We had an incredible cocktail class experience with Atilesh. He helped us create our perfect cocktails which were delicious! He has been so friendly and helpful during our stay and it was lovely to spend an afternoon creating cocktails with him. Absolutely 5/5 experience on our honeymoon!
We had an amazing stay here, and I especially want to mention Dylan, who is truly one of the best. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His exceptional service made our stay even more special and truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Very good service, especially from waiter aniket. ✨
Had an Amazing birthday dinner at East restaurant. Vijay, Veer and Fiy made it even better, service was excellent ,Thank you for making the night so special. Stay Blessed beautiful team
Context: we are a family of 5 people (kids 10-11-13) and we spent 15 wonderful nights in Mauritius: 5 days in the Oberoi, 5 days in the One & Only hotel and the last part of the trip in the Lux Le Morne. I will start saying that the landscape in the southwest is amazing, but this has nothing to do with Lux. My brother has been in the resort several years ago and recommend it to us. I want to start recognizing that the directors Mr . Ashok is a real gentleman and tries his best. Also most of the stuff is super nice and polite. We originally did not find rooms (we booked 2) available for the entire stay but after dealing with Mr Ashook he was able to accommodate us. That being said, this hotel is not a five-star hotel by any standard, neither a 4-star hotel. It could have not been a 5-star hotel in the 1980. All my comments are related to both the level of the hotel and the value for money. This hotel placed at 200$ per night with a 3 star expectation would be okay. I also personally struggle to understand most of the comments here from other customers even if the reviews are also distorted by people stopping by for a drink at the bar. The room are not at the level of a 3-star hotel. Is not only the fact that they are old, but the maintenance is just not there, the level of hygiene neither. We changed two rooms (Mr Ahsook "upgraded" us for free), but as you will see in the pictures the level is just awful. They would need a total renovation, from AC system, to furniture, bathrooms etc. I personally struggle to understand how people can pay 700$ per night per room and consider this a 5 star resort. The maintenance of the hotel is not there either: common spaces, garden. The water dispenser around the beach are left with fruit inside decomposing, the kids club looks like a jail, the gym is old and dirty, with equipment not functioning . The beach is nice (but see the comment below on other resort on the same beach…they have better spots). When I am talking about the maintenance of the hotel, check the Oberoi and you will see what a 5-star hotel is. And I am talking about an hotel that has a local flavor (as Lux Le Morne should have) and not even comparing with the One and Only which is a super luxury hotel. Food in the main restaurant is not even at the level chain resort..like a bravo hotel, club med etc. We had breakfast and dinners there…it was really poor. The waitresses are super nice, but the food is so average that I would not eat in such restaurant any day of my life. We went outside of the hotel and there are amazing restaurants. I strongly suggest Wapalam..5 min drive from the hotel. Best food of Mauritius. Concierge: we had a bad experience in the combination of concierge/boat house (better I dont even mention it) but the real problem is the lack of professionalism by the main person in charge: Justine Desire. Not professional, doesn’t listen, doesn’t give correct information. This is not what you expect from a 5 star resort, when you sepend such amount of money and want to enjoy your time is Mauritius. I will give you one example (I would have way more): early in the week, while we were staying at the One & Only hotel, we have been to Valle park (kids loved it) and Casela (nightmare..do not suggest) and also to Charamel Park (amazing..will do another post about it). Kids loved the quad experience and we asked Justine if we could do it elsewhere. The answer was that only in Vallet, you can do it. Reality: there are at least two other places to do it, and we did it. One, by the way, is an amazing experience through the sugarcane plantations…I recommend it. Boat house: the complementary activities are meant for not being done. You can book them only 24 hours (previous day) starting at 9 am (by 10am no more availability). Considering that most of the people come to the island to have activities…if you go out with the boat in the morning of one day you cannot book anything for the following day because they dont allow to book for two days in advance. My suggestion: get your guide is the best tool to book boat excursions if you will stay at the Lux Le Morne (which I do not recommend). The person in charge of the boat house doesn’t care about customers at all. Lazy, he just doesnt care. As I said Gym is old. Kids club is sad. Spa is a shame…very rarely we go to a 5 star without using it, but after visiting we gave up. Just to let you laugh I will give you a last examples of the way the hotel is managed: there is a beach volleyball court. My kids wanted to play with us…we went to the reception and kids club to ask for a ball. They don’t have a volleyball ball…but only soccer ball or cheap plastic playground ball 😊😊 😊 Final Suggestion: if you want to reside in the south coast go left of the Lux Lemorne (St Regis) or right side (Dinarobin). Special notes: Noush from concierge is super nice and professional. Jason from customer service very nice and professional
