We booked a two week stay at couples swept away last minute, as our trip to Thailand via Dubai was cancelled. Having read the reviews, we felt that couples sept away was the best option that still had availability. I have to agree with most of the reviews, things could have been better. We booked an atrium room, the room was spacious, although dated, it was further from the road, we could also see the beach from our balcony. But as others have mentioned there is no soundproofing in these rooms. We were disturbed each day for over a week whilst workmen were renovating the block opposite. I had to contact reception twice to complain, the sound of woodwork being sanded by machines and workman shouting was less than relaxing when we were in our room for a shower and to sit and relax before dinner. I understand that renovations need to be done, why weren’t we informed that this would happening? And why wasn’t the noisy work completed when guests were out of the rooms earlier in the day? I even watched the wedding organiser more than once ask the workman to stop working whilst the bride and groom cut their cake and had their first dance? Because work was stopped for over an hour this day, we then had to put up with the workman bashing, crashing and shouting till after 9pm! ( we are early to bed) Hopefully the room we stayed is was next on to be renovated as it was looking very tired. Food was ok, Palms evening buffet became repetitive. My husband was disappointed with the jerk chicken, he tried it several times but said it lacked any spice. We enjoyed the food at Feathers and Lemongrass. We went to the Patois patio one evening but the service was poor and the food wasn’t great. We enjoyed the martini bar and enjoyed trying the different martinis,my favourite was the key lime martini. The coffee from the coffee bar was really good, thank you Kady and Tanisha. I would also like to mention Natassia in Feathers, Keron in Lemongrass, and Aliyah from the sunset bar. Whilst the beach is beautiful, our overall stay was average. I don’t think we will be returning to Couples Swept Away.
Great staff and food! Quality of rooms, bathroom & beach everyday was amazing. I appreciate the ice and water locations throughout the resort. The only recommendation I would give is to explain to new visitors they exist. It took us a day to figure out they were not hand washing stations since not all of them had signs to explain they were to get water & ice. I appreciate that the room also had reusable water jugs to take with you to the beach!
We celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary this past week at Couples Swept Away, what a wonderful amazing week we had. When we arrived we were greeted with a bottle of champaign and a lovely card from the staff wishing us a Happy 40th. We shared a couples massage at the spa which was top notch. I can't say enough about the delicious food at Feathers and Lemon Grass and Patois. We took advantage of the catamaran tour and it was so much fun. Please consider looking into this resort as they take such great care of you and treat you like Family
We had a great time. Loved everything about the place, especially the beach, the water and the aqua-sport staff. We like that the resort was beach-centered rather than pool-centered. The accommodations were clean and spacious.
We booked a 7 night stay at this resort and we really enjoyed our time in Jamaica. The staff in all areas whatever their job role were warm, friendly and welcoming. The grounds were imaculately maintained and quite beautiful, the beach is fantastic- well looked after , clean and just a lovely place to spend some time and we had no problem finding sun beds when needed at any time of day. My husband loves snorkling so took advantage of the trips offered by the hotel and really enjoyed this, I accompanied him on one occasion and as a non- snorkler felt very well looked after. We took a trip out on the glass bottom boat- the staff were amusing and knowledgeable and we also went on the catamaran trip down the coast:it is great that this is all included in the all inclusive package ( as well as a whole host of sport activities that we did not utilise). Our accomodation was clean, I would descibe the style as being rustic, but the most important aspect is that you feel like you are in a boutique hotel with lots of privacy and discretion , it is only as you walk around that you realise how big it actually is. We found the food to be good most especially in the bookable restauraunts ( Feathers and Lemon Grass) , but in all areas the service and smiles were welcoming.
