Mercure Bali Sanur Resort

The minute you walk into the pagode shaped reception you feel that you have arrived to a hotel that captures the essence of everything Balinese. You are met by the sounds of Bali from traditional music and running water from springs that immediately puts you in a state of relaxation if not a meditative state. The best thing about the hotel is the beautiful green garden and the smiling staff that will greet you everywhere you meet them and are eager to serve you. I also loved the paved bicycle and walkway along the beach, at least 5 km long, with beautiful beaches, cafes and markets, and where joggers can be found every morning. Private chauffeurs are always available in the courtyard. The reception will help with tours. The host daily events like sunrise excursions, firedance and music/dance like in the temples. I didn’t test the spa or the tennis court, but the spa menu looks really good. The breakfast consists of a huge selection of international and local options and was an everyday highlight. The rooms look a bit outdated, but the madras is new and GOOD and all technical installations are new. The reason I am only giving it 4/5 is due the snacks and meals offered by the beach bar and restaurant, day and evening, which I think is poor compared to what Bali has to offer, but to be fair, the other option along the beach are don’t look much better. Instead go to the streets. I wholeheartedly recommend everybody to try a stay at the Mercure Resort Sanur.

We had such a lovely 4 night stay here. Our room was quiet, very comfortable, large and airy. The two pool areas were very relaxing with plenty of sun beds. The buffet breakfast was generous and delicious with plenty of choice. The location on the beach was so lovely and peaceful. Staff were efficient and friendly making sure we were very much looked after. Thank you to all, it was very much appreciated and we look forward to another visit soon.

I stayed at Mercure Sanur for 4 nights as a single female traveller. I booked elsewhere but didn't like the hotel so visited Mercure by taxi before booking. The hotel reception was very helpful in giving me their best rate and allowing me to compare with Agoda.com. I by mistake booked the wrong room and reception staff were helpful in calling agoda for me, letting me speak to them on their phone and then cancelling my room free to allow me to rebook. House keeping are good at cleaning the room. The room was comfortable with hot water shower with good pressure, toiletries and clean bedding for good sleep. The hotel grounds are extensive and well maintained. The beach was lovely with sun beds with sea view. Breskfast buffet was good and they had gluten free bread for me. Restaurant staff were accomodating to my dietary needs ie being vegetarian and gluten-free. I really enjoyed my stay. Great sunset evenings and within 5 to 10 minutes walk from other bars and restaurants. Icon bali shopping mall and restaurants are a quick cheap taxi ride away. Hotel is great for nice, peaceful and comfortable stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. I think with a bit of maintenance in terms of updating paint and decoration it'd be even more lovely. I recommend staying here, you'll be looked after by staff. Thank you Mercure staff.

The hotel is fine. But I will not recommend it. The room is outdated and desperately needs renovation. The corners of the bathroom were black from the lack of cleaning. The hook behind the bathroom door was broken. There were centipedes and ants coming into the bathroom. This is because there are big gaps in the silicone filling at the joints I am a hotel professional so I am well aware of how to maintain a room and hotel. There are better places in the same rate
