We have just returned from the most amazing stay at Serena Beach Resort in Mombasa, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything was simply wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, and impeccable attention to detail that truly makes it feel like a little piece of paradise. What made our holiday especially memorable was the incredible staff. Every single member of the team was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. A special thank you to Sylvester for his outstanding service — attentive, friendly, and always going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It’s staff like him who turn a lovely holiday into an unforgettable one. The food, hospitality, and overall ambiance were exceptional. You can really feel the heart and pride that goes into making guests feel welcome. If I could make one small suggestion, it would be for the Nyota Terrace to be made more welcoming with vibrant colours and a stronger African theme. Adding richer tones, cultural patterns, and more local-inspired décor would truly elevate the space and make it feel even more connected to the beautiful coastal surroundings. Thank you to the entire team for giving us such special memories. We are already looking forward to coming back!

We had a great stay at Serena resort thanks to the excellent staff and amenities! Everyone was so helpful and friendly, not only adjusting our booking upon arrival but also providing us a complimentary late check out due to a late flight home. The Jahazi Grill had an excellent seafood dinner with live jazz music and our lunches at the restaurant were always excellent, but the breakfast buffet was our favorite. I wish we had more time to enjoy all their activities but we had a great time in the pool and exploring. I would highly recommend this stay!

I arrived in Serena Hotel on August 2025 and this was the beginning of meeting the most wonderful and friendly staff ive encountered during my travels. I was greeted with a refreshing cold drink while I waited to be checked in which was rather fast as I did not have a prior reservation. My room was large, spacious and absolutely clean with a balcony area facing the ocean. The view was amazing. They ensured all my needs were catered to and at times went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. The food was definitely a 10/10 and the ambience during dinner was fantastic. The dinning area is more of an open space and they would have live bands playing classics on specific nights which was very enjoyable. I also had the chance to experience their dinner service at one of the restaurants located within the hotel known as Jahazi where they serve excellent seafood that was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend. My stay with them was to last roughly a month but I was enjoying the atmosphere so much I ended up staying five months. The staff was always attentive to my needs and always very friendly. The house keepers were always respectful of privacy and the laundry services were quick and efficient. The staff felt more like family and I really appreciate the company they gave me being that I traveled on my own. The guest relations managers Ann Okelo and Ali Mohamed were always hands on with regards to my stay and making sure everything was running smoothly during my stay. SN: There is also a doctor (Dr. Joel Lesirma) on the premises incase any health issues arise and need immediate assistance with that without or while waiting to be transported to one of the nearest hospitals if need be. I will definitely be visiting again in the near future and would recommend to anyone visiting Mombasa to give this resort a try. You will not regret it. Hannah K.
