Grifid Hotel Bolero

We, 2 adults & 2 x 10 years old, stayed at Grifid Bolero expecting a better experience given the 400 euro per night we payed... The good The room was a decent size and quite comfortable. Nothing spectacular, but perfectly adequate for a holiday. As our room was on the ground floor, there was occasionally an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, which was not ideal. The food was generally good, although I would not describe it as particularly varied. There was enough choice, but I expected more variety from a hotel in this category. The Italian à la carte restaurant was excellent and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The staff do their best and they keep the place really clean, both inside and around the pool. The gym is small but decent enough for a basic workout. However, most of the equipment is quite old and clearly belongs to a previous generation. The negatives The biggest issue for me is the value for money. At around €400 per night during our stay, I expected a more refined and premium experience. Having been influenced by previous experiences in multiple premium Bulgarian hotels. Check-in at 15:00 and check-out at 11:00 are disappointing. The four-hour gap is quite large, especially when you are paying for a relatively expensive holiday. There can also be long queues at the entrance to the main restaurant, which is frustrating during a holiday. The drinks are one of the weakest points. The quality is rather poor for a hotel of this category. Even the water is served from dispensers, which feels surprisingly basic. There are also several additional charges. Parking costs €15 per day, while the sauna costs €15 per person per hour. Even more strangely, during that hour you apparently have to choose between the wet and dry sauna rather than being able to use both. These charges are difficult to justify for a hotel positioned as a premium resort. Beach & Pool and sunbeds The beach has fine sand, but it is shared with other hotels in the area and was not particularly clean during our stay. There were quite a lot of cigarette butts in the sand. Also worth mentioning is that this hotel is in the second row from the beach, but it's close enough. Only a short walk. Another annoying issue is the reservation of sunbeds, both at the pool and on the beach. There are clear signs and messages saying that reserving sunbeds is prohibited, yet people continue to do it. Unfortunately, this is not limited to one nationality. Even some Western European guests seem perfectly happy to ignore the rules. On the good side I've witnessed in one occasion the staff removing towels from "reserved" sunbeds. Aqua park The aqua park is another disappointment if you expect something exclusive to the hotel. It is shared with other hotels, which means that queues can become quite long. The opening schedule is also strange: 13:00–17:00, basically during the period when the sun is strongest. For a family resort, I would expect a much longer and more practical schedule. Warning for families with strollers and people with disabilities. There are stairs without any alternative to access different areas, like the pool.

Wow—that’s the only way to sum up our experience! My family—two adults and three children , has been vacationing at Grifid Bolero for the fourth year in a row, and they manage to surprise and delight us every time. There are no downsides to Hotel Bolero. We often arrive late at night or early in the morning, and thanks to the wonderful staff, they always find a way to accommodate an early check-in for us. There are many positive comments about the hotel and its amenities, and they are all true. I want to focus on the most important aspect: the staff. The pleasant experience begins even before arrival; through emails and phone calls, we are made to feel welcome. Upon reaching the reception, we already feel right at home, and later, encountering the smiling faces of the manager, the chefs, the restaurant staff, lifeguards, bartenders, housekeeping, spa staff, and entertainers—I hope I haven't left anyone out—creates a fantastic feeling. This is the place we want to return to again and again, and the kids even sing the club song in the winter :) For me, this is the best family hotel in Bulgaria. I hope to see you in 2027. P.S. This year, my daughter and I stayed at Hotel Bolero for the fourth year in a row. We are always delighted by the wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. Highly recommended!
