The location is absolutely breathtaking, everywhere you look is like a paradise, just walk down to the beach and you'll see exactly what I mean.
What a great hotel.... we have been several times and are looking forward to going back soon. Everything is so well maintained, clean and tidy. The food is the best we have had, and the Greek "Mythos" restaurant, a special treat. The rooms are spacious and so clean, and the little touches like chilled water fountain at the pool and gym, make for a lovely relaxed break. After a few visits, there's a loyalty program that gets you discount on drinks etc. All of the staff are a credit to the hotel, and many return year after year. The gym is excellent, and the table tennis table in the pool area is the best place to play (unlike some hotels, where it is outdoors)
Great experience with Spa with Dafni and Jenny, do not pass away without having a massage from them
I booked a 7 night holiday through TUI and choose the room “Junior premium swim-up with limited sea view”. When we arrived at the hotel (at 1am) we were told we had 2x à la carte’s and could use the Blue Bay restaurant across the road in the residences for breakfast. I had done my research on the hotel and knew that meant I had ‘Red Carpet’, but I wasn’t aware this was included when I had booked it. We went to our room, which was in the main imperial resort. (Room 411). Room The room was beautiful. Very lovely decor and it had everything we needed. Lovely bed, huge sofa, lots of storage. My only complaint would be the toilet. The toilet is just a frosted glass door that is not ceiling to floor, and no lock. It’s not private at all. We had a mini bar full of Pepsi, 7UP, juice, water. With nuts and crisps on the side. This was replenished everyday. The swim up terrace was lovely but only had the sun until lunchtime which was annoying as my husband and I are sun worshipers! We did sometimes struggle to find sunbeds after lunch anywhere. Within the hour of arriving we had a total power cut after I plugged something in and it tripped the electric. We called for reception and they sent maintenance. We also had some issues with our door and the key card not working. We were locked out of our room for a total of 4 times, and having to walk back up to reception everytime was frustrating. Pool We only sat around the main pool once during our time. The pool is nice. Not deep at all. Lots of people play catch or bat and ball on the pool. We had a Bali bed for a day for free as part of the Red Carpet. Pool bar is good, lots of cocktails, as they come over to you to ask if you would like anything. This is offered to everyone and not just Red carpet guests. Food The food was amazing. Very good variety and flavoursome food. They have theme nights, but you’ll always find something. The restaurants are very nice and staff are very attentive. The Blue-bay restaurant in the residences is just incredible. We went there for breakfast most days and you have the choice of buffet or à la carte. We also went there for an evening meal, and it was delicious. The fine dining experience was amazing! Beach Beach is nice. Not fine sand, lots of shingle. The beds on the beach belong to the hotel but there are plenty of people on the beach that are not part of the hotel. Lots of children. We did see one man take his child to the toilet in the hotel. The water is clear but very stoney under the water so lots of people wearing beach shoes. Location We didn’t venture too much out the hotel. I wanted to go to Lindos but TUI trip was booked up. I asked the hotel how much a taxi would be and they said €47 each way, which I felt was too expensive. It was only on the last day I heard from another guest that the hotel has a shuttle bus. This was not advertised or mentioned at all. It’s a shame the hotel didn’t tell me about this. There are a few little souvenir shops just outside the hotel on the right. We also walked up Kolymbia Hill to watch the sunset. It only takes 20 minutes and it’s so worth it. Entertainment We aren’t the biggest of evening entertainment fans. We did watch a couple of shows, but it was all pretty poor. Some singers that really could not sing. We watched a saxophone player in the Lobby Bar and he was good. Red Carpet I obviously had paid for this service without realising it. But I do not believe I received the full package as I should have. On my first day I should have had pool towels in my room, when I asked reception they told me I would have to wait till 10am to collect from the spa. It was only after being quite demanding that I wouldn’t be able to leave the room until 10am that they sent some to my room. The sea view swim up rooms seem to have different red carpet perks. My opinion would be to not bother with red carpet unless you are specifically staying in the residences over the road, or the sea view rooms. Airport Lots of queuing. The way back was worse than arrivals. The staff pushed everyone through the gates early and then no one had anywhere to sit. Lots of people sitting on the floor. We queued and waited for over an hour for fast food takeaway. Pros - The relax pool is quiet and chilled. This is where we spent most of time outside the room. - The sunbeds are solid wooden beds with thick cushions. Very comfortable. - The hotel is very clean and well looked after - Food was very good and much better than any other all inclusive hotel I’ve stayed in. - Room was cleaned in the morning every day and 3x evening, they came when we were at dinner and left chocolates on pillows. - Mini bar was restocked every day Cons - Red carpet was confusing. Unfortunately, I did not feel that I was treated any differently by paying for this upgrade. You do also have a different coloured wrist band so staff are aware. - Pool towels aren’t available till 10am from the spa. They are ok but a little old and could be updated. - Dressing gowns in the room, I did not use these as they looked very grubby. Old, grey and washed to look threadbare. Need updating. - Gardeners mowing the grass during the day outside the swim up rooms. I could not hear my husband speaking and the strong fumes of petrol were overwhelming. I had to go back inside my room till he finished. It ruined the chilled atmosphere. - The staff are lovely but the hotel definitely need to have better communication regarding what they offer, where to go for meals, what you are and aren’t allowed. I think they assume you already know as they have a high number of guests that return.
