Gawie (Guest Relations Manager) and his team for the exeptional service they provided. Friendly and very accomodating, no request was too much. The team went out of their way to make this expirience memorable.
