Another lovely stay albeit a last minute booking it was an excellent choice. Everything as imagined, great service. Looking forward to returning in February.

The hotel and staff are fantastic. Friendly, helpful and caring. The holiday was the best, boat trips were very good. I could not possibly think of anything bad, as there was not. Will be returning as soon as possible.

Property: Overall good. Recommend the buildings get a new coat of paint. Small property and you will figure out the layout quickly. Bathrooms in the main building both upstairs and ground floor are clean and air conditioned. There is also an outdoor pool bathroom with a long barn sink and shower, but no A/C. This is a quiet property. Day music was here and there and made the place feel nicer when it was playing. Be sure to bring your own tunes. A/C — Bathrooms, Piano Bar, Lychee Restaurant, Otaheite Restaurant, Game Room, Photoshop. Everywhere else is open air. WiFi — Spotty. When it works, it is great. Evening Entertainment — I believe this fell short. Lots of resorts I had been to had nightly shows. Here seems like there is an event daily at 9pm. Most events are music band/singer. There was a fire show and steel drum show that was good. Wild Life — not much of a problem here. No issues with mosquitos or anything that bites. Saw a lot of ants around the beach loungers as I presume guests spill drinks. Those ants leave you alone. There are about a dozen cats on the property. Most come out at night. I recommend leaving them alone as we were told they are fed daily. Room: Mini-split HVAC was great. It kept the room cool. Housekeeping times were inconsistent. I came back once at 4:30pm and the room was not made. Bathroom: Rain shower could be re-conditioned. Knobs do not work real well and the temperatures adjust with delay. There are shutters in the shower that open to the outside. I am not sure why it was designed like this as an outside passerby can very easily push on the slats and open the shutters while you shower. Restaurants: I wish there were more theme restaurants. Since this property is not so big, I suppose it only allowed four eateries. Food and drink quantity was not an issue. I wish there was more variety: Cassava Terrace — mostly buffet. Some dinners were menu. Buffet items do not change much daily. Otaheite — this is the only semi formal dinner. It was tasty. Lychee — Asian themed. It was an honorable attempt at this cuisine. Heliconia Grill — menu is decent and Pizza was reliable. Soft serve sometimes worked. Open fountain drinks was good. Evening table service depends on which server you get. Veggie Bar — good salads and fruit juices. Coffee Bar — overall good. Espresso not so strong. Beach: Nice calm beach as it was more like a cove, or a pocket beach, which really helped keep the water cold. Saw lots of starfish, schools of silverfish, and a baby stingray. It was nice the hotel provided floaters so you can lay out in the water. Served as a nice lounge cushion too. Pool: Small infinity pool and swim up bar. Loungers also have floaters too. Towels: Never enough. It’s a towel trade-in program. Two towels are in the room. You trade them out daily. They always run out of clean towels early afternoon. Water Sports: Hobie Cats, Hydro Bikes, Stand up Paddleboards, and PADI available. All aquatics staff very nice. Catamaran Cruise: Very nice hotel activity. It is actually a 2.5 hour cruise along the Negril West End volcanic coast to Pirate’s Cave. At Pirate’s Cave, you swim in and come out the other end. Definitely sign up for it. Trading Places: You can go to the sister resort, Swept Away, from 10am to 4pm. Airport Shuttle: The resort’s free shuttle was great both ways. It was about 1.5 hours each way from Montego Bay airport. I recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. There is no bottled water, only filtered water stations. The resort is amazing… but you will fall in love with the people! Excellent food (find the Asian restaurant) Get all the massages Rooms are very nice We loved the pool! Get to know the staff! (And take care of them) Hot tip (book directly with the resort)

We traveled this past February and spent a week at Couples Negril. We’re repeaters and know what to expect, unfortunately, we didn’t find the same level of service we’ve experienced in the past. Every year service seems to get a bit worse. We stayed in building 9, where they totally forgot about us and only got housekeeping ONCE. Every day I would have to call the front desk in the afternoon after realizing no one came to clean the room or get us clean towels. The service at the restaurants wasn’t the best either and we’ve found that a lot of the staff members we’ve become friends with don’t work there anymore. It was a truly disappointing experience considering the price we paid. Will we go back? I’m not sure we would pay that much again for what’s offered… But we’ve already made plans to try a different brand hotel in Negril next February.
