I recently visited my favourite hotel on the Coast, Serena Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa, and, as always, the service was nothing short of spectacular. From catering to my 1-year-old and my 5-year-old, to the thoughtful little details that made our stay special, everything was simply amazing. They even went out of their way to sing for my little one and celebrate his belated 1st birthday. 🥹❤️ 1. Mr. Ali — Bosphorous Lounge ✈️ I would like to start by giving a very special mention to Mr. Ali for granting us a first-hand experience of the Bosphorous Lounge at Moi International Airport. Serena has partnered with Bosphorous Lounge to give its guests travelling both locally and internationally a taste of smooth, seamless and stress-free airport transfers. From the meet-and-assist service, smooth check-in and queue-jump experience, to the lounge itself, everything was incredibly well thought out. The lounge offers first-class amenities, a great selection of food and drinks, a quiet room, spa facilities and clean, comfortable bathrooms. Travelling with children can sometimes be hectic, so having someone take care of the airport process from the moment you arrive makes such a huge difference. This is definitely an experience you don’t want to miss! Make sure you enquire at reception about this amazing service — especially because it comes at very pocket-friendly rates. Chef Veronica — Our Kids’ Chef ❤️ Thank you for always taking the time to understand my children’s meal requirements and, more importantly, going the extra mile to make their meals special. One day, my son completely refused to eat. Veronica came over to find out what his favourite meal was so she could prepare it for him. When I told her it was ugali and mrenda, she went above and beyond to source the mrenda and prepare the meal for him. That level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail is truly exceptional. Thank you, Veronica! ❤️ 3. Our Lovely Monicah ❤️ Monicah, at this rate, we should just give you Owen to live with you! 😂❤️ You remain Owen’s absolute favourite person. The first thing he does whenever we arrive at Serena is look for his Monicah. Thank you for always matching his energy, making him feel loved and ensuring he has the best time every time we visit. 4. Mary & Zawadi — Kids Club ❤️ These two beautiful souls are such a blessing to my children. They are patient, understanding, fun and absolutely amazing with kids. From playing padel with Owen to chasing little Ozil around, you both give the children so much love, attention and joy. I could never be more grateful. ❤️ 5. Judy & Grace — Serena Spa Thank you for always giving me the most relaxing moments and making sure all the fatigue disappears. You have a way of making me feel completely rejuvenated, happy and relaxed before I head back home. You truly make my stays worthwhile! 6. Patricia ❤️ Thank you for the exceptional service you gave us throughout our five-day stay. You were so kind, understanding and attentive to every little detail. Your warmth made such a difference. Thank you also for patiently responding to my numerous calls 😂 and always assisting within incredibly short turnaround times. Your consistency and willingness to help never goes unnoticed. 8. The Check-in Team ❤️ As always, you make the check-in process so easy, smooth and incredibly quick. After travelling with two little ones, that is something I appreciate more than you know! 9. The Security Team ❤️ Thank you to the incredibly kind security team for always keeping an eye on my Owen and ensuring his safety is guaranteed. The fact that you know him, look out for him and make sure he is safe gives me such peace of mind. 10. Betsy ❤️ Thank you for always checking in to make sure Ozil is comfortable and for ensuring that his laundry is well taken care of. Those little acts of care make such a big difference to a mother travelling with young children. Be blessed, as always! 11. Chef Mhindi Thank you for always delivering my steaks exactly how I like them — and within such incredibly short timelines! You never disappoint! I could honestly go on and on. It is so difficult to mention everyone because the entire Serena team is exceptional. Every visit reminds me that this isn’t just about the beautiful surroundings, great food or luxurious facilities — it is the people who make Serena what it is. And I always relate this incredible culture to the amazing leadership of Mr. Chege. Mr. Chege, you are truly the pillar that brings this team together and ensures that this culture of warmth, excellence and genuine hospitality continues to shine. To the entire Serena team — thank you for always making us feel at home. ❤️ Five days later, we left feeling refreshed, loved and already looking forward to our next visit. We ate nice seafood at Jahazi grill restaurant. And Chef James’s food was absolutely amazing! Definitely come back again soon. Thank you so much.

Having being within your neighbourhood for over 35 years, I can say that you have maintained a great service to us and I have no doubt that this will continue. Please do maintain those indigenous trees/scrubs/flowers and the colour scheme for the building, as this is what keeps us coming back to Serena Mombasa 🙏

Traditional, classic, quiet hotel. Excellent customer service, lovely food, spa treatments were excellent.
