Diani Sea Lodge

This hotel is a gem. My first visit here in 2021 was great and I enjoyed every minute of it but coming back two more times and finding way better standards blew my mind! I love every aspect of the property itself, location, the team as well, goodness! Rooms: This is one of the few properties that remains truly quiet and restful. Most of their rooms are in the gardens with some (bahari view rooms) facing the sea, but I love their layout because the rooms remain absolutely quiet even when there's evening entertainment near the pool area. Bonus points for bird spotting on your veranda in the evenings with a nice cup of coffee. The housekeeping team are great as well, the speed of room cleaning was insane because I was out for an hour only when it rained heavily and came back to our rooms being spotless and completely ready for us. Meals: I think it only offers all inclusive options which is brilliant. Every trip has had a different mix of people that I have gone with and you can tell they take care to learn who they're looking after. I have diet restrictions, and asked one of the chefs at dinner about an alternative on my first night, and he remembered and every time he saw me during meals, would let me know what was safe for me to eat which felt so thoughtful and caring and let me enjoy my meals with no qualms because I felt that they kept this in mind for everyone. There were clearly designated vegan, vegetarian and gluten free spaces during all mealtimes. Absolutely have pizza and the tropical salad at the snack bar OMG you'll love it. The beach: For the first time in a long time I didn't struggle for a lounger. They have soooooooo many, I actually wondered how they had that many guests! And I love that they're light and very easy to move. Wake up extra early to find the beachfront ones under the umbrella shade though. Plus there's no disturbance from beach vendors when you're on the property, and we also weren't bothered when we went onto the beach itself. My biggest thing though, was their work towards sustainability. Every room gets reusable water bottles, and the whole hotel has phased out single use plastic beverage bottles which considering the weather, is awesome and something I love on a personal level. Kudos to the GM, and special mention to Obadiah who was a rockstar during our stay :)

I had the worst experience on check in. Requested for an early check in and they still kept my family & I waitimg for hours on end, though taking care of the whites. Talk about racism in my own country straight up in your face!!! Even my kids noticed it. Worst experience and to make it more worse, they refused to refund me to go elsewhere. Kenyans being treated badly in their own ground, lowest tier of racism. They give Germans first priority for everything. Evwn act like you do not exist. Reception & reservations manager did nothing to salvage the situation. I really wasted my money. First & last time stepping foot there! Be aware!

The hotel is affordable but I wish I went somewhere else. Its an all inclusive resort, location is okay, the food is alright, friendly services but the rooms need to be renovated!!! The hot shower was not working,the bathroom sink was broken, no sealed bottled water given but rather refilled in some bottles (shown in the picture)-this was unhygienic as I dont know for sure is its was handled well). The towels- as shown were so old 😭, curtains lets not even go there.I was abit disappointed but I made do.

We stayed here for 7 days during our honeymoon February/march .Amazing hotel on the beach.Everything was amazing.Very friendly staff.Enviroment very clean.The food was very delicious.The best beach view rooms are very clean.We did some activities like tsavo east safari,wasini dolphins , snorkeling with Anold .The best professional guide in diani .his WhatsApp +254 797 867 697
