Horrible resort with horrible customer service. The resort as a whole is a dump and they provide no services as described. If booking mistake they are horrible in making adjustment or alterations.

I arrived at Bahia Principe all inclusive resort on June 26, 2026 with a group of about 100 people. I was told before i arrived that i had a room already reserved. After persistence at the front desk, i realized that i didn't have a room available. I feel like i was thrown into a room at the last minute and was very disappointed from day one. The room was very musky, and everything in the bathroom looked very dirty. I took pictures of the fixtures that looked like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. The walls and the floor was dirty. Some blackish color was around the shower and around the floor, especially around the toilet. The walls were cracking apart. You can see on the pics. We were there an hour trying to figure out how to change rooms before unpacking. I used the restroom and it wasn't a surprise that the toilet was backed up (which explains the stains on the floor). The sheets on the bed were disgusting. Should have been white, but were more of a tan color. Smelled like i was inside of a football locker room. I called the desk to complain about the condition and didn't get any help. I had to call twice to get someone to come and fix the toilet. He seemed very annoyed because he was sent to fix the problem. That didn't help how we were feeling. I was finally told that i would have to wait until the next day to change rooms. I refused to sleep in a disgusting dirty room when i paid so much money to get there. I went to the desk a few times until someone finally helped me and put us in another building. We were so far away from my group of 6, and begged to be moved closer together for safety reasons. They put us in a premium room with members, and i was very satisfied. Not sure why anyone would be put in the room we had in the beginning anyways. The beach area was very disappointing as well. Luckily i had done some research about all of the seaweed coming up on the beach, but i didn't expect what i saw. Trucks were on the beach scooping up seaweed, like snow trucks scooping up snow in the winter. That's how bad it was. We were ran out of so many areas, not knowing they were off limits. Most resorts i have been to in the past, we could access their clubs, restaurants and beach area. The night life was pretty much non-existent. There was one club a lot of teens went to at night, but not really anything for people over 40 to attend. By 10:00-11:00, it was a ghost town. The shows were pretty good. but once they ended, there wasn't much to do. There was pretty much one restaurant to eat fries, a hotdog, and other small snacks, but no where to get food after 10:00. We basically walked around looking for something to do. Drinks were very watered down, so nothing to brag about. The bartenders were not friendly at all and acted like they didn't want to be bothered. My friend asked for a sprite, and he was very rude. Pool area was nice, but you have to get there early if you want a seat with shade. I went at 9:00 am and no luck. Overall, i had a good time seeing my old friends, sitting around talking and laughing. Front desk crew. Unfortunately, i can't remember the one lady that actually had awesome customer service. She gave me a hard time for coming there about the room, but i enjoyed the banter with her. Jaycol was awesome and probably made more money on tips than anyone else we encountered. We really appreciated his attitude and keeping us laughing. I have never gone on vacation and wanted to leave the first day i arrived.

I honestly don’t know how a restaurant can make a family vacation experience this frustrating over six minutes. We had a reservation for 6 people at 6:00 PM at Flame Restaurant at Bahia Principe Punta Cana. Two members of our party arrived at approximately 6:06 PM. Yes, we were six minutes late. SIX MINUTES. The woman at the hostess stand, whose name I believe was Roseangele (I’m not sure of her exact position, whether hostess or manager), told us that because we were late, she could only seat our party at separate tables. Let that sink in: six minutes late, and our family of six was being separated—even though the restaurant was practically EMPTY. What made this even more ridiculous was that there were clearly numerous empty tables available. I even took a photo shortly after we were seated, and the photo shows the restaurant with plenty of available tables and the time. This wasn’t a situation where the restaurant was packed, there were people waiting, or our reservation was genuinely preventing someone else from being seated. We were on a family vacation, trying to enjoy a special evening together. Instead, it felt like we were being punished for being six minutes late. There was absolutely no reasonable justification for treating a family this way when there were so many empty tables. I understand having reservation policies. I understand that restaurants need to manage their tables. But there is a huge difference between enforcing a reasonable policy and using a six-minute delay as an excuse to separate a family when the restaurant has plenty of open seating. The attitude and lack of basic common sense made the entire situation incredibly upsetting. Customer service should involve some level of judgment and common sense, especially at a resort where people are spending their vacation and money expecting to have a pleasant experience. We came to Punta Cana to relax, spend time together, and make family memories—not to be made to feel unwelcome over a six-minute delay. Flame Restaurant at Bahia Principe Punta Cana: this was unacceptable customer service. A completely empty restaurant, plenty of available tables, and yet somehow six minutes was enough reason to separate a family. Management should seriously reconsider how situations like this are handled. Policies are one thing. Making paying vacation guests feel punished and unwelcome when there was clearly no need to do so is another. Very disappointing experience. I would think twice before making a reservation here.
