An honest review on my 2 week family holiday Well 😂 it’s canny mixed, to be fair! We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who insisted on taking our suitcases to our room, and the reception staff were lovely too. Rooms: The rooms were very small and basic, but being a budget holiday, what else can you really expect? The beds weren’t quite double beds either — they were smaller, and two adults had to share one. The bathroom though 🤦🏻♀️🤢 Rotten! There was mould and slime around the shower screen. Sometimes the shower wouldn’t heat up at all, and other times it was so hot you physically couldn’t shower. The cleaner did a basic clean, but I honestly don’t think the floors were washed, hoovered or brushed during our entire stay. Same with the toilet — the limescale that eventually built up was horrendous. Food: Very hit and miss. Out of 11 of us, 7 ended up with an upset stomach. Some of the hygiene issues were absolutely disgusting 🤮 I witnessed a grown man stick his finger into the yoghurt, lick it, and then go to do it AGAIN. Children were eating cheese from the floor, licking the serving utensils and putting them straight back into the food. 🤢 The desserts were actually quite nice! You’ll probably also notice that the chefs wouldn’t give anyone but the Egyptian guests a full-sized pizza. If I asked for one, the chef would say “queue” and shake his head, yet others seemed to get them without a problem. We ended up eating at the Western Bar most nights, which was unreal! We also ordered Pizza Hut through the Talabat app. A large pizza, two melt wraps and garlic bread came to around £12, so it was really cheap. Snack bar: Shocking!!! The queues were an absolute nightmare. People constantly pushed in and arguments ended up breaking out because everyone else had been standing waiting their turn. We complained to the staff behind the bar and were reassured that the queue would be watched the following day and nobody would be allowed to push in. That didn’t happen 😂 One family member became upset after we had queued for around 10 minutes and a lady tried to skip the queue and get served first. This caused another argument. Management and security were called over and threatened that our family member could be arrested because the lady claimed her arm had been grabbed and the tray taken from her hands. The tray WAS taken from her hands, but she certainly wasn’t grabbed. Management spoke down to us, kept talking over us and immediately seemed to take the other woman’s side. The manager then asked who had told us the queue would be monitored. We couldn’t remember exactly which member of staff it was, and he said, “All members of staff wear name badges, so how do you not know?” Plenty of the staff did NOT wear name badges, but he was adamant that they did. The police never came. We knew our family member hadn’t grabbed the woman, and I can only assume CCTV would have shown what actually happened. Funny enough, after all that carry-on, the queues were exactly the same the next day 😂 So management talking about sorting it clearly meant absolutely nothing! Taxis: We got our taxis through the hotel. They were reliable and cheap, and the drivers were always lovely. Reps: One of the reps repeatedly wanted to take my 14-year-old nieces to a nightclub 😂 Who in their right mind would agree to that?! He kept going on and on and wouldn’t take no for an answer, which I definitely wasn’t impressed with. And a MASSIVE shout-out to Mohammed! ❤️ Waiter/bar staff — so down to earth and genuinely couldn’t do enough for our family. An absolute credit to the hotel! Overall, I personally wouldn’t visit again. However, for a budget holiday, I wouldn’t say it was all bad. There were some lovely members of staff and we still managed to enjoy ourselves. The biggest things that let the hotel down for me were the cleanliness, food hygiene, queues and the way management handled problems.

One of my worst stays ever in hurghada. From eco tours on the arrival who over charged me on the arrival off 18500 extra for my child who is 2 months old than allawaed age. To the Main restaurant who can not accommodate my family to the Ahmed in the receptionist who is very aggressive and arrogant. And the restaurant supervisor. Never again in this resort who doesn't know any thing about hospiality. The only two personswho tried to make better in Ashraf in tbe F&B and reception MGR.

We had a lovely family stay at Royal Lagoons Resort. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they always tried their best to help us with anything we needed. The hotel was clean, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the kids really enjoyed the pools and activities. The location was also convenient and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. Thank you to all the team for making our holiday enjoyable. We would happily come back again and recommend it to families visiting Hurghada.
