Hard Rock Hotel Bali

This was my 3rd of 4th time here. An excellent location on Kuta Beach. Best and I believe biggest swimming pool in Southeast Asia. Great food and drinks reasonably priced for that caliber hotel. Located near other restaurants shops and mini marts. The beach is across the street. Spacious clean rooms with all the amenities. Super staff. I Will always stay there on a Bali holiday.

Highly recommend HR Hotel! This hotel exceeded our expectations. We have stayed in some of the most expensive and luxurious resorts and hotels around the world but this one gives a great mixture of luxury, peaceful, serene all at once. For a family friendly spot, it's one of the best we've stayed at here in Bali. The adults enjoyed it just as much as our 7 year old. We booked the premium two queen room but the amazing Dion at reception upgraded us to the premium king room - pool view as I wanted a nice view and it was perfect for our family as it came with a trundle bed. All the staff are friendly and lovely to deal with, from reception to restaurant, pool and housekeeping. Shout out to Dermika our housekeeper, you'll see one of the pictures has one of his amazing towel masterpieces. We loved this place so much, we've already booked our next holiday staying here again hehe.

I hate leaving reviews like this, though I hope another family doesn't waste any of their holiday time staying at this resort. This is definitely not a 5 star resort, 3.5 stars would be a massive stretch at best. Paid more than $500 a night for a room, checked in at approximately 12:00pm and left by 8:00pm to go to another hotel. This is the McDonald's of Bali hotels charging premium prices for poor service, bland food, and nowhere to sit by the pool. This sounds ridiculous, though there are hotels that you can get on sale between $50 - $100 a night that are far superior. After checking in, we went to the pool and walked for what felt like 2km to find a seat. The cabanas were all booked out (today and tomorrow) and all seats near the pool in the shade were taken. The staff at the pool had over charged us, brought us the wrong drinks...twice. Due to not having a great english comprehension, there was a cultural breakdown and we said enough trying to explain and walked away. The kids never went in the pool, never went on the slides and said they were happy not to go back tomorrow as they didn't want to walk around in the sun looking for a place to sit. I've never heard my kids say no to a pool with slides. Management offered us free food, though we really didn't want free lunch or dinner, we wanted to have a memorable experience with our kids and not fight for a seat near the pool. We didn't attend the afternoon tea, or the cocktail hour that came with the room as we were exhausted from the earlier experience. Also, the thought of having to fight for a seat at the afternoon tea or cocktail hour, with the established chaos at the pool was enough for us to opt out. We have now checked out and are at another hotel, having a great experience. Despite wasting our money we're glad we made the choice to leave the Hard Rock. I empathise with the staff working at this hotel, as they're in an untenable position. You've got budget guests paying $160 a night and other guests paying $500 a night. There's no tiered system for booking cabanas or reserved seating in the main pool area, and the private pool area is unexciting and essentially an adult pool. The Hard Rock Bali wants the prestige and money of a 5 star hotel, though it's obvious they are dumping cheap rooms to clear inventory and it's essentially a high density budget hotel. If you don't mind fighting amongst budget travellers for seats and experiences, stay here. If you want a relaxed 5 star, exclusive experience, skip the Hard Rock. Also, I'm not sure who is leaving positive reviews on the Hard Rock. These must be the budget travellers, though do your due diligence before you waste your annual leave and your money.

We just spent 3 amazing nights at the Hard Rock. We were originally in a Villa but hated it (resort life is for us!!) so we moved over to the Hard Rock and we were not disappointed. We had 2 x Premium Rooms and they were beautifully appointed. Comfy beds, lovely rain shower. Our kids (and us!) loved the pools and slides. You really don’t need to leave the resort at all to be honest, but if you do want to leave you’re in the heart of the action right near Kuta square and many restaurants and markets. Breakfast was great, busy but to be expected. Lots of kids, but you’re at a family resort. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for a couples only getaway! My only friendly suggestion to the Hard Rock is that they make the chill pool adults only. It’s not very “chill” when you have kids screaming and playing like kids do.

From the moment we stepped foot out of the car, we were greeted with the friendliest faces. Checkin was easy enough, our luggage was handled nicely. The general atmosphere was inviting...smelt good, family friendly, nice and cool. Our room was absolutely incredible! Spacious, clean, always well stocked and even though the hotel had loud events on at night and there were families staying all around us...we didn't hear a thing in our room! Room service was just as fresh as if you went to the restaurant for food so that's a huge plus when you're tired at the end of the day. Dewa was our housekeeper guy and he was AMAZING 🤩 such a sweetheart. The breakfast buffet was also delicious, very inclusive and well stocked no matter what time we went down. It was my brothers birthday and my daughter's 18th on the trip and both of them were treated like stars on their big days 😍😍 they had an ATM that exchanged into idr, they also had an exchange service at reception. Location was right in the midst of everything but you wouldn't know once you entered the grounds. Beautiful view of the beach though! Short walk to the big centres for shopping or lots of little shops for snacks etc. Would absolutely recommend Lulu at the spa for a massage and if you want to spend a day at the hotel pools...hire a cabana for the day! Amazing value, super clean, good to relax in the heat without the sun and way better having somewhere to store everything while you swim. Checkout was very quick and efficient...would definitely stay there again with or without kids because it's worth every cent!!!
