TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach

The hotel was clean the food was ok. The entertainment area was not air conditioned it only had a few ceiling fans and it’s quite low so we found it hot and loud. One of the drinks machine was out of order one night so there were no water to drink if you wanted a quip sip of water before bed. The outside poolside bar was ok the girl that was behind the bar most of the time was polite but there were some of the bar staff very unfriendly and at one point never even acknowledged the people waiting to be served. There were self service for some drinks but the soft drinks machine was out of order for a couple of days meaning you had to go into the restaurant next door. The drinking strews on the bar were removed by the manager (according to the bar staff) and placed out of sight behind the bar so you had to queue and ask for a drinking strew. no bigger but annoying. The entertainment wasn’t very good apart from the boys that do the acrobatics we’ve seen them in other resorts and they are extremely good. Limited again by the low ceiling. There aren’t many places to sit outside around the hotel at night but the beach isn’t very far away and is quite nice. Cockroaches!!! We have been to the canaries many times and I am aware of the cockroaches. There were a few dead ones around the Hotel we had a large one in our room which was very much alive we saw dead ones around the restaurant and one morning we had a power cut in the restaurant and when the lights did come back on I moved our table and 3/ 4 ran across the floor and up the wall which for me was off putting. I did raise this with the hotel reception I also asked the Tui rep what precautions where taken to prevent food contamination, she hadn’t got a clue and told me to ask at reception which I did they said outside contractors come in at night and spray ??? All in all we still enjoyed the holiday but won’t rush back to this Hotel

We stayed at the Tui blue flamingo beach resort for 7 nights during the middle of August. As a family of six (four adults and two children), we found the resort to be very basic, and in places tired and in need of attention. The food and drinks on offer were average at best, and the evening entertainment was very poor. The entertainment staff do work hard though and need commended for their efforts. During our stay and upon return from our holiday, all six of us have suffered from sickness and diarrhoea. One of us took bad at the resort and the rest took bad on the day of our return and the next day after arriving back home. We have reported this to Tui given this was not an isolated incident, however they have not addressed this issue…..The surrounding area of Playa Blanca is very nice however, so we would look to return but not to this resort.

We were beyond disappointed with our holiday. I raised the issue that there was an awful smell from under the sink unit in the kitchenette and the toilet and nothing was done about it. Hygiene in our room was substandard. Floor barely cleaned as we found dirt here upon arrival. Sink area nor shower cleaned any day. The air conditioning unit was weak. There were a lot of stains and marks on the floor on arrival. Some furniture needs replacing or maintenance. There is staining in the bedroom and living room come kitchenette which appears to be from water ingress. The apartment was full of spiders. Balcony wasn’t cleaned sufficiently. Mirror in living room area was falling apart which was a health and safety issue for our children. Walls were dirty. There were cobwebs and spiders on arrival and never cleaned. Most of the staff were abrupt and we didn’t find it to be family friendly. We asked for hand towels from the cleaner one day and through no fault of his, there were no hand towels available. There is also black mould around the air conditioning units in the restaurant. We expected a higher standard for TUI. We got sick during our stay and our child ended up being hospitalized. We did not get a holiday with TUI, we got a health crisis through the lack of hygiene in TUIs hotel. The reps said they were aware that hygiene wasn’t up to standard yet nothing done. We don’t trust TUIs standard anymore. I flagged that I felt it was the water from the machine which we were informed was safe to drink but it’s the only thing 3 of us had in common to get sick. We gave our son bottled water. I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here. Spend your money elsewhere.

We have just returned from an 11 night stay at the Flamingo Beach. Hotel in general - Hotel is in need to some TLC and a lick of paint throughout, around our room the paint was hanging off and generally looked dated. When we walked into the room the electric switch was hanging off the wall, it was immediately repaired but not a good first impression, unfortunately the shower set up meant water leaked out onto the floor, the doors to the bedroom and bathroom didn’t shut as well. The restaurant was ok but like any all inclusive it becomes repetitive after a while, the kids liked the fruit and dessert options and the snack bar was ok. General comfort in the room was fine, it was cleaned most days and was to a reasonable standard apart from the doors and shower. We spent most days around the quieter pool and the kids and I enjoyed days in the pool, there were queues from 8am to grab a sun bed around the main pool which I refused to join. It would have been nice to see the bar open near the quieter pool as it was still quite busy and would be beneficial during peak holiday season. The entertainment was standard for TUI Blue, the usual kids disco and Tui Bot, the magic acts the kids enjoyed and generally was ok throughout, the bar area where entertainment is held is warm and stuffy along with a fusty smell didn’t make it a comfortable environment. Tropical on tap did help the experience tbh.. The hotel is in a nice location with great sea views and a lovely beach just at the bottom of the road. I wouldn’t stay here again but if people want a cheaper break for a few nights I would recommend to do so, we have been to other Tui Blue hotels which are to a lot better standard.

We stayed at Flamingo Beach for 1 week in the middle of August as a family of 2 adults and 2 children (under 10’s). When we arrived we were able to check in straight away (1pm) but had 3 large suitcases and there was no offer of help with these. We were given a map and sent on our way (10 minutes walk to the other side of the complex, up and down steps with 2 children and luggage!). Our room had lovely views of the sea though, and the room itself had everything we needed, other than air con! It is a very busy hotel. This is apparent during meal times especially. It’s like a school canteen. We also had to join the masses before 8am queuing for sunbeds. The drains stink around the pool, often blocked and leak creamy coloured water. The main activity pool was closed twice during our stay as someone had poo’d in the water. Make sure you pack swimming shoes for children as the paving around the pool is lethal. Also the tiles in the bedroom throughout if wet is very very slippy. Staff seemed friendly enough. The area of Playa Blanca was nice too. Supermarkets, beach, sports bar, restaurants all in very close proximity. Food was average, normal all inclusive options including pizza, pasta, burgers for children. Snack bar was a good alternative for lunchtimes. Drinks were branded which was good. Entertainment extremely poor, almost laughable, although the staff clearly work hard. We heard YMCA 4 times on one day. The mini disco songs are not the usual mini disco songs and are just random songs from the 80’s. Really disappointing for a TUI Blue. Although our children did enjoy the foam party. Overall we would come back to Lanzarote, but definitely not to this hotel. Too busy, too big, didn’t feel clean at all, and entertainment really poor.
