Choosing to spend our Easter holiday at Serena was an easy decision—it has, over the years, become more than just a destination for us; it is our home away from home. In fact, it remains the only resort on the North Coast that we faithfully return to, and with every visit, the experience only gets better. This trip was particularly meaningful. I had the joy of bringing together my parents, my parents-in-law, and my siblings—a full family of 16—for a special celebration. We marked my dad’s 60th birthday and retirement, alongside an early 5th birthday celebration for Owen. Coordinating such milestones for a large group can be overwhelming, but the Serena team handled it with such grace, precision, and genuine care that every moment felt effortless and magical. One of the most touching highlights of our stay was how the team came together to celebrate my dad and Owen. They didn’t just acknowledge the occasions—they brought them to life. The staff sang, danced, and celebrated alongside us with so much joy and sincerity. It was not a performance; it was genuine, heartfelt, and filled with such warmth that it moved all of us. Seeing my dad so celebrated in his milestone year, and Owen so joyfully included, created memories we will cherish forever. From the very beginning, Evelyne stood out for her exceptional planning and coordination. She anticipated our needs even before we voiced them and handled my countless calls with patience, warmth, and unwavering professionalism. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the celebrations without a single worry. The culinary experience was nothing short of outstanding. Chef Dorothy deserves immense praise for the love and attention she poured into preparing meals for my little Ozil, who had just begun weaning. She went above and beyond to ensure his meals were not only nutritious but also enjoyable—something that gave me great peace of mind as a mother. Her dedication truly exceeded all expectations. Chef Kiige and Mzungu delighted the entire family with their signature dishes, especially their pilau and soups, which quickly became household favorites during our stay. The consistency, flavor, and authenticity of their cooking left such a lasting impression that our parents are still talking about it. Monicah was simply phenomenal. Her attentiveness to the children was unmatched—ensuring their meals were always on time, their feeding items impeccably clean, and their routines uninterrupted. She carried out her role with such precision and care that it made a world of difference for us as parents. Eugine brought such vibrancy to our experience, always present with excellent recommendations for meals and drinks that kept everyone satisfied and engaged. His attentiveness and cheerful demeanor added so much warmth to our stay. Maurice and Hamisi ensured our comfort by consistently keeping our beach setup perfect. With a large group like ours, this is no small task, yet they managed it effortlessly—always ensuring fresh towels and well-prepared beach beds were ready for us at any time. Francis impressed us with his efficiency and willingness to accommodate even our most unique dining requests at a moment’s notice. His flexibility and promptness made every meal feel personalized. Judy at the spa created such a memorable and special first-time experience for my parents. The care, calm, and professionalism she demonstrated made it unforgettable—they are still reminiscing about how relaxed and well taken care of they felt. Mary and Zawadi were absolute gems with the children, especially Owen and Maina. They kept them entertained, engaged, and happy throughout, allowing the rest of us to truly unwind. Their warmth and natural connection with the children were evident and deeply appreciated. The security team deserves special recognition for their vigilance and care, particularly along the beachfront. Knowing that Owen was always within a safe and watchful environment gave us immense peace of mind. Their attentiveness did not go unnoticed and is something I will always be grateful for. What truly sets Serena apart, however, is the culture of personalized service that runs through the entire team. Being warmly welcomed back with heartfelt gestures like “Mama Owen, we hope you are comfortable and enjoying your stay” speaks volumes. It’s these thoughtful touches that transform a stay into an experience filled with belonging. Lastly, my sincere appreciation goes to Mr. Chege, the General Manager. It is evident that his leadership, vision, and commitment to excellence are reflected in every single member of the team. The consistency in service, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality we experienced are a direct result of this strong leadership. We left Serena with full hearts, unforgettable memories, and deep gratitude. Experiences like these are rare, and Serena continues to set the gold standard in hospitality. We will most certainly be back—again and again.

Our stay was pleasant, particularly the kids activities which my son liked a lot. We received great service from the hotel staff, they were friendly and always ready to assist. We will definitely be back over the next holiday season.

We have just returned from a 14 day holiday at Serena Beach and spa resort I cannot compliment the hotel and all staff more. From our arrival the staff looked after us so well nothing was too much trouble The staff are all so friendly, happy and professional Our room was spacious very comfortable and had everything we required. The attention to detail was excellent and was looked after by Gibson several times a day. We appreciated Gibson ensuring we always had plenty of bottled water. We especially liked the decor of the hotel, taking you back to earlier colonial days. The dark wood, white wall and bright fabrics were very tasteful, keeping the African vibe The gardens were beautiful and so well tended by the large number of gardeners. We enjoyed half board and the choice of food both at breakfast and dinner was excellent with a huge selection. We also enjoyed a delicious seafood meal at the Jahazi Grill, again highly recommended. The hotel has entertainment most evenings with a selection of singers, bands and musicians We are already talking and planning to return next year Thank you again for the most amazing and memorable holiday spent at your beautiful hotel So well named Serena ❤️

Our stay at Serena in Mombasa was excellent. The staff was excellent - super attentive and friendly. We went to celebrate a birthday & we had a wonderful time! Thank you, Serena!

On arrival we checked in efficiently and was taken straight to room. Room was spacious, clean and plenty of storage. Dressing gown, sleepers and Elemis was great touch. The pool area was clean and the pool very warm. I did Aqua fit with Mike, Mary and another lovely lady. It was fun and commenced at 11am. The entertainment team are welcoming and friendly. We used the pool bar and had cheeky tuskers or cocktails. Albert and Eugeine made our holiday, they are assest to Serena. Although the hotel is too quite for me, the staff do make you want to return. Its definitely a hotel for business meetings, conferences or short vacations. The restaurant was clean, well maintained and plenty of food choice. My husband enjoyed the omelette, bacon and sausage 😋 I enjoyed the granola yogurt pots and fruit. There was so much choice. Evening meal was also plentiful and delicious. We ate out and went on safari, but enjoyed the meals we had. So you choose a table, then the waiters serve you soup and warm bread, you then help yourself to buffet. You can order drinks, either pay or add to room bill. They accept cash or card. We didn't use the fish restaurant purely because it was too quite and feel overwhelmed with service. Every day at 4pm they have afternoon tea included. I enjoyed a hot chocolate and cake. There is plenty of seats, tables, sunbeds. Towels are included and Maurice helped placing on beds. We like to move about, so probably upset him, when we didn't want the same spot each day. I used the gym, but I was dripping after 3 miles on treadmill. We didn't use spa, as you need to prepare arrange for sauna and steam room to be turned on. I tried running along beach in the morning, but even a peaceful jog- the locals hassel you. As soon as you step foot on the beach, you have no rest. We like a peaceful walk- No. The whole time we was on there we were hassled. This is why I wouldn't return. I like to explore and venture out. But you can't. We walked left to Istanbul cave restaurant- definitely recommend. We walked back and the beach is full of crabs. We walked right to yuls, again a lovely restaurant. We got stuck on return as tide came in. Uber is so cheap- we left bigger tip than ride cost. Hotel taxi is x3 of the price. I wanted to do more trips, but found it confusing to book. The Tui rep said book on app- but it didn't work. And I didn't understand what reception had to offer. So we just booked uber and went Haller Park ourselves. This was only disappointment not knowing what was available. Overall staff- service superiority Food- exceptional- no bad tummy's in 2 weeks ( apart from last night when it went to full table service) we were bad at airport. The parrot and tiger the cat were nice to see. We had an amazing time Thank you I think it wasn't at temperature
