Animation team was really good and fun to talk with during our stay, jokes and pranks were funny as well. Made the stay at sharm reef really good

Sharm Reef Hotel is a reasonably priced three-star hotel, and overall, you more or less get what you pay for. The hotel is currently being renovated, with approximately 6–8 rooms being refurbished at a time. The renovated rooms look nice at first glance, but on closer inspection, the quality of the work is inconsistent, and it is clear that corners have been cut in several places. The renovation is not complete either. For example, the air-conditioning units are still the old ones. They work, but they can be difficult to regulate properly. Housekeeping, however, was excellent. We regularly found beautiful towel decorations on the bed, and sometimes even our clothes had been neatly folded. The housekeeping staff provided great service and definitely deserved their tips. The pool area is pleasant but worn. In several places, the pool edging sits slightly higher than it should, and the pool itself needs a thorough cleaning. Much of the grout has turned black, which could probably be improved considerably with a proper deep clean. The only bar is located in the middle of the pool area and serves drinks from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. The all-inclusive drinks selection is very limited. The drinks are small, and most of the alcoholic options are very similar. Coffee, tea and espresso are also available—when the machine is working. The same applies to the slush machine. During our seven-day stay, it only worked on the first day, even though we were repeatedly told that a technician had been called. The restaurant was one of the most positive parts of our stay. The selection is not huge, but the food generally has plenty of flavour. The hotel seems to focus on providing a smaller number of tasty dishes instead of a large buffet filled with bland food, which is often found at all-inclusive hotels. However, pasta and cheese feature heavily at both lunch and dinner. If you enjoy cakes, you certainly will not be disappointed, as there is an excellent selection. Meat is also frequently grilled in the evening, and thankfully, it is not always chicken. Unfortunately, the pizzas served at dinner were often cold and had very thick bases. The poolside snack bar served pizza made fresh from scratch, but Margherita was the only option. The selection was limited, but after all, it was only a snack bar. Overall, the food was good and one of the hotel’s strongest points. Our biggest disappointment was the animation team. We have stayed at several all-inclusive hotels and resorts in the past, where the animation team would normally consist of one leader and four or five assistants. Those teams were visible and engaged throughout the day, speaking and joking with both adults and children and encouraging guests to participate in the activities. In the evenings, there would usually be a children’s show followed by entertainment for the adults. You should not expect that at Sharm Reef Hotel. Here, the animation team consisted of only one leader and two assistants, both of whom appeared to be very new and inexperienced. The leader made a genuine effort to speak with guests and create a friendly atmosphere. The two assistants, however, were generally very passive and made little effort to engage with most guests. When younger women were involved, they suddenly became much more outgoing, talkative and active. This made their lack of engagement with everyone else even more noticeable. The morning activities ran from around 10:00 a.m. until noon and mainly consisted of stretching and darts. The stretching did not appear particularly professional and attracted very few participants, while the darts session was also rather dull. In the afternoon, there was a short dance by the animation team, Zumba, water polo on one day and belly dancing once. Apart from that, the activity programme was extremely limited. The team lacked the energy and spark needed to get guests involved. Instead, it seemed as though they tried to compensate by turning the music up extremely loudly. It was almost impossible to have a normal conversation around the pool. The same was true during the evening shows, where the sound was harsh, with far too much treble and very little bass or depth. A couple of evening shows took place on the better stage behind the restaurant, where there was good seating and plenty of fans. However, there was no bar nearby. Most shows were instead held on the smaller stage behind the pool bar, probably so the hotel only needed to keep one bar open. Many guests left quickly because of the excessive volume and limited entertainment. There was usually only around one hour of evening entertainment for adults and almost nothing specifically for children. If you are expecting a large and enthusiastic animation team with plenty of activities and entertainment for both children and adults, Sharm Reef Hotel is not the right choice. Had we travelled with school-age children, we would have been very disappointed. The hotel staff are generally very friendly, welcoming and helpful, although you should not always expect things to be resolved immediately. They make guests feel welcome, which definitely improves the overall experience. In conclusion, Sharm Reef Hotel is a reasonable choice if you are looking for an inexpensive holiday with excellent housekeeping, friendly staff, acceptable rooms and flavourful food. However, the all-inclusive package is rather weak, several areas need maintenance, and the entertainment is by far the hotel’s biggest weakness. If you keep your expectations realistic in relation to the low price, you can still have an enjoyable stay.

Our stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. The food was okay, although there is definitely room for improvement in terms of variety and quality. The room was clean and well maintained, which was very appreciated. The staff were always extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. A special mention goes to the entertainment team, who were absolutely amazing! They were very friendly, energetic, and always managed to create a great atmosphere. There was lots of dancing, fun activities, and positive energy, which really made our holiday more enjoyable.

Had a great time with friends and care home and really enjoy the the time. The staff make sure that we was good the time we spend. My plan is to come back with my family soon
