We were here 26 March for 8 nights. It was our 4th visit to The Maldives. We had a room with pool on Dream Island. Excellent food and service all round. We went in most of the à la cartes restaurants and found food quality very good. Lots and lots of sea life, this was the best island we have been to for snorkelling. Lovely island, lots of pools to visit, love the feel of a bigger resort than our previous visits.

Absolutely — I’d make it warm, genuine and enthusiastic, while keeping it polished enough for a resort review. Writing Our stay at Sun Siyam Olhuveli this August was truly unforgettable. It is, without a doubt, one of the best resorts I have ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, everything felt perfect — the breathtaking surroundings, crystal-clear turquoise sea, beautiful beaches, amazing food, and most importantly, the exceptional service. The sea and the natural beauty of Olhuveli were simply stunning. We absolutely loved spending time in the water, exploring the underwater world while snorkelling, and enjoying the various water sports. Every experience was made even more special by the incredible beauty of the island. It is the kind of place where you can spend hours by the sea and still not get enough of it. The food was another highlight of our stay, with so much variety and everything we tried being delicious. But what truly made the experience exceptional was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Everyone was genuinely friendly, attentive and always willing to go the extra mile. A very special thank you to our wonderful coordinator, Nizna, who made sure our stay was comfortable and memorable from beginning to end. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the restaurant supervisors, Chamil Fernando and Mr. Shaun, for their outstanding hospitality and for making every dining experience so enjoyable. Their kindness and attention to detail really stood out. Sun Siyam Olhuveli is more than just a beautiful resort — it is an experience. The stunning ocean, beautiful surroundings, wonderful food, exciting water activities and genuinely warm service made our holiday truly special. We left with so many beautiful memories and honestly did not want to leave. ❤️🌊 We would absolutely love to come back to Sun Siyam Olhuveli again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful Maldivian escape with exceptional service and an unforgettable experience!

It was no our first time in Maldives (we've already been at Baa, Laamu, North Male, staying at various hotels). But this vacation was absolutly perfect and incredible! We really enjoyed the food - it was diverse and delicious (especially hummus, omelets, tuna, fruits, various chees, and desserts). Every day we admired the beautiful nature, ocean vews, enjoyed the soft white sand), swam at the crystal clear water, sunbathed on the beach. My daughter loved the crabs, herons, waterhens, flying foxes, thrilled by the schooll of fish, stingrays, turtles, sharks that made her to be so happy. Our Grand Thanks to the stuff: we received a very warm welcome, and everybody were always available to help! I hope we will be there again.

We stayed at Sun Siyam Olhuveli from 28 March–2 April 2026 as a family of four, on a full-board package, for what was intended to be a special and memorable holiday. Unfortunately, the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. From the day we arrived, we experienced repeated problems with dining, communication and service. We were unable to secure reservations at the resort’s restaurants through the app despite repeatedly trying, and were initially given very limited information about which dining options were actually available to us under our full-board package. We ultimately had to approach restaurants and the Front Desk ourselves to try to secure meals. Food quality and presentation were also repeatedly disappointing. Our first buffet lunch was poorly presented and unappetising; other meals were served lukewarm or lacked flavour; and we experienced an issue at Crust & Flame regarding chicken wings which, according to the restaurant’s own management, had been prepared earlier and subsequently reheated. Afternoon tea was another disappointment, with photographs taken at the time showing the presentation and condition of the food. These concerns were raised while we were in resort. Perhaps most frustrating was the lack of timely communication. We repeatedly contacted our assigned host regarding our concerns, including messages that went unanswered for extended periods. We also repeatedly requested management intervention. Meaningful management engagement did not take place until 1 April – the day before our departure – despite the concerns having been raised from the beginning of our stay. We were subsequently offered a complimentary dinner at Maghrib Grill and an in-villa breakfast before our early departure. We declined these gestures as they were neither practical nor proportionate: we had already paid for full-board dining, and the breakfast was incompatible with our early departure. No financial compensation was offered. What was particularly disappointing was the subsequent complaints process. We provided Yalago, through whom the complaint was handled, with contemporaneous messages and photographs supporting our account. The hotel’s responses largely consisted of explanations of its standard procedures and assertions that our concerns had been addressed. We challenged these responses and supplied further evidence, including photographs showing empty tables at restaurants during our stay. The hotel nevertheless maintained that the restaurants were operating at high capacity and that empty tables did not indicate availability. The supplier ultimately escalated the matter back to the hotel again and confirmed that the resort had refused any financial compensation. The only further “gesture” offered was a future room upgrade – something of no practical value to us given that, following this experience, we have no intention of returning. We appreciate that individual experiences can vary and that a resort cannot satisfy every guest. Our concern is the cumulative nature of the problems, the amount of time and effort we had to spend during our holiday trying to obtain basic assistance, and the fact that meaningful intervention came only when most of the holiday had already passed. For a resort marketed and priced as a luxury Maldives destination, and particularly for guests paying for full board, our experience fell significantly below what we reasonably expected. Based on our experience, we would not return to Sun Siyam Olhuveli and would encourage prospective guests to carefully consider the dining, reservation and service arrangements before booking.

The real highlight of the resort experience was my diving instructor, Victoria. From the very first lesson, it was clear she takes a personalized approach with every student — she really paid attention to my pace and comfort level with skills. What stood out most, though, was her genuine passion for diving. She's not just highly skilled and professional, but also incredibly warm and empathetic. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and that enthusiasm made the whole experience so much more enjoyable and rewarding.
