Montenegro Beach Resort

Would have liked to given 5 stars, but we faced a few disappointing factors flew out with Jet2, who were noticeable by their absence (different review for them), being dropped off at the hotel next door - Iberostar and being told just to walk down to the hotel as the coach could not get down the small road, no accompanying staff. We arrived around midday, to be told our rooms (booked two, one for us and one for our son and girlfriend Age 19) were not ready, but should be done in 1 hour and half , we went off to the bar, came back to be told it would be another 25 mins, then was told a further 20 mins, so we sat in the reception thinking that our rooms would be ready soon, this was not the case, it was 3pm (their official check in time) before the rooms were ready, only to find that our two rooms were on completely different floors. There were some welcoming staff and some very abrupt staff on reception, which did not help the situation, Note to remember if flying on the Jet2 flight from Stanstead you will arrive early, but doubt your rooms will be ready till 3pm, maybe take your swimwear in your cabin bag and just head to the pool - we wasted 3 hours The rooms themselves were spacious (Standard Plus room) and clean, good air con, Coffee is chargeable in the room along with mini bar, you can hire a kettle. point to note is the Juliet balcony is just open doors with about 15in of floor outside, you can not sit out on the balcony which is a shame and this does not really have sea or mountain views only a car park. you need to be in the new building where an extra charge is to have the balcony and mountain / sea views. The bed was comfortable and an option to leave a card on the bed if you do not wish for new clean sheets, if you wish for new towels leave them on the floor, but we found most of the time we hung our towels to keep them, only to find they have been changed (shame as effecting the environment) The hotel has a nice pool area, fairly small but never felt over crowded, with sunbeds all around which again didn't really have an issue securing a bed during the day. a short walk to the beach where you pick up your towels, great system you have a card which they exchange for a towel and then when you return this is given back, you can change throughout the day also. The Beach area is for the hotel guests only and free (other areas were charging around 15 to 25 euro for 2 x bed and umbrella and again didn't really have an issue finding sun beds, the beach is very small gravel with pebbles into the sea, the sea gets very deep very quickly but is roped off to protect from the boats and watersports, to the right there are the cliffs which was great to snorkel and see a few fish etc. We went Bed & Breakfast and could not fault the breakfast, lots of choice and good quality, glad we didn't go All inclusive as reading lots of reviews where most is not included, but B&B was really good. The Hotel has a few bars/ restaurants - the new Latin bar (great for happy hour cocktails) the El Gousto restaurant - unfortunately the food was a under par especially the squid which was in edible. there is the Mika cafe which is nice, and has a selection of indulgent cakes. and bars around the poolside (friendly staff here) The one thing you need to be aware of is all of the eateries and bars under the hotel automatically charge 10% surcharge, which is normally acceptable, until the staff tell you that is given to all staff, but waiting staff we found, still expected a further tip, which we could not justify and it was confusing when staff said there would be an extra charge to use card, cash is king out there, but when we used card there was no further charge? the 10% surcharge was even put on drinks when you went to the bar to order your own drinks, other local restaurants in the area did not have this and was a pleasure to personally tip the great service elsewhere. There is an indoor pool and sauna, but be aware the floor is extremely slippery, take care!

The hotel is nice; the highlight of our stay was definitely Željko Milić. His attitude with our kids was incredible from the first moment we stepped into the hotel. He welcomed us warmly and managed to make our kids feel at home despite the fact that they don't speak English. I would highly recommend anyone that has kids go to Hotel Montenegro because Željko Milić just made the stay amazing!!! Pool and beach facilities are also great. Restaurant Le Gusto is good. Staff if very friendly.

Hotel is a family oriented and offered to our family memorable stay with quality service. We stayed 2 adults and daughter 3,5 years plus 2 parents on all inclusive. Without hesitation we recommend the property and happy to stay for our family vacation here! In details to share some points that can help others : Food - the food is fresh, and meat and fish in sufficient quantity and choice for children and adults of all ages. 2 times during our vacation there was ice cream for dinner of different flavors. If someone wants it every day - you can take it by the pool for an additional fee. Here wanted to say great thanks to Jelena hostess of main restaurant for her hospitality and polite service, Savic water that always welcomed us on terrace for breakfast and lunch and dinner with pink chair and straw for our daughter 😌 and also Valentina waiter at Stars Bar Club. Animation - 3 times a week a children's disco, my daughter enjoyed it and waited even if she didn't have power by end of the day 😄. Every Sunday they invite a national folk group, various dancing national style gather the whole hotel together. In addition, on other evenings the hotel's animators perform together with a Cuban trio. My parents were delighted with the tenor!!!! Beach - there are enough places for everyone and it's good that the beach is only for hotel guests and day passes are not sold. Rooms - we booked 2 standard plus rooms, the room was small for us to stay 2 adults and kid 3,5 years, but when we changed to a connected one, there was more space. Everything is in the same building. The new building - all the rooms have direct sea view. But even in our building, the rooms are well renovated and clean. Housekeeping service was every day and change the bed and towels. There is no bottled water in the room and at first it was not convenient. We had thermos mugs, filled them in the bar or restaurant and took them to the room. Room service provides water for an additional fee to the room. We took the excursion from our tour operator called “Heart of Montenegro” and it’s highly recommended to take , also close to hotel there were other tours from travel agencies nearby.

We stayed at the Montenegro beach hotel on an all inclusive basis and had a mixed experience. There were definitely some positives but there were a few things that let the hotel down. On our arrival at Tivat airport the taxi that was supposed to be included in our TUI holiday did nit arrive. We paid €70 to get a private taxi to the hotel. To be fair to TUI they did reinburse us within 5 days. The reception staff weren't particularly friendly or welcoming when we arrived. Throughout our stay, there seemed to be only a handful of staff who genuinely smiled, spoke to us and made us feel welcome. This was probably one of the biggest disappointments of the hotel. The buffet restaurant was good, with a decent choice of food, although we chose to eat out most evenings as there are so many lovely restaurants nearby. The all-inclusive drinks package was unfortunately the worst we've experienced. It included wine, beer and local spirits. Although cocktails are advertised, they were essentially orange squash and a spirit. The mixers came from a machine and weren't particularly pleasant. If you enjoy Prosecco, you have to pay extra, at around €9-€10 for a small bottle. which we felt was disappointing for an all inclusive 4 star hotel. The entertainment was very poor during most of our stay and consequently the hotel was extremely quiet in the evenings with very little atmosphere. One exception was the night when three tenors performed - they were absolutely excellent and probably the highlight of the hotel's entertainment. The Latino Beach bar which is owned by the hotel was a completely different experience. It had a fantastic atmosphere and great entertainment. Unfortunately, the drinks aren't included in the all-inclusive package There were plenty of things we really liked. Our room was lovely, exceptionally clean and had excellent air conditioning. The hotel beach was also very nice, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available. The location is qood too. Budva is around a 40-minute pleasant evening walk away, with plenty of restaurants and bars on the way. One word of warning regarding taxis: get the hotel to arrange one for you We were charged €29 for a journey that took just 10 minutes, which we thought was extortionate Overall Montenegro itself is beautiful. The hotel's rooms, cleanliness, beach and location are all good, but the lack of atmosphere, poor entertainment disappointing all-inclusive drinks and unfriendly staff stopped it from being a hotel we'd rush back to. Would we return? Probably not - but we absolutely loved Montenegro and would definitely return to the country.

There are definitely some positives to this hotel. The dinner staff are lovely, always friendly, very quick to clear tables and clean up after guests. The hotel itself is very clean, and there always seem to be housekeeping staff around keeping everything tidy. The rooms and bathrooms are modern and nicely decorated, and the food is generally nice, fresh and there is always something to choose from. Guests also get free use of sunbeds and towels, and there is a private section of beach for hotel guests. However, there are quite a few negatives that really affected our stay. The food is very repetitive, so although there is always something available, after a few days it becomes quite boring. The biggest disappointment was the “all-inclusive” package, which really does not feel very all-inclusive. There is a limited selection of alcoholic and soft drinks included, and you have to pay extra for cocktails. This is something I have never experienced at another all-inclusive hotel. The pool is also extremely small, with very limited sunbeds around it. If you want a sunbed by the pool, you realistically need to be there around 7:30am. Otherwise, your only real option is the beach. The entertainment was another major disappointment. There is no entertainment provided every night, despite the hotel having built a separate Latin bar at the back which does have entertainment every night. However, you have to pay for your drinks there. It feels as though the hotel has created this bar to encourage all-inclusive guests to go there to watch the entertainment and then pay for their drinks, which defeats the point of staying all-inclusive. The rooms themselves are modern, but the bathroom is very small, and the balcony is also quite small and doesn’t have any chairs or a table, which makes it difficult to properly use the space. Some bar staff could also be quite miserable at times, and on one occasion I saw ice being picked up with bare hands, which I found particularly unhygienic. The pool bar is also not included in the all-inclusive package, meaning you have to pay extra for drinks there, which seems very strange. The snack bar is also extremely limited, offering mainly sandwiches, fruit, yoghurts and biscuits - almost rusk type biscuits that you could feed to a baby/ toddler. Overall, I would not consider this a 4-star hotel. I would give it 3.5 stars at a push. There are plenty of other 4-star all-inclusive hotels that offer significantly more for the same or less money. While the hotel is clean, modern and has some lovely staff, the limited all-inclusive offering, repetitive food, small pool, poor entertainment and additional costs really let it down. For the price we paid, I don’t feel the hotel offers good enough value for money and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
