Intercontinental Crete

The spa at the intercontinental at Crete was very nice. The ambience was really good and pleasent. Music quiet and very relaxing, cleanliness was also very good and my massagist/therapist Moi, has hands of an angel, super recommend her.

Traveled as family with baby and older kids, unfortunately between jet2 and the hotel they messed up the room type for our older kids which they put Ina double bed with a sofa bed which meant you could even walk in the room. Hotel made it my problem, jet2 resolved it couple days later. Breakfast is good, different bits every day but every egg type you can imagine plus all the normal bits. Fresh honey even. Staff very attentive and pleasant knew the kids by name. Views of the bay are amazing with pool and it’s a lovely breakfast venue. Nice walk into town in the evening to eat and have a wander. Then the bad bits… reserve your sun bed by 0730 or don’t get one. Some days, no towels. Not permitted to bring you own drink to the pool, even in plastic container. Or food. Heard people get literally told off. Rooms are not cleaned well, the floor is mopped around but the carpets are thick with dust and hair which our baby got caked in when crawling around. Sheets not changed all week we had to ask…

I loved this hotel. We booked a suite room with an individual plunge pool. The suite was fantastic and we loved the plunge pool, perfect after a hot day out and about. The main pools are also great, never too busy in the pool but it was hard to find Sunloungers at times. The staff were fantastic - friendly, and so helpful with recommendations and even remembered what room we were in! Even at breakfast the staff were lovely (often in hotels they are understandably grumpy at 8am!) Breakfast it’s self was excellent (I’ve seen some reviews saying it was so so, I totally disagree - there was everything you could have wanted and more). The view from the hotel was stunning and the location great as well. We didn’t bother to get a car and it was fine. Can’t wait to return sometime.

Had a lovely relaxing massage with Maria. It was a treat for my birthday from my husband. She listened to what I needed/wanted and my massage exceeded my expectations.
