Couples Tower Isle

Check-in was prolonged. We were told to go eat and we would have a room when we got back. When we got back people we knew who arrived after us were on their way to their rooms, but they did not have a room ready for us. Getting a room took longer than an hour. Room was ok nothing great, but nothing really bad. The bed was below average. Food was poor. Even the upscale restaurants were not very good. I could always find something to eat but eating their food for a week was hard. Drinks were not good. I tried multiple drinks and none were very good. Some people were saying they were watered down...not sure about that. Pools were fine to good. Beach was uninspiring. Island was nice with a small pool and swim up bar. One day they put up a red flag and would not take people to the island. It seemed a little BS. Water was not that bad. I am a boat captain and boat in the gulf of Mexico. On that day we wanted to go to another Couples and were told only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It was Sunday so we were stuck. Scuba. I have been diving for 30+ years and talked to the dive personnel and was told that the hurricane took out most of the coral and there was really nothing to see. This is not their fault , but don't go to Jamaica for the diving. I appreciate that the dive staff were nice and honest about it. We did have fun on our week and maybe it is cheaper than other places (not sure wife booked), so if this is what fits your budget is is ok. We will go back to Sandals if wee go back to Jamaica. The employees were very nice and tried to make you stay as good as possible.

Went for a week in June and was very impressed. Normally Sandals people, we decided on this resort for a change. It was amazing, food was excellent with lots of options, entertainment was great every night. Resort shows a bit of her age but doesn't affect anything. Tons of chairs and floaties both around the pools and on the beach. Beach wasnt huge , but for us it was perfect. Plenty of shade too! What struck my wife and I were the amount of returning guests. And not a few, dozens! It seems half the resort had been there many many times. By the end of our trip we were genuinely impressed with staff food and immentities. We will return.

The Hotel forced me to use their doctor due to dehydration because they “couldn’t be responsible for other doctors”. They gave me IV fluids that they said would cost around $250 then they billed me $1500!!?? Then I got a bad Infection from it because they got the needle dirty and it spider webbed toward my heart from the injection location. I had to cancel my excursions due to horrible diarrhea cause by the medications and the hotel wouldn’t refund it even though it was THEIR doctor who did this to me. I couldn’t drink on the antibiotics so that was great when you’re on VACATION… Then the hotel made me pay even more to see another doctor when THEY gave me the infection.. They did NOTHING to help the situation or be “responsible“ for their own doctor like they said they would be. They have NO integrity. They didn’t refund anything or offer anything. It costed me $2000 more dollars when all was said and done. Yes, I paid $2000 to be given an infection and have my vacation absolutely ruined by this hotel.. The scuba diving staff saw me seeing the nurse and arbitrarily cancelled my scuba diving when that was THE WHOLE REASON we chose this place, because it was included.. We had a medical release and they still cancelled it.. Besides that.. Ugh, where do I begin? The freaking hot tubs didn’t work. One was empty and broken and the other had no heat and dirty cigarette butts in it…🤮 No music at the beach or pools during the day and barely any music at night.. Terrible WiFi, don’t even try using it. Bad AC and the room had hair all over it and smelled like foot fungus and sewage. Not kidding, the staff are the rudest people I have ever dealt with at a resort. They legitimately treat you with disdain, ignore you and are just all around rude. Staff was constantly trying to hustle me with side deals and trying to see how much money they could con me out of. STAFF, not random people. Staff refused to give us the food we wanted repeatedly. I ask for two beef patty’s, they give me one beef, one chicken even though they have more beef and when I ask for beef, they act like I’m the one causing a problem. Order more freaking beef pattys geniuses. I ask room service for Sprite with breakfast and it came separately, 2 hours after the breakfast it was ordered with. Lol. Plastic water bottles that have to be filled with tap water because they don’t have bottled water for guests? Wth? I asked guest services for one of their “complementary” water bottles and they never sent me one.. Ask for water when dining and wait 20 minutes to get a glass filled. Ask for a cup and wait so long you end up getting one yourself. The place is just a travesty. Nothing about it is good. The only thing good were the things NOT at the hotel.. Stay anywhere else, this place and the people who run it and work there are a total joke.

My husband and I went to Couples Isle for the 3rd time to celebrate our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. They surprised us with Tshirts for being repeaters, a bottle of champagne and water bottles in the room. They restock the mimi bar daily with the alcohol selections of your choice, juice, soda and beer. The room is cleaned daily and has nightly turn down service. We ate at Bayside and 8 Rivers restaurants, you have to dress up a bit for them. They have a 5 course meal menu, the food is amazing . The patio restaurant is great, the buffet is decent for a buffet. They have a lot of choices. Room service is included , quick and delicious. The staff is wonderful. I recommend a botanical tour of the property with Alfred. The beach, grounds and pool are beautiful and well maintained. It's hot there but there's always a breeze so it's very nice. We had no problem getting lounge chairs on the beach or by the pool. The ocean is absolutely gorgeous and the pools are big. There's shade available too which is nice. The only down side is the drive from the airport to the resort. It takes about 2 hours. The shuttle is included and has ac, but it seems like a long drive. We have been to a couple of other resorts in Jamaica, but Tower Isle is our favorite, aside from the drive to get there. It's reasonably priced, everything is included, great food, staff and adults only. There is some entertainment at night, but it's not a party resort. We will be returning.
